Little Italy has a lot of good Italian food options, and Amicci's is no exception. This place is super cozy, dimly lit, and perfect for a romantic date night. My girlfriend and I shared the mozzarella as an appetizer, which were delicious. I do think they could have been heated more on the inside so the cheese was more stringy, but they certainly weren't lacking in flavor, and the marinara dipping sauce was amazing. My entree was the chicken parmigiana, which was also excellent. This also might be random, but I thought the tap water here was excellent. I travel extensively and I'm always a little hesitant to order on D**rdash- but sometimes you do what you gotta do. This looked so promising and since it was so close to the "little Italy" area of Baltimore inner harbor ~ I was so excited. Lots of issues. First- it was swimming in sauce- to the extent I thought I had received a soup. The peas were rock hard (oddly) but the most disappointing was the fact that the pasta was just total mush. I wish I could have eaten it- but it was overly salty (probably the ham ~ but that should be adjusted for). Just overall disappointing- especially for a place with decent ratings. Spousal Unit and I took the GrandKiddies to see Wicked: The Musical during their post-Christmas visit. It was great - but our pre-theater dinner at Amicci's was a letdown. The good: we were able to get a same-day reservation for a party of 9 without any hassle (yay!). We were seated immediately and given time to review the menu. We have picky eaters in the group, and the menu was able to handle all of them. We were able to quickly put in our orders and had time to relax before chowing down - easy to do as the restaurant was quiet and warm on a cold, windy night. The less good: the food was, well, mostly meh. We ordered garlic bread and fried mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce to start. Generally guaranteed kid pleasers, but the bread was toasted a bit too much, and the mozz sticks had too much breading (although the marinara sauce was INCREDIBLE!!!!!). Mains for the adults included eggplant parm, Pepino's Lasagna, Shrimp Scampi, and Shrimp Fra Diavolo. The sauces were mostly on the spicy side, as promised, but looking back we all wished we had ordered pasta with that simple marinara sauce. I really enjoyed the lasagna, and had enough left over for lunch the next day (yay again). The other adults noted that their pasta was overcooked. The kids went for the "make your own" deal to accommodate their varying preferences. None of them finished their food, not because the portions were too big, but because they weren't fans. This was with a brand new girlfriend, our 1st date as a developing couple. She & I were friends for over a year prior to our 1st date, which Chicago concert that I won tickets to a pretty impressive 1st date. Although my current girlfriend & I first date in February 2024 was the Washington Capitals hockey game. I parked in the Little Italy parking garage conveniently located right by Amicci's in the Little Italy neighborhood of Baltimore. Amicci's is amongst the best of a great cluster of various Italian restaurants. I got a lobster pasta dish, which was outstanding. It's a cute, small restaurant. Server was nice. Price was less nice, but on par with similar Italian, but this was one of the best Italian places I've been to. Overall, if I'm ever in Little Italy, I'd come back to Amicci's. read more

Cute spot with blue chairs out front, granite tables and wood chairs inside. Neighborhood style Italian eatery. Fettuccine Alfredo was kinda bland. Needed salt, pepper, and maybe some more flavor. A little garlic maybe.. There is no table bread an almost unforgivable sin when eating Italian food. So I ordered the garlic bread appetizer. Not bad, good bread and I think you get your value. The service was lacking, despite most tables. Nice guy, but he did not anticipate. Also. very strange. They only give you one napkin with your silverware, not even a proper dining cloth napkin. For the table, we ordered fried calamari, garlic bread, shrimp and burrata fra diavolo, and blistered tomatoes & burrata. Everything was great. I cannot think of a simple compliant. For my entree, I had the Shrimp Ricardo which was 10/10. I'm so sad that I didn't have a microwave in the hotel to reheat my leftovers. There was so much of it and I am salivating thinking of it lol. Stopped by Amicci's on a Sunday after church for lunch. Upon entering, we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server came over, welcomed us, and took our order. For an appetizer, we chose