I mentioned that I was allergic to tomatoes and asked the bell peppers to be taken off the Shrimp Salerno. The food arrived and looked amazing, but after I ate a few bites, I vomited everything I'd had. The manager assured me that the food was not cross-contaminated, but asked me if I wanted it to be boxed-up, so I could take it to go. I a former Baltimore resident and haven't been back in 13 years due to life. I brought my wife and kids, all who have never been here, to Baltimore. We are staying right near little Italy and I asked for a recommendation for a restaurant at the hotel. They recommended Amicci's. We walked over. The atmosphere is casual but fun. Music is playing in the background, but not too loud. The bar is unique looking and has local flare, which I appreciate. The bartender made an excellent Long Island. Probably one of the best I've had in a while. They accommodated our annoying request, and got us a table with room for a stroller and highchair due to age of the kids. We sat in the room straight to the back, which was intimate, but also great for kids because there were only a few tables. The food was excellent!! I had the chicken Delores, it was super fresh and flavorful. A generous portion as well. My wife had a build your own pasta bowl with gnocchi, shrimp, broccoli, and spicy vodka sauce. Another generous portion and delicious. Full of jumbo shrimp and of course, fresh. We will be back the next time we make it to Baltimore! Don't miss this place! read more

I've been going to Amicci's for 20 years and I always get the two best things on the menu: Their fra diavolo and their pane rotundo. I haven't been to Amicci's for a couple years but decided to make a trip myself. The place is still the best restaurant in Little Italy. Sitting in the bar to watch the O's game, I figured I just fill up on apps. The burrata was the perfect balance with the spice of the fra diavolo sauce. If there was someone else with me I'd for sure get the Pane Rotundo, which could be an entire meal just for yourself. It's a massive load of Italian bread filled with jumbo shrimp and this creamy garlic scampi sauce you just want to bathe in. Like next time just give me a full body glaze. But after strategizing with my server, we both agreed the smaller plate was plenty and they wouldn't have to roll me out of the joint. This is a great place for a romantic date or bringing the whole family and friends. Tons of space in this place with lots of charm. I went for Baltimore restaurant week. They offer a great deal for restaurant week with 3 courses including a salad, entree, and dessert. When I went, they ran out of the tiramisu for their dessert option. Their gnocchi was good and the portion size was pretty big. The place is pretty big. Most dishes are around $20, but they are nowhere in quality worthy of that. I can get similar quality at Basta Pasta, and it is barely better than Olive Garden, maybe. Tonight on 4/4/26 my husband and I went to Amiccis for date nightand it was a total Disappointment to say the least. We had a good server who was on top of our service and gave recommendations. The appetizer were good meatballs and mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce and sauce had good flavor. The actual food was a total Disappointment. My husband ordered the chicken parmesan with penne pasta. His chicken parmesan was dry, overcooked, and luke warm to say it had just came from the kitchen. The pasta was not tossed in thr marinara, the marinara tasted like canned tomato versus the marinara we received eith mozzarella sticks. I ordered the baked bolognese. This dish was lacking all flavor, had too much cream in the marinara making it a faint color of pink. I have had Rosa sauce many times and make myself and it requires little cream, the whole dish was also loose/watery. When we told our server I didn't like the dish and want to send back, this is when he breaks the news that I CANNOT send my food back it THEIR policy! The server said he could send a manager over. When the manager came she of course asked what was wrong I explained and her response was "Its one of most popular dishes and can I get you a side of vodka sauce"! At no point did she offer another meal or comp the meal I did not eat. If this the Amicci policy it should be stated on menu that is a paying customer does not like food they will still be charged! No amount of sauce would have made my dish good, it was already too loose saucey. Such a disappointment in dinning experience and management poor service recovery! read more

