Duck Ravioli
Ashley W.

We made a last minute reservation for three on a Saturday night around 6:30 and we were easily accommodated. We only had an hour and a half and were able to get drinks, appetizers, and entrees- all within that time. We ordered the calamari and crab toast as appetizers and I'd say my favorite was the crab toast. The calamari was just okay. For our entrees we ordered the lobster and crab ravioli, pasta carbonara, and the duck ravioli. The duck ravioli was by far my favorite. It was seasoned so well. The restaurant was a very intimate setting and very welcoming. I will be back.

Picked this place as a short walk from The Lyric for an evening show. Booked a table for two on Open Table to be sure we had a reservation. Arrived early before dinner time rush on a Saturday. Initially, they wanted to seat us upstairs, where there was no AC, then we were ushered to the basement. I declined and was about to leave when they agreed to seat us on the main floor. Either diners call and request the main floor or they prefer to save the tables for the main rush. If reserving via OT, ask for the main floor. Staff are friendly and attentive. Food is really good and plentiful. It can get a little loud, but a good Italian if you're hungry

I am leaving here fat and happy and warm. The waiter was great! Super attentive and speedy. The restaurant itself was cozy and welcoming! Very retro and Italian feeling. We sat upstairs and it was so cozy. It was nice being able to see the whole place. We didn't have a reservation, but thankfully there was an open table! Definitely recommend if you go on a weekend night! It was jumping. And for good reason. This is some of the best Italian food ive had in baltimore. The bread and oil? Oh my goooood. The baguette had a perfect crust and crumb was fluffy and dense and delicious. The oil was spicy and cheesy and rich. A perfect balance. I got the linguine in calm sauce and it knocked my socks off. There were so many actual clams in it I was shocked. It was lemony and spicy and creamy. My partner got the carbonara and he said it was phenomenal. I got the house Pinot noir and he got a chai old fashioned.

The host (woman with an Italian accent) was damn fabulous! Joey the bartender was as well. It is a gem of a place!! Love love love. Thank you Sammy's for a wonderful experience!

First time having Italian food in Baltimore. This place has charm and definitely has history behind it. You had your locals who come who were very pleasant. Nice family vibe inside. The waitresses were awesome. We liked them very much. I ordered The Alfredo with shrimp. Big portion of shrimp, It was the best I've ever had. Noodles seemed home made, Only thing is less olive oil in it for my preference. The Bread. Holy Jesus the Bread with their fresh garlic dip oil absolute heaven. Family style house salad was delish. If you're a family looking for nice Italian food this is the perfect spot. Thank you Sammy's.

Finally had a chance to check out Sammy's after being a bit Little Italy adventurer! Being walking distance from Little Italy makes it so easy to go there for dinner but Sammy's is worth the trek to Mt. Vernon!!!! The service is great- I love the unlimited bread service and the garlic-parm olive oil to dip it in is DIVINE!!!!! Seriously, we put it on EVERYTHING! The bruschetta was authentic and delish with the olives and capers. The burrata on the eggplant was unique and delish. The pasta was perfectly al dente- the vodka sauce being my fave! The mushroom sage sauce for the gnocchi was yummy as well. The pizza had a crisp bottom and great flavor. The eggplant parm was excellent! This was the perfect family style girls night! We also had a hibiscus marg, the limoncello spritz, and the bartender's creation of a mocktail for our pregnant friend! All drinks were incredible. Cannot wait to come back to try more items on the menu!

I am so glad I finally made it to Sammy's. From the service to the food, I was completely and overly satisfied. I was thinking about my next visit before the bill even came. Our server was attentive, even on a packed night. He gave great suggestions. I ordered the Ravioli (Mushroom/Brown Butter Sage style) which I loved. I was full by the end of the meal, but could not pass on dessert. It was some sort of lemonberry cake with cheesecake as well. Either way, I would order a hundred slices, and never be tired of it. Sammy's is great for groups, date nights, girls night out, family affairs, and literally anything else you could think of because there is so much space.

Made a reservation since we were feeling nostalgic for that classic Italian American dinner that you don't quite get in the DMV. The dining room is definitely a bit loud, cramped, and the staff are true to the theme, but I can't say I had a bad dish. I got the papardelle with sausage added while my partner got a chicken dish I can't remember now. We also had bread to start (so warm, so good!) and got scallops as an app. We finished off with cake and a cannoli, and definitely brought home the leftovers from dinner because this was a heavy dinner. Gotta say though, as a Philly native, something about the Italians always feel like home and this was definitely one of those experiences. A spendy evening but we got our money's worth.

