I usually have good experiences with Amia lash. I've referred several people and have always gotten good results. Idk if they have recently changed glue or the lady that did my lashes this time just didn't know what she was doing. I've literally had my "full set" of lashes done for a week and from day one I have lost between 5-10 individuals per day. Amia, itself, is no frills and is located n an office building. Kind of wonder if the eyelash technicians are even certified to apply lashes here. If you are looking for: -rude service crooked technicians that lie to you when you request for a particular technician and say that they're booked, but they really arent, they just wanted to steal you away as a client -glue and chemicals in your eye and them reassuring you that that's "normal" -upcharging you for mink when it doesn't feel like mink.... -lashes that dont look even then you should get your lashes done here. The technician I was always visiting no longer works here, Thank God! She was the only one who knew how to properly do eyelashes and the absolutely only reason I'd go here. Lash extensions used to only be available to the rich and famous. Now it seems that lash studios are popping up everywhere. But beware ... they are not created equal. I'm excited to report that I found my go-to lash studio and lash artist. I was referred to Amia after I had a bad introduction to lash extensions at another lash salon. My first set was cute from afar, but had large clumps of glue that looked like I had used too much mascara. Within a few days, I lost a lot of the lashes, but was left with the clumps. It wasn't attractive at all. I asked around and found that several of my friends recommended Amia. Fortunately for me, Lisa took care of my lash crisis. She took the time to unclump and remove the unsightly globs of glue and gave my lashes the care and attention that they really needed. Lisa didn't just add lash extensions on top of bad extensions, she removed all of the unsightly clumps and started from scratch. She applied individual lashes to my short stubby lashes, using the tiniest amount of glue to make them look extremely natural. After a brief nap, I awoke to see my new lashes. While the extensions add length and fullness, my lashes look really natural. No more lash curlers and mascara for me! I'm hooked and will definitely be back to see Lisa again. She is a true professional and takes a lot of pride in making sure that your lashes look beautiful. The studio is located in an office building behind Papa John's on Gessner and Westheimer. I'll try again tomorrow but it will be their last chance from this client. May 10, 2015 Stylist: Tina did a good job, i was so relaxed i fell asleep but I have a few complaints. Negatives: Scheduling: - I tried to make an appointment on Wednesday but they told me that they would call ne back and never did. I had to call them on Friday. Lashes: - My lashes are uneven on the outside edges because Tina forgot about 5 lashes on one if my eyes. I got a full set on Saturday so I will contact them Monday to see if they can fix them. - one of my lashes is crooked so it pushes and clumps a group of them together. Charges: - Though I pointed out that the promotion on the website said $79 and showed her the website i was charged $89. She refused to change it and I'm not confrontational so i just left. That wasn't right of them. I will see if they can explain the charges to me when they fix my lashes. Positives: Venue: - The venue is clean and aestically appealing. I used to wear falsies all the time but due to work, i had to take another route for a more natural look. i originally got a coupon for amia lash and it was about $69 i believe. i called and made an appointment then went in to the building in which they have an office held. my lash lady's name is kim and she is super nice and wonderful. i got the full set, which was gorgeous and super natural looking. and every two weeks i go in for a refill of $35 each time. i always ask for kim because she seems to do a great job. it's also super easy to make an appointment as well, they always try to squeeze me in as i have a difficult work schedule. as for the lash extensions process, it does not hurt. i've heard that it can be irritating to others but for me it was completely fine. i always fall asleep while getting mine done, it's the perfect time for a cat nap! :) i've tried lash extensions at lash co. and many other places, which were absolutely horrible! i am so glad i finally found a place in which i am satisfied with, and i am VERY picky. read more