Dinner with friends... We had 2 friends that were coming down from NJ and we agreed that Italian food in Little Italy was the way to go. I'll stress that reservations are definitely needed on a weekend. The kicker here is you can only make them the same day. Yes, I called as soon as they opened. My wife and I arrived a little early. So we just ordered a round of their Rose sangria. After our friends arrived we were seated right away. After catching up a bit, we just ordered a pitcher of the same Rose sangria. We split a small appetizer called the Panino. It had toasted garlic bread topped with shrimp, smothered in a creamy garlic scampi sauce. So good. :) Our entrees were the house gnocchi and chicken Dolores. That was with a breaded chicken breast, Italian ham, spinach & diced plum tomatoes in a garlic butter sauce over spaghetti. So very good. Our friends ordered the gnocchi and shrimp scampi. Portions here are pretty reasonably priced. Apps are about 12 and entrees roughly 20. I've loved Amiccis since I moved here 7 years ago! The food is ALWAYS divine! It a beautiful restaurant that is perfect for a family dinner or even a date night. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars this visit is the bar service. My mom and I ordered our food to go. While waiting, we decided to sit at the bar to get a drink. The bartender looked at us and continued to do what she was doing. A gentleman then came and sat down and she immediately took his drink order. We waited and waited. She not once acknowledged that we were there. This is the second time I've experienced this. It's very unfortunate because the food is amazing! You can't go wrong visiting Amicci's. We were looking for a place to eat in Little Italy and were turned down at another place (No children under 5, can you believe that?) before we thankfully found Amicci's. As soon as we walked inside we were greeted with smiles, seated right away and promptly met our server. I love their set up, you have your sports bar as you walk in to the left and then a few rooms full of tables on your right. They took the bottom floor of a house and put seating in so I guess the best description is homey :). Our table had a view of the street and you could see Vaccaro's Bakery on the corner waiting for our dessert visit! Their menu has the typical Italian restaurant pasta offerings with chicken and seafood, but minus a veal or extensive pork section. They do have Gnocchi which is a nice addition. I had to have the Shrimp Fra Diavolo - "Jumbo shrimp sauteed in our marinara sauce with cayenne pepper-this one's Hot!" at $21. The portion was huge, sauce had decent flavor with a nice hit of cayenne. The spaghetti was fresh and cooked just right. It was a big meal. The wife had a salad and the kids some spaghetti with butter. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I paired by grub with a local area rye IPA by Monument City and my wife had the Adult Grape Soda - Pinnacle Grape Vodka, Grape Pucker with Sprite. Overall experience was good. We went on Columbus Day for lunch. Front section of the restaurant was busy. I thought it stange that there was not dinner rolls or anything served before your meal like you might expect. We ended up placing an order of 4 large slices of garlic bread ($4) just to sop up all the sauce from our plates after finishing our meal. Even at $4, the Ceasar side salad looked very paltry in size and appearance especially considering lettuce is not substantial to begin with. That said, it tasted good and whetted the appetite. Kids menu items were $7 and $8 both coming with a decent portion. My son really liked the spaghetti and meatball, while the Alfredo dish seemed quite a bit bland. We had to add a bit of black pepper and salt to add some flavor. Penne Amicci was delicious. The Chicken Parmigiano was good but the thin edges were a little overcooked and dry. There is street parking and parking garages for easy parking. Drink: We had a bottle of house Moscato. Originally I wanted a glass, but I was told that the Moscato was only sold by the bottle. The price was $20 which was not bad for a restaurant, the wine itself was nice. Food: We all had the Restaurant Week Special: a $25 3-course meal of one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert. I had the Ceasar Salad, Chicken Parmigiana & the Cannoli. My husband had the House Salad, Penny's Gnocci & Tiramisu. We also ordered a side of Garlic Bread. The salads were fresh, with a perfect amount of dressing. The entrees were very large portions! They came out hot, fresh and tasted amazing. The desserts were also a sweet ending to the meal. I got the Penne La Rosa, which was delicious! the shrimp was perfectly cooked and the sauce was