Wonderful staff and amazing food, kicking myself for not getting here sooner! The espresso martini flight was so worth it!

Dennis was absolutely fantastic. The best server I've had in ages. Attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience feel special. We never had an empty water or had to ask twice for anything. We started with the mozzarella logs, which were fresh, crispy, and delicious. The spaghetti egg rolls were a fun and unexpected twist, super filling and packed with interesting flavors. The pizza was solid, though cooked a bit more than I usually prefer. The fra diavola had a nice kick and came in a generous portion. The build-your-own pasta bowl was enormous, overflowing with pasta and all the toppings we picked. I also tried the short rib dish. It was good, but at $30, I'm still deciding if it was worth it. It arrived lukewarm, so I'll reheat the leftovers and see how it holds up. Dessert was fun: the homemade chip-witch! Warm cookies that tasted way better than they looked , with melty homemade ice cream in between. A perfect finish which we split 4 ways. It is much smaller than I expected inside. I would make a reservation on weekends during busy hours just to be safe. We walked in at 8p on a Saturday and had our pick of a table. This is a local Italian restaurant with charm. Easy to find on Belair Rd, with a shared private parking lot for easy parking. The restaurant is on the smaller side but doesn't feel cramped. We had calamari as an appetizer which was good and was delivered quickly. My entree was the prosciutto pizza which was good. My mother has veal parmesan and really enjoyed it. The restaurant was crowded when we went and all of our entrees too a very long time to come out of the kitchen. This was my second time hear and the first time there were no issues with timely food delivery. I'd usually give 3 stars but out waitress Cindy was outstanding. The customer service was excellent. I was greeted and attended to immediately upon sitting down. While the salmon and risotto leaned a bit salty and the asparagus was on the skinny side, the meal was satisfying overall. The real standout, though was the martinis! Absolutely top notch. We recently dined here and was warmly welcomed by Cindy, who was very friendly and pleasant -- her hospitality really stood out and made the experience more enjoyable. As for the food, while the portion sizes were generous and filling, the pasta didn't quite hit the mark. We loved the calamari and Massoni's mussels. What a beautiful restaurant, well decorated and many servers. For this event, we were sitting in a room in the back. Warmed bread was good with butter. Then came the salad, house dressing was nice and fresh, more dressing would have better . The group was generally pleased. So far. The main coarse offered. I ordered Chicken with a white sauce and my husband had an Italian cold cut sub...very tasty and fresh. No dessert. All was in all it was a good meal, we plan on visiting. This was my 3rd visit to Massoni's and again not disappointed! We started with the Espresso Martini flight, AWSOME!! On to the appetizers! We ordered the Crab Dip that was more then enough for the 5 of us. We also tried the Shrimp Gondola, WOW is all I can say. After all the apps I only had room for Pizza which was wonderful with fresh veggies and a tasty marinara sauce. I finished up with Mamma's homemade Ice Cream, stick me with a fork, I'm stuffed! How this place is only rated 3.5 stars is beyond me! I travel for a living and eat at restaurants 5 days a week and this place is a solid 4,5 stars if not a 5! I'm now back home in Texas and look forward to my next trip to Baltimore to again enjoy a fresh, like home made meal at Massoni's! Oh, did I mention, they will treat you like Family!!! My party of four had never been here so we were excited to try it. However, none of us enjoyed our entrees. First they brought bread that was stale and crunchy except for a tiny spot in the middle. (The 2nd bread basket was fresh) My lemon basil chicken had absolutely zero lemon or flavor in the cream sauce. The spaghetti and meatballs had bland marinara, the penne was cooked less than aldente and the lasagna had the same bland marinara. We let our server know of our dissatisfaction but no effort was made to make it right. We won't be returning. read more

What a hidden gem! Decided to try something new on a rainy Friday evening and I'm so glad I did. The bartender was super sweet and attentive. We were torn between the (homemade!) mozzarella sticks and the spaghetti egg rolls for an appetizer. We decided to go with the egg rolls and they were hand down the best egg rolls I've ever had. We shared a pepperoni pizza, and I never thought I'd say this but it was even better than Matthews pizza. The pepperoni was so crispy that it was almost like bacon. And the sauce! They need to jar and sell that sauce! This was one of those meals I won't soon forget, and I can't wait to go back and try other things. read more