The Panino--garlic bread topped with shrimp in a garlic scampi sauce. The dish was excellent; I loved that the bread maintained its shape and texture despite soaking in the sauce. For my entrée, I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and requested linguini instead of spaghetti. They didn't have linguini, so I had fettuccine instead. The chicken was flavorful and well-cooked, and the sauce was amazing, with nice chunks of tomatoes. However, the noodles were overcooked, which really took away from the dish. I ordered a Shirley Temple for my drink, but it was initially made with seltzer water, so I had to send it back. The server apologized, explaining that the Sprite must have been out, and remade it. It tasted better but still wasn't the best Shirley Temple I've had, which was surprising since they're usually hard to mess up. It was an okay experience. I would return, but I'd order a different entrée and drink--though I'd definitely get the same appetizer again. Things to Note: * Parking in this area can be a bit of a challenge, so plan ahead. * No free refills on Shirley Temples (at least in our case). I had one, my friend had two, and the total was $10.50 for all three. * I was surprised the pasta dish didn't come with bread or a salad--it was just the entrée. This was one of seven stops on our food trail across Baltimore. (See other reviews for the rest.) No food trip to Baltimore can be considered complete without a stop in Little Italy. We chose Amicci based on recommendations. This is a tail of two reviews. The first is the food, the second is the service and the kitchen and the general interface with diners. Let's get the second of these out of the way. The restaurant has opted not to take reservations until the day of. This is a little stressful if you want to make plans, but we wanted to eat here. So we called while eating breakfast (at David and Dad's, see other review) and we easily got a reservation for 8 pm. As the hour approached that evening, we were not able to get there by 8 pm (thanks, Lyft) so I called just before 730 and begged to move the reservation to 8:30. Amicci was more than accommodating, they were seemingly cheerful to help me. So +2 for them, this was above and beyond. Upon arriving we were seated at a small table (maybe 30 by 30) but beggers can't be choosers. We placed our order, which included a salad, arancini, panino, side dish of spaghetti, and a penne main dish. To our surprise it all arrived at once, no courses. It literally could not fit on the table. We asked the server to hold off on the salad until we had room. He hesitated and said it might already be made and would be sitting in a hot window. There was nothing we could say, there was literally no room. So it waited. I would have hoped they could have given the ready side ceasar to the next needing table. no, when it finally got delivered it was indeed warm-weary from sitting under a heat lamp or whatever. To make room on the table for the salad, wife asked the server to box her arancini to go so that there was room. The server did so -- then plopped the take out in the middle of the table for us to deal with and taking up the space it had previously occupied. Elsewise on service, no drink refills, no check on the meal. He was, to be a little bit understanding, dealing with a 6-top of difficult people who were sending back cocktails for gods sake. And another 2 top. But we were fairly neglected. So back to the first review topic, the food. Other than the salad previously mentioned (disappointing) most of the rest was very good. The panino ("the baby version of our signature appetizer- four pieces of toasted garlic bread topped with shrimp, smothered in our creamy, garlic scampi sauce") was rich and tasty with large shrimp on top smothered in a shrimp cream sauce. Could have been a meal. The arancini ("two risotto balls stuffed with beef and mozzarella, rolled in breadcrumbs and lightly fried. served with marinara sauce" were also full of flavor but a weird texture -- it seems the risotto was made into a mush rather than having any remaining ricey appearance or texture, almost a dough. A little strange but still good. The Penne Amicci ("penne pasta sauteed with Italian sausage, fresh mushrooms, garlic, and spinach in our marinara sauce") was just excellent. So excellent I kept thinking about my leftovers until I could finally, finally eat them two days later -- for breakfast. The marinara was the star, these folks don't mess around. And the sausage they use is perfect. Only complaint: this is an Italian restaurant. Why was there no bread to compliment the pasta dish and soak up the leftover sauce? Seriously. The obvious answer to all my cited shortcomings is that this is a very affordable restaurant (if you don't believe me see their website, they position themselves as such.) So I guess if I want better trained staff or a bigger table or whatever, I should expect to pay more. And that is fair. So based on what Amicci's claims to be (not comparing it to Michelin rated Italian) I guess this has to be a four plus star rating. And I would return for that penne dish if nothing else. read more

