She proceeds to put on nice soothing music nice right until she gets a phone call and talks the whole time in Spanish. Very rude and not professional. I tell her I'm burning she wasn't even paying attention . She finishes my lashes and instead of giving me the mirror she looks at herself . I'm usually last minute and they always do their best to squeeze me in. They had a promotional price when I first started going which changed after a few months, but it was not a major deal. My lashes are always to my liking, I usually have to ask for more lashes as I like a fuller look but I'm always met with corporation. If I feel like overnight or after a few days too many lashes have fallen off, I'm always told that I can come right in to fix the problem. The shop is quite far from me but I get great quality lashes that it is not a major deal. Overall, I definitely recommend ideal lash.

I loved mink lashes so much that I would drive :45 minutes just to have the same lash stylist perform her magic. But eventually the minks were discontinued, there was a change in managers and I tired of the long drive, so I was open to find another dealer to get my fix. I learned that while the animals weren't killed for their mink fur and that they were brushed for their mink, that the animals were being kept inhumanely. That was enough for me to switch and find an alternative. I was referred to Jolie at New Wink and now I drive about :25 minutes, and I've switched to a non-mink, but with the same feathery effect. If you're thinking of getting lashes done professionally and want them to last a few weeks, consider the following: 1. Avoid facial steaming since it will unstick the lash glue and your precious lash extension will fall off, leaving your natural lash intact. 2. Avoid cheap lash salons that will do whatever length and thickness you think you want since too heavy of lashes will weight your natural lashes down and cause breakage. 3. If you enjoy rubbing your eyes and crying, you may want to save your money on lash extensions. 4. Be prepared to use oil free everything (facial cleansers, facial lotions and makeup) to avoid oils on lashes that will unstick the glue. With the proper washing of your face and lashes, you will prevent any eye lid infections or lash nastiness. 5. Be sure to invest in a dry lash brush to brush out your lashes daily. 6. Be sure to invest in a lash coating product to that will clean and protect your lashes every 3 days. Does this seem like a lot of work? Well, it is at first, but you get used to it. But here are some benefits, that I have found: 7. I never need mascara ever. This reduces the need for buying mascara and mascara remover. And I've noticed less wrinkles around my eyes since I don't pull or tug around my eye area. 8. My eyes always look done up, and I often go without makeup. 9. I look more awake. More compliments, and less caffeine. 10. I can wear my full face makeup and I think my eyelashes look perfect every time without curling and mascara. The only drawbacks are: 11. The occasional eyelash pain when having them installed on your eyelashes. Since they glue an individual eyelash on each of your natural eyelashes, I have experienced an occasional poke on the eyelid during the process. Even the steadiest of hands can slip. 12. They tape down the bottom lashes during the application process. This is a weird feeling to have your eyelashes taped down (medical Micropore stuff) while you lay down with your eyes closed. Think of it as an hour long Shavasana. 13. It's another beauty ritual to add to the regular: nails, hair, threading,etc routine. 14. My lashes last me about 3 weeks, and it's way cheaper to go every 2-3 weeks for a refill versus going every month for a full set. Despite the overall pros and cons, I am an addict. And now since I have about a year's experience in lash gettin', I thought I'd Yelp share my beauty addiction. Next time I see you, be sure that I'll be winking and batting my lashes at you.

I am a recent graduate from…read moreAvenue Five Institute in Austin and a Licensed Esthetician in the state of Texas, which is reputably one of the best "beauty" school programs in the Nation.  Avenue 5 offers an auxiliary Eyelash Extension Class which I took. After finishing it, I didn't feel secure or even capable of taking on clients or charging for services. I also shadowed a friend who paid a substantial amount to train with a reputable Austin based lash brand. While it wasn't terrible it was nowhere near the quality of education from LABS.  Enter LABS. LABS did a presentation at our North Campus in Austin and I was immediately intrigued. Dee's no nonsense yet funny persona pulled me in. We discussed their training program and here is where they separate themselves from their competition. 1. They do not offer crash courses  "Learn Classic and Volume for $1200+ in just 2 days" nonsense. They are focused on EDUCATION. They offer a 2 day Classic, 2 day Advanced Classic, 2 day Volume. All separate. Why is this important? Because trying to learn a high skill cap profession in 2 days with too much source material will simply take your money and set you up for failure. LABS DOES NOT DO THAT. They focus 100% on education, retention of that education and support after you finish their class. 2. Current Proprietary Curriculum. At Avenue Five I ended up paying far too much for a lash kit and virtually no true understanding of healthy practionining. Lash Health, Work Safety and Ergonomics. We were taught methods that were dated and contrary to current trends and equipment.  With LABS you are given a solid foundation of not just performing as a lash extension technician but how to maintain body health (wrists, back, shoulders, neck), and proper eyelash consultation and evaluation (what lashes and eyes look/do best with what types of lashes). 3. Growth & Critical Feedback. I'm a firm believer that without honest critical feedback, you will never grow. If you don't like being told what you're doing is wrong -- get out of this business, you are simply doing yourself and future customers a disservice. It is paramount you know exactly how good you are, where you stand, and where you need to grow. LABS does not MESS AROUND with this. Dee is the best. She is straight up but kind and supportive all at once. She will tell you immediately that you're doing something wrong but will sit with you until you get it right. She will not give up on you or let you give up on yourself. But if you are sensitive and need to be hand held and your performance sugar coated -- beat it. Go be bad somewhere else. 4. Tools. Their glue, lashes, and instruments are some of the best I've used and I've used quite a few, including JBLashes, Borboletta, EBL, and random high rated Amazon trash. You're given a wonderful discount for training with LABS which has made a big difference in the output of my work. My lash technique and performance after 2 days in an intensive Classic Training Class with LABS changed how I looked at my future and my skills. The difference in my work was tremendous. My lashes went from looking like sad mistakes to promising artistry. I cannot recommend their training program enough. Out of all my education, my money spent here was by far the best ROI I could hope for.  I absolutely plan to come back for Advanced Classic and Volume training.  It has been 3 months since I completed my course training with LABS and to this day I can text Dee and she will walk me through my work and continues to critique and offer endless continued support.
