Here is the complaint we filed with the Washington State insurance commissioner's office today: On June 3, 2021, I contacted Ami's office via email requesting that my wedding ring be added to our insurance policy. The ring was added as requested. In August 2023, when we sold our home, our homeowner's policy was mistakenly not canceled by the title company. Upon realizing this oversight in February 2024, we immediately contacted Shayla at Ami's office to request the cancellation of our homeowner's policy and a refund retroactive to August. At no point did we request cancellation of the ring policy, nor were we informed by Shayla or anyone else that canceling the homeowner's policy would also cancel coverage for the ring. In fact, the ring policy was never discussed. One month ago, my wedding ring was lost. When I reached out to Ami's office to file a claim, we were shocked to discover that coverage for the ring had been canceled without our consent or knowledge. Despite our clear communication, Ami's office refused to accept any responsibility for this error or to work with us towards a resolution. Additionally, we are currently constructing a new home. On March 4, 2025, our lender explicitly communicated with Shayla Girdner at Allstate, requesting that our construction policy remain active until the completion and closing of our home. Shayla confirmed receipt of this instruction and agreed not to cancel the policy prematurely. However, we discovered today that our construction policy was canceled on March 10, 2025, and erroneously converted to a homeowner's policy, even though construction remains incomplete and we have not closed. As a result, we now have a home under construction without any insurance coverage. Furthermore, due to the advanced stage of construction, we have been unsuccessful in securing alternative insurance coverage. This series of negligent actions by Ami's office has placed us under severe financial risk and hardship. We request immediate investigation and intervention by your office to resolve this matter promptly and ensure accountability. Thank you for your urgent attention to this issue. *if you value good customer service, it is advised you look elsewhere. Other agents in our area have also had customers coming to them from Ami's office citing complaints for terrible service and looking for a new agent. Allstate customer service was able to remedy Ami's errors, and apologized profusely for her negligence. read more

I tried to cancel my policies through Ami by emailing her. She directed me to call the AllState 1-800# which promptly transferred me to her office. When I told the receptionist that I wanted to terminate my policies, I was told to email Ami. Having already done so, and having been directed to call, I asked to be transferred to her or another agent. I was informed that the person answering calls was working remotely and that this was not possible. After emailing Ami AGAIN she replied that she would process the cancellation after her meeting. I didn't hear back from her so I emailed asking if it had been done, she replied that yes both policies had been cancelled. To my surprise, I awoke this morning to a bill from Allstate saying my policy was increasing due to ending auto pay? After calling Allstate I found out that she had taken auto pay off of my auto policy and had not terminated either my home or auto policies as stated. I was finally able to cancel through All State directly, but it has taken me 2 days to do something as simple as terminate my policy. This is shady business practice and I highly recommend you find someone else to fill your insurance needs. Per Ami's response I did try to call the call center before business hours but opted to wait until she opened to go through her. Sometimes you never know how bad customer service is until you need it. If you're considering Ami Bennett's office I highly recommend you read the below. Dealing w/ Ami Bennett Allstate's team over the last 5 years has been the 2nd worst customer experience I've ever had , Second only to Comcast. I've unfortunately had 3 claims in the last 2 years , and the navigating of those claims were very difficult as i had not been through anything like those prior ( PIP coverage was utilized, i was hit by a drunk driver w/ many confusing nuances to the claim, hit by another Allstate customer which convolutes things ,the list goes on) They were very difficult claims with a lot of questions and advice I needed from Ami. I was needing some expert opinion from my agent and MULTIPLE times I called her office asking to talk with her. EVERY time i called asking to talk or schedule and appointment w/Ami , the secretary or assistant answering the phone would give the same answer "Ami is busy ,how can I help you ". Every time!!! At one point , I literally begged to make an appointment with her and was given the response " she does not have any appointments this week" I said what about next week? The secretary responded saying "I'm sorry sir is there something I can do to help you" The last conversation we had before i left her agency , I got very upset and this time I literally demanded an appointment with Ami. The secretary rudely put me on hold and after 10 minutes of holding was transferred to the main Allstate customer service number. I then called back Ami's local number and was sent directly to voicemail (hmm caller I.D.? ) That was when I gave up and said never again! At 52 years old I've had many different insurance agents over the years , some who are definitely more hands off then others , but I have never experienced what I experienced dealing with this agency over those years. I highly recommend a different Allstate agent . I went with Allstate Agent Jim DeBruler in Vancouver, and what a difference! Back to old school relationships! No customer service or assistance when needed. During my time as a client I fought to get any response or assistance, even when looking to add on to my insurance policy. Ami and her team have done it again! Just started a new salon business and ami and her team helped me with my personal and business insurance. What I did not know is that a lot of other insurance agencies leave out a lot of coverage to cut corners, but not Ami and her team! I can't even believe how much time they were willing to work with me to find the best option also the best plan to keep my payments low and my coverage high! It was really hard trying to navigate what I really needed vs what I didn't being a new business owner. Also with all of the other things I have to worry about it was nice to have someone help me. Allstate way over-withdrew money from my account and Ami's agency has not been helpful in getting the refund (around $800) due me. I've had to log a complaint with my bank on an improper ACH. I will be changing agents and insurance companies. This is unacceptable service. read more