My eyelashes done by Becky weren't bad I'll give her the 1 star for that, but she said my eyes were too big which is why the stickers they put on your eyes cut my eye which is the reason I am in an urgent care faculty now. How the hell is a person eyes too big? If they are too big for you to put the stickers on then they are too big for the eyelashes to get my money! Then they price based on how many weeks you wait to get refills: $25 after 1 week, $35 after 2 weeks, and $45 after 3 weeks. The salon itself isn't anything fancy. I was hesitant to come here because I have been going elsewhere for 2 years, but my mom told me to give this place a try. I used to go to a studio on westheimer which shall remain nameless for moment being and I always had to return the next week bc lashes would fall, etc.. And starter was $250 so not good.. However my lashes are perfect.. Haven't fallen, not clumped or glued together.. Very reasonably priced and super sweet.. I will continue to come here.. No wait bc made appt and quiet environment.. I went here for lashes while visiting home. I've gotten lash extensions for years and a few months back developed an allergy to the glue. I wanted to try a different place to see if it were the type of lashes, glue or maybe the technique of my lash girl. This was not the case. They did a great job BUT, I'm sad to report that the allergy remains. I have an allergy to cyanoacrylate which is the ingredient allows the lashes to attach and be extended from your natural lash. Oh well, I tried!! Anyhow, based on the reviews, I asked for Becky. My appointment was at 10:30 and I arrived 5 minutes early. I was greeted with a smile and provided with lash options - small, medium and large. A little different from the upscale place I frequent in VA. We talked lash length in inches so this made it hard for me to decide. After a few minutes, I decided on medium and they brought me back right away. Here is where I took off a star....after taping my bottom lashes down and cleaning my top ones, Becky began applying lashes. I remembered there being a Yelp check in special so I proceeded to ask her about it. Well, Becky wasn't Becky any more. The voice of the woman was much softer and really timid. When I asked "um, are you Becky?" she replied that she was helping her because she had a customer. Excuse me, who am I??? I made an appointment with her as well. So, she stopped and left the room. All the while, my eyes are still closed. I assumed the person coming back was Becky. NOPE! Guess again!! A different woman came in. Again, I could tell by the voice. She proceeded to tell me the same thing. I reminded her that my appointment was with Becky and that's who I wanted to do my lashes. She exits and the real Becky returned. No explanation or apology. But no biggie. This was a one time thing and I'm not trying to really be besties. She finished my lashes (as far as I know because I fell asleep on the table). They looked great but after 2 days they started itching like crazy. I was prepared for this so I took Benadryl to help with the symptoms. Overall, they did a good job. They are likely more consistent with clients that frequent their business. It was different from the level of service I've received in the past but also much less expensive. We get what we pay for! They are definitely worth trying out. Clean and fast and if I didn't have the allergy, I'd check them out again when in town. read more

I used to go to a very well known lash studio off of Westheimer Rd. that has just fallen in the last year since they expanded. I was devastated because I knew it would be hard to find another salon that was trustworthy and affordable. After much research, I found Amia Lash! Becky, the stylist, is so sweet and very skilled. It's definitely much smaller than the last studio, but I think I prefer it that way because I don't worry about not getting an appointment. The fullset was only $100 for the higher quality lashes, and it took her about 2 hrs. No tugging, no pinching, just blissful napping. She always says "Goodnight!" before she goes to work on my lashes. What I love most is how she prices her refills. The less time between appointments, the less the refill will cost. For example, a refill 4 weeks from today will be $55, 3 weeks will be $45, 2 weeks will be $35, etc. Very smart set up. Still, this is something I can only afford for a few months. This brief period is shortly followed by a deep depression as my naturally lame eyelashes return. But, in the mean time, I'll look forward to my next splurge, knowing that Amia Lash will take care of me when I have money. read more

I am a pretty picky person, but I also not made of money so I needed to find a place that satisfied both of my requirement. I have to say at first impression, I was thrown back a little because it is located in an corporate building but as I enter the place there was a dainty sincere feel to the business and that only way they can survive is word of mouth. After my experience, I am definitely recommending this place to my friends, Becky did my lashes and they turn out beautiful. Full(not sparse), even from the tear ducts of my eye to the end of my lash line, and length was proportionate to my eyes. Becky has over 4+ years under her belt which explains why she is quick and knowledgeable. The tech at Amazing Lashes are fresh out of school and are slow and half the time,they even mess up. I had to go back to get it fix because I was that dissatisfied. I gave them a chance twice, even though they fix the problem i really don't want to be in there for more than 2 1/2 hours. People who think Amazing Lashes is great must never had lashes done before, so that's why people think its "AMAZING" but I know lashes and I know quality work. Becky finish me up in 1 hour and 15 min which is reasonable for the amount of work she put into my eyes. Also the quality of the eyelashes, I got the upgraded one for a small fee and they are much more natural, lighter in weight, does not seem plastic and does not irritate. They even have groupon, but I suggest you call them first before purchasing the groupon because they have in-house specials too, I usually call before buying groupons like nails or massage because availability is a big priority to me and if you can't get me in soon, then I won't buy it. This is the worst experience I have ever had for eyelashes extension. Tina, I am sorry, you are such a sweet girl, but your work sucks. I cannot blame you for all this to be frank. The glue and the mink lashes were very low quality that irritated my eyes ALL NIGHT LONG!!! Within 3 days, half of my lashes with the extensions on fell off. It took me 2 weeks for my lashes to grow back. Here is my suggestion, don't trust any feedbacks or comments, or just go to a random place you found on the internet. Trust your own eyes. What you see is what you are getting. When I saw one of my girlfriends eyelashes, I soon know that's the lashes extension I am gonna get for myself, too. I asked her what type of mascara does she use and she said these are extensions. Honestly, they were really natural looking, very full and curled perfectly. She said she came to amia lashes and gave me the number. I booked an appointment the very next week with Kim and got the medium lashes. I loved them because they looked like my natural length with mascara but just fuller. Everyone at work compliment me on my lashes and asked what mascara do I use. I told them they were extensions and they were surprised they said it looked very natural. After a while I decided to switch them to longer lashes which is even better!!