Zero stars if I could. Burned chicken parm. Twice. A "Basil Smash" with no basil. Menus advertising Thursday Drink specials the bar refuses to honor without a battle. When we asked about the missing discount, the bar manager, Terry, shrugged and said: "Those menus are six years old." And still handed to customers. That's not a mistake, that's a scam. Food: awful. We had a party of 6 after my sons' college graduation. Service was good and efficient. The food is usually really good here, but not this time. Usually, they bring bread for the table automatically, not this time. We had to ask for it. The calamari was over cooked and rubbery. The breading wouldn't stick to it. The Italian Nachos were soaked in oil. There was so much oil that it filled the bottom of the plate that the nachos were on. My oldest son ordered the Pot Pie. It was very salty. Almost like they spilled salt in it. My youngest son ordered the Ceaser Chicken Sandwiches. They were overcooked and the coating was burnt. For some reason, the bottom of the rolls were covered in grease. I ordered the Cheesy Wizzy pizza, the sausage on it just didn't smell right and had an off taste. (like it was going bad). My wifes meatballs were good. My daughters and my sons' girlfriend got the Penne ala Vodka. They said that it was a little bland. Overall, the best part of the meal was the side salads and the bread. There was really no point in complaining when there was something wrong with each persons meal. I really don't think they could have fixed everything to satisfy us. We asked for togo boxes. We just wanted to get out of there. We just ended up throwing most of it out. It seems like this place has declined in the past few months. What an overlooked gem for lunch. They have lunch specials as well as the regular menu. My friend had the shrimp bruschetta, which had prawns, not shrimp (they were huge) and a large Caesar salad. I had the flatbread with fig, prosciutto, and goat cheese. Delicious! Maybe even too much goat cheese, but then people would complain it's not enough! And the ricotta cake - perfect for splitting. Feeling super hungry, decided upon Massoni's for some pizza. My mom bought a pizza from them a couple of weeks ago and it was really good! This time around was extremely disappointing. I called and put my order in. The lady that took my order was extremely nice, so no issues there. I looked at the menu that was taken by another Yelper, which stated that a cheese pizza was $7. The photo was taken only three months ago, but they have since upped the pizza price to $12, which I unfortunately found out once I got to the restaurant. I added sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms at about .75 cents each. I also purchased a cannoli. The desserts aren't on the menu, so I called the restaurant to add a cannoli to my order. I didn't bother to ask the price at the time, but I later found out at the time of purchase that it was $5. I sucked it up, because I figured it had to have been a nice sized dessert (we'll get to that part in a bit.) As I stated before, the pizza my mom purchased from Massoni's was tasty and very good. When I opened my box, I was surprised to see a pizza that didn't look like the one that my mom brought. This pizza was dry and semi-burnt. It wasn't cheesy, and as a matter of fact, the cheese was fairly scarce. I took a few pics before I ate it, but I already knew that it wasn't going to be the best pizza from the looks of it. The toppings were good, especially the sausage. I'll give them that. But the crust gave my mouth a jaw workout! It was so hard! I was sorely disappointed & wished I had checked the box before I left the restaurant. I could've been a bad moment for them, but it was fairly early in the day, and the restaurant wasn't exceptionally busy. The cook could've gotten distracted, but regardless, it wasn't very good. The cannoli was just okay and not worth the $5 price tag. It could've been the chocolate chips mixed in the cannoli filling, but it had a slight bitter taste to it. The cannoli dough was really good, though- crispy, light and sweet. Overall, it wasn't the best I've had. I really would love to try their other dishes, but I'm actually afraid that I may make another unfortunate mistake. I mean, pizza is the easiest thing on the menu to make! For a medium sized pizza and a cannoli, I spent twenty bucks, without tip. I don't mind spending the money if the food is good, but this wasn't it. There are other pizza spots in the neighborhood, so maybe I'll peruse a few until I find the perfect one. read more

I will start by saying the food was delicious but service sucked. We were seated promptly for our 5:30 reservation. By 5:55 no one had come to help us so we had to flag someone down who said "the hostess must not have assigned someone". Waitress was not friendly and didn't apologize for the wait. Food came out and she did check on us maybe every 20 mins. After she brought dessert, we didn't see her for 30 mins and I had to wait by the kitchen door to get her attention to get our check. Overall, we were there for 3 hours, but 1 hour was pure waiting. The place isn't big at all so I just didn't understand. Very disappointing. read more