I am a new business owner and I truly appreciate everything that the Ami Boal- Bennett agency is doing to protect my organization. I didn't know much about commercial insurance and Shayla took the time to explain that the minimum policies may leave me exposed. She was more concerned about my organization's well-being, and because of that I learned that if I spent a couple of dollars more per month, I would have double the coverage. Very disappointed with the lack of communication with Ami. I had an issue with canceling my policy. I emailed Ami to see if there was any way I could get some kind of refund since they were debiting my account since December (I was told to email her and that she would be able to help me with this or to at least help clarify the issue with me). Instead of helping me and responding to my email (and calls) she completely disregarded my situation and has still yet to return my calls and emails on this matter. I do not recommend this agent. I have had numerous issues with this office. Finally moved all 8 policies to a different agent after the last straw. Where do I start here are a few. Not getting calls back on important time sensitive issues, excuses from the office, I emailed you but I guess you didn't get it, your policy is canceled due to non payment, (even though we are in auto payments) and the last was the minor fender bender with my neighbor's parked car. My first accident ever and I was treated like I was a nuisance to them. The girl in the office was naming off addresses because she couldn't find who I was when I was trying to figure out if our insurance was going to go up. Than they needed my policy number, since they didn't know me by name every time I called the office. I expect that when I call the 1(800) number. But not my home office. Horrible experience and finally after 4yrs of being treated like a paycheck. I finally found a better agent who is actually sent us a gift already. Way better customer service than this Agent. She has grown so much that her employees don't have it anymore. Except; Angelique Exe and Amber Kroger they had that customer service. read more

Very unprofessional agent. Hung up on me because she was too lazy to fix her mistake on my policy. After having to spend hours with customer service, I was able to get it resolved. Allstate is awesome, but this agency is NOT! if you ever need to use your insurance or have any issue, they will drop you and hang up the phone, refusing to help. read more

Worse insurance agency I have ever dealt with and all for a something as basic as a quote for our new home. Whomever I had spoken with flat out lied to my broker!!! Told him that I had already chosen them and to go ahead and proceed with the paperwork needed. This was before even referring back to me on how much our premium for my "QUOTE" was going to be. Which was 30 to 40 dollars more then all of the other agencies I had called. I had told the lady nicely I wasn't interested and thanks for her time. My broker called me minutes later confirming that I had chosen Allstate!?!? I explained to him I definitely did not. He then proceeded to tell me about this locations so called actions. Him and I both were just floored on the unprofessionalism of this place. I would have just put all of this behind me and forgive and forget. Kind of hard to do... when every person that works at location is constantly calling me since we closed on our house 6 months ago!!! I called atleast 20 different agencies in search of quotes that day and not one of which lied to my broker and has even once called me sense then. I most recently cancelled my policies with Allstate that I have had for four years now. One for renters and my other for my auto, I cancelled my policy on the 19th of June and according to the lady that helped me from another office this office of Amy Bennetts didn't process it till the 22nd leaving me with a smaller refund. I couldn't receive any of this information from Amy's office because when she picked up the phone and I asked why she couldn't help me she said it was because I no longer have a policy with them. I felt that it was very rude to be told that and hung up. I later called the office located off Andresen and was helped by a lovely lady who I won't mention on here and she was more helpful then I have ever been helped by an Allstate agent at Amy's office. I do not recommend anyone use this office because you should be treated the same as if you were to first sign a contract with them as if you were to leave with them. Businesses are still here because of the customer service they provide. This office is now making the face of Allstate sad due to the fact that I was not even treated with the most respect that someone should have been treated with. Worst Agent Ever! The first time I called her office to get a simple letter of experience relating to a claim, there was confusion on her office team's part and I simply requested to speak to a supervisor with the proper administrator privileges to review my needs in the email chain that had been ignored, clarify, and get the correct information. I got a call back from Ami with extreme attitude, she was unprofessional, entitled, and rude. She told me that she could help me with that and have it done in 15 minutes, but simply and outright wasn't going to help me. This after ignoring my emails for several days and having a complete lack of empathy for the urgency their mistake had created. She does not take point to assist you but just provides you phone numbers to do it all yourself which one could easily get from Allstate.com. Plain and simple she would not do her job, whether because she was incapable, ego centric, or outright LAZY! read more