After ordering food, I took the kids to the bocce court while my partner could enjoy the wine and watch us from above. I know he appreciated having the break and a good glass of wine to go with it. Service was friendly and the food was fantastic. We ordered several dishes including several types of pasta, meatballs, cheesy bread and a caesar salad. There was about 8 of us and we were seated downstairs in the bar area at a high top. Despite there being a reservation, it felt like our party was a last minute thought. The table was cramped and the ambiance of the downstairs bar area was dingy and dimly-lit. Our server, who was also the only bartender, did his best to multi task all night, although his demeanor was not very warm or friendly. I ordered the gluten free version of the Samantha fettuccine. Despite this being the only noodle they don't make in house, I had to pay extra for it. Annoying, but not totally unexpected. What was disappointing was the total price for the dish. It came out to be almost $50.... I believe the pasta is marked as market price due to the inclusion of crab meat but when it arrived, there was barely any in the dish. The flavor of the sauce was good but definitely not worth the price tag. I won't be returning anytime soon.

I had an opportunity during the week to stop in during lunch as I have had this on my "to go" list…read more I was able to get parking right at the restaurant without an issue; but be mindful this is not possible most days and times. Parking is tight around this area. The restaurant did not have signage viewable directing to the entrance. Entrance is through a terrace area in which there is outdoor seating and great vibing view (on a cooler and better day then this partucular day with temperatures over 100°. Entrance was made at the lower level(bar area) and greetings were made from the bartender. I then walked up the stairs to the hostess desk and was greeted again by the young lady. We were seated in a formal dining area. This is a casual to upscale dining experience. I was dressed not so casual but was not feeling out of place as it was not a lot of people inside. One large seemingly work group dining together. Hostess/waitress placed refreshing cold glasses of water on the table. I needed to wash my hands before my dining experience and meal. I asked the hostess/waitress for the location of restroom. She guided me to such. While walking to the restroom, I was able to see multiple food prep areas (open kitchen stove area, guy in another sections rolling and prepping raw ground meatballs another guy in another area. All food areas seemed neat and clean. Employees also using food prep gloves. I finally got to the restroom. Immaculately clean and smell fresh. The decor was warm and continued the asthetics of the restaurant. When I came back to the table I looked over the simple and minimalist menu. Its not overwhelming with a lot to chose from. The waitress explained the menu and when it came down to the pasta dishes she expressed the size of the half vs full. Her described portion of half was the size of a handful and the full was that of two hand fulls. I chose the bolognese (half), meatballs, and my dining guest chose a caesar salad with grilled chicken added. We decided on no other beverages beyond the water. The food came out quickly. The described size portions were as such. I was thinking the size would be not as small as it was. For a grown man or someone hungry, the half portion will not be filling. The salad came out portioned as the pasta. A handful of caesar with a large uncooked chicken breast. The meatballs (3 total) was a great portion. I found my bolognese and the meatballs to be on the side of a bit salty. My dining guest found the salad to be on the salty side as well. I enjoyed the ambiance and calm dining area but the food did not wow me. From the portions, to the taste and then the price. The caesar salad was $17 and $11 for the chicken breast that was not proportion with the hand full of romaine placed on a plate and uncut was too pricey ($28 total). They charge a 3% facility fee on to the check. Paying $80 for this experience was not justified. I am able to knock this off my list of "to go" I may take another look at coming here again but I for now will not consider anytime soon due to my first experience of the salty food. Other than the taste and portion its not a bad vibing experience.

I'm still looking for a smooth sauce for some chicken parm, but no worries since the menu here has plenty of different sauce options! I enjoyed the chicken francese. The chicken was very tender and it was a generous portion. I felt it could have used a bit more flavor, but the sauce was a nice consistency and the linguine was cooked perfectly. Dalesios of Little Italy has been open since 1984 and has been serving great Italian dishes in the heart of Baltimore's Little Italy. Walking inside, the restaurant is tastefully decorated. It screams old world, European charm with it's unique art adorning the walls. I'm seated in the first dining room, closest to the front door. There's a bar inside this room which adds to the Italian decor. First time here, I don't know the restaurants portion sizes. Is it family style where one plate can feed a small army? The portion size was perfect. I ordered a nice glass of Italian wine and the Scampi & Crab Alla Sardegna. The pasta dish was amazing. The pasta was cooked perfect al dente and the Scampi & Crab sauce was something unique to Baltimore. It's Crab & Shrimp simmered in a cognac, garlic & tomato cream sauce. All of this goodness is served over linguine. I love Maryland Crabs and to have them topped in a pasta dish makes my heart sing. I highly recommend this dish. My waiter was very informative, he made some great dinner suggestions but I first had to try the Scampi & Crab Alla Sardegna. The next time I come I'm going to order the Lasagna!