Reviewing this based on the $20 carry out deal, which is an absolute steal. Staff were super quick to ring me up when I arrived, and I saw signs about happy hour deals that made me want to sit at the cozy little bar I passed. I ordered the caesar salad, house gnocchi with spicy vodka sauce, and tiramisu. The caesar salad was okay--just croutons and lettuce, but the croutons were clearly house-made from their garlic bread so no complaints there. The dressing was thinner than store bought caesar, which I liked, and had parmesan tossed into it. The gnocchi was soft and chewy, and the toppings paired well even though I switched sauces. The portion was big enough for leftovers. The tiramisu was a little too sweet (not enough coffee flavor) for my liking. I definitely agree with others here though that it's dry for a tiramisu and needs a heavy pour of espresso. Overall, I thought the meal was great, especially for its value. I'd for sure order this deal again, but probably with a different dessert next time. read more

Had the opportunity to visit Amicci's in Baltimore and have enjoyed a great experience. We visited on a Monday evening just before the dinner rush and was able to get a nice table without any problem. Our server was quick to recommend some appetizers and take our drink order. We tried the house Cabernet and was very good. We ordered some meatball appetizer with marinara and bread which was a generous portion. Amicci's has a bar and can accommodate a drink while waiting for you table or party. Seating is a little tight so be patient as it's easy to hear conversations from other patrons. Food was perfectly seasoned and was very quick to receive once ordered, and our server was constantly checking on us to ensure we were taken care of. We tried Amicci's tonight because we never have and we usually go to another Italian restaurant in Little Italy. We thought the food was very good but there could be some improvement in other areas. For starters, we figured being an Italian restaurant in Little Italy, they'd bring bread to the table. Nope. You could buy garlic bread, which we did. The other thing that was kinda 'meh' was the music. They were playing 80s light rock or something like that (Journey, etc). I figured they might play actual Italian music. If you want a solid homemade Italian dinner, Amicci's delivers that to you. I had the Penne La Rosa and my husband had the baked rigatoni. The shrimp were huge and cooked to perfection. The baked rigatoni had the perfect balance of sauce with a healthy topping of mozzarella baked on top. It is a lot of food...so bring a big appetite! The side Cesar salads were a perfect start to the dinner. If you want bread, you do have to pay for 4 slices of garlic bread. It's very good and nice sized slices. A friend of mine told me about Amicci's weekly special - 3 courses for $20 take-out only. I was blown away at this deal and immediately had to try. I ordered their Penne La Rosa and was not disappointed. Flavorful, creamy. They give you so much pasta. It lasted me about 3-4 days. The only thing is that I wish that the shrimp was cooked a minute or two less. Seemed a bit overcooked consistency wise. But the dish altogether was good. The salad and house made dressing was amazing. Tiramisu is my favorite dessert ever, so be default, this was my 3rd course option. The tiramisu was not good or authentic at all. It was like a dense yellow cake consistency with whipped cream and cocoa powder. I'll definitely pass on the tiramisu next time, however the pasta dish and the salad made up for it for sure. read more