amazing. The serving size was appropriate for the cost (21$) in my opinion. I had a few leftovers too due to having some garlic bread and salad on the side. The inside was tastefully decorated with a lot of different art and things to look at. Our work event ended early so two of us wandered over to Little Italy at 5. My colleague had their delivery and wanted to try the in-person experience, and I have never been there. Seating was prompt and friendly. We had menus for drinks and food, and the wait staff checked in thoughtfully. We started with appetizers: meatballs, blistered tomatoes with burrata, and fried Italian dumplings with rice, perfectly seasoned meat and mozzarella. Each came with a lovely sauce and two slices of Italian bread, perfect for sopping up the tomato sauces or blend of balsamic vinegar and burrata cream. We ordered our appetizers and entrees at the same time so when we were finishing these, our entrees arrived, and we were already a little full! Chicken Parmesan and Shrimp Ricardo were started, enjoyed, with leftovers being packed up. Chicken was moist and tender within its seasoned crust. Sauce can be either traditional tomato or meat sauce, we went for the former but the latter is also tasty from delivery experience. Shrimp Ricardo was full of large shrimp and a spicy-at-a-complimentary level vodka sauce. Not a dish for people who prefer near-mild, but not as spicy as Fra Diavolo. Chunks of savory tomato were mixed in with the sauce. We both opted for the fresh parmigiana being grated over the dish. We went home full and happy. Great ambiance, we were dressed for our work retreat, nearby there were two best friends catching up, a family around the corner, and bar seating was on the other side of the floor. Lots of natural and soft lighting on the first floor. It was easy to make conversation and enjoy a delicious meal with our neighboring patrons. Its a staple in little italy, the perfect place to go mid day for a working lunch.. a great place for an afternoon cocktail with friends and in the summer their little outdoor tables are the perfect place for a first date. The pasta dishes are plentiful and the prices are reasonable for what you get. They also have pretty good take out specials so its a great place to grab dinner to go. Came on valentines day and sat at the bar. The bartenders were great and super efficient. The food was incredible. But there was a woman who seemed to be a manager, she was wearing a light pink lace shirt with a black three quarter cardigan (yes I'm being specific) that really disappointed me. She was putting away newly washed glasses and I noticed a stack was still dirty. Thinking I was being helpful I told her they were dirty, trying to prevent making a drink (3 drinks actually) that would be wasted when the person received a dirty glass. She took the glasses and put them in the dirty area but never looked at me or said thanks or anything and even acted bothered. I took it a step further and, with a smile, said I hope that was helpful. Nothing. Look- I know things get busy but to be busy is a blessing, it's a good problem to have. Being rude to your customers who are patronizing your business seems counterproductive. And of course it's all I thought about the rest of the meal, caught between being bothered by her rudeness and trying not to let it ruin the experience but she was around a lot and now I felt like a bother, like I did something wrong. Went to Amicci's last night. Worst experience ever. First, the menu is very small. My kid is a picky eater and there were "0" items on the menu that he could eat. I always carry snacks, so he had a drink and snacks. Next, I ordered my meal and a side pasta. Ya'll no lie, this guy brought me dry pasta, no sauce. He says but you didn't say you wanted sauce. So I had to wait for the sauce to be prepared. Meanwhile my pasta sits, untouched, getting cold, cause it took a good 20-25 minutes for him to come back with sauce. At this point, I'm irritated and uninterested in cold pasta. So I ask to have it removed, to which he says I cannot remove it from your bill. My first response is, "Who's paying for it? Not me!" I wasn't going to pay $18 for food I could not enjoy. So the manager comes out. When I say a nasty lady, that's an understatement. In all my dining out experiences, I've never encountered such a rude manager. She basically says it's my fault and they're not going to remove it from the bill. She offers to go warm up the pasta-ma'am no thank you, so you can spit in my food? I'll pass. Long story short, I had to pay $4. It was the disrespect for me. 0 out 10, I do not recommend. read more