I really wanted to love this place as we reviewed several different restaurant menus and Amicci's was the place that my husband ultimately wanted to go to for his birthday dinner. Ease of reservation: HORRIBLE. I contacted them a month in advance to reserve and they said that i had to CALL THE MORNING OF his birthday. it was so stressful planning as nothing was set in stone until the day of and i had no backup plan so i set an alarm for 9am on his birthday to reserve for 13 people. WHY they won't take large group reservations in advance is beyond me. PRICE: OVERPRICED FOR THE QUALITY There were 13 of us and the dinner averaged to about $42 per person. We got 2 pitchers of sangria, a couple of sodas, 2 calamari appetizers , 3 meatball appetizers, their bread and shrimp appetizer special and then the 13 dinners. FOOD: SO DISAPPOINTING The meatballs were incredibly salty, the calamari was OK, the 2 lasagna dishes came out cold, my husband's pasta while tasty was cold, the eggplant parmesan was salty, the salmon was dry and salty; the only flavor was salt. My cousin's shrimp dish came out last almost when everyone was near done eating. Her shrimp was burnt and even the sauce tasted burnt so when it finally did arrive, we had to send it back, She ended up just taking the improved version home since everyone was done. My daughter enjoyed her gnocchi and I enjoyed the shrimp fra diavolo. OVERALL: I hate to say it but it was one of the worst dinners we've ever had. It was so awkward because everyone had a complaint but no one wanted to ruin the birthday and complain and keep sending the food back. The ambiance OK and the service was nice. It was pretty good if you like drinks with jalapenos in it. My aunt ordered the coconut lime crush. She said it was good. So for the lunch special restaurant week meal I ordered the salad and lasagna. My aunt ordered the salad and chicken parmigiana. Both meals were just $10.00 for the restaurant week lunch specials. The meals were plenty and did not disappoint. Everything was hot and fresh. For the restaurant week special you could get the same meals for carry out for the same price. So, I ordered one of each and gave the carryout orders to my neighbors to enjoy for dinner. If you get a chance check them out. If your on a budget this will definitely be a good choice. They also have a dinner menu as well for restaurant week. Dinner dine in is $25.00 and for carryout is $20.00. You get a salad, entree and dessert for that price. With so many options in Little Italy, it was a little difficult to choose where to eat. After scouring reviews, we went with Amicci's and were not disappointed. We had a reservation to be safe, though it wasn't necessary on a Thursday in late August. They were busy, but there were tables available. The staff was also very attentive and kept things moving without making you feel rushed. Inside, it is nicely decorated with Baltimore-inspired art and a casual flair. We ordered The Panino to start, and it was amazing. We could have kept eating that and would have been happy. Next time I think we'll have to go big and get the full-sized Pane Rotundo. Or maybe just get that followed by the shrimp scampi because that sauce was so scrumptious. For our meals we had the chicken parm and lasagna. Both were delicious. Baltimore is known for its red sauce joints in Little Italy. We were excited to try one out for lunch. Being that we had to eat earlier than many of the places opened, we opted for Amiccis. Located in a converted space, the restaurant is full of colorful artwork. There are many tables to choose from but the location does not feel crowded. The service was very friendly and helpful. We opted for the fried calamari as an appetizer. These were pretty big pieces of calamari rather than the regular little rings. More than the size you could just pop in your mouth, many had to be cut first. But, that didn't stop them from being tender. The calamari were accompanied by a nice bright tomato sauce for dipping which we used later for the side order of garlic bread. For entrees, we selected the lasagna and the Penne Amicci. Both were a generous serving and arrived hot to the table. The penne had some great sausages and a bit of heat which we enjoyed. The lasagna was a little more subtle in flavor and definitely leaned more into the cheese than the meat. It was ok but the penne was definitely our favorite. For dessert, we had the tiramisu which was also a big enough piece to share and was fine. In general, we look for a little more heat and spice in our entrees. I wish there had been some red pepper flakes on the table. Next visit to Little Italy, we will probably continue our search for the ideal red sauce place. read more

I mentioned that I was allergic to tomatoes and asked the bell peppers to be taken off the Shrimp Salerno. The food arrived and looked amazing, but after I ate a few bites, I vomited everything I'd had. The manager assured me that the food was not cross-contaminated, but asked me if I wanted it to be boxed-up, so I could take it to go.