Let me start by saying I was EXCITED to try this place. I've hyped it up since they opened and finally got to try it last weekend. I will never go back. Wings were chewy and not even hot, my kid's mac & cheese was gross to say the least. The chicken parm was HUGE but not good at all. We had 8 adults, 2 kids and a toddler, and only 2 of us actually liked what we got. We didn't complain about everything because they're obviously not going to comp the whole table. The soda machines weren't working, so they were all gross. The waitress didn't seem like any of what we had to say mattered... I wanted to love this place because Italian food is my GO TO! It is what I eat when I want nothing else and I love going to locally owned places, but I will not return. I will not recommend this place to any of my friends, and honestly that makes me sad. read more

The food is excellent, and the staff encourages folks with recommendations. Chris, the lady who makes the ice cream desserts was enjoying a meal at the bar. Nicole the owner was serving her mother and the rest of the guests as bartender and Jack-of -all-trades. Espresso martini Can hardly taste the alcohol. Not too sweet, nice coffee flavor but even if you don't like coffee -- especially if you don't like the bitterness of coffee -- you'll love this. Can't beat a good espresso martini $8 on Thursday 4- 10 pm Bread/ oil (free table app) So fresh, crispy on the outside, warm and soft on the inside. Well cooked. Not stodgy. Dish of paired oil was seasoned with crushed garlic and a light Italian blend -- could've had a little more seasoning (but good on the garlic - and I like a lot of garlic), but decent quality (I'm not an expert on olive oils). Walnut Salad These salads are often a little too sweet for me, but this one's just right. The walnuts are candied well, and toasted to perfection -- they're not sickly sweet. There are plenty of cranberries, and a decent amount of goat cheese which adds just enough bitterness. For my taste, I'd like less cranberries and more cheese. The greens are fresh and perky. The dressing looked thicker than I envisioned (I got it on the side so I could take part of the salad home), but it paired so well with the salad and was clearly fresh and homemade. Butternut squash ravioli Pumpkin seeds are perfectly toasted and seasoned. Eat the sage leaves that come with it -- they're amazing The filling is light, creamy, and gently seasoned. Even if you don't love butternut squash, you'll love this, but it's still clearly real butternut squash because you can see the threads of the squash (I know, I grow squash ). Good temperature coming out. The pasta itself is well-cooked. The butter sauce is delightful... I was seriously tempted to lick the plate in public. The whole dish is so well seasoned and fragrant. Pretty good new Italian restaurant in the area. Went in on a Saturday night, was packed. No reservations for groups less than 4. Atmosphere was rocking with live music. Service was great as the hostess was busing people around from the bar to open tables so me and my wife could sit. Bartenders were great, cocktail list looked very good. Not many craft beers on tap. I had the gnocchi, it was great. Quality dish with tasty sauce. Thought I would need a protein, but didn't end up needing it- dish was very filling. My wife got the chicken parm and it good as well. This is the new Italian restaurant in the area and it did not disappoint. We came in and was greeted by the hostess and sat down immediately. The waiter introduced himself (very nice guy) and took our order and was super attentive the entire experience. We ordered calamari which was seasoned perfectly as an appetizer and for drinks we had the Prosecco sipper, The Lopez and a white sangria. The bartenders did a great job with the drinks they were delicious. We ordered chicken parmigiana, lasagna, and the breaded pork chop. The marinara sauce they used was very unique as it had a slight sweetness to it which went well with the dishes. If you are ever in town and want some Italian food definitely stop by this place. My husband and I came here for dinner on a Friday night and as expected there was a wait to be seated, however the bar seats were up for grabs. I don't think they take reservations unless it's for a party of 6 or more so keep that in mind. Staff was very helpful and let us know when seats were opening up at the bar so we didn't wait very long at all. Bar staff was also very friendly and super attentive. We ordered the burrata and meatballs appetizer which was so yummy and delicious. We just wished it was served with some bread to soak up the sauce and burrata. My husband ordered the gnocchi with cream sauce and it was really yummy and I ordered the chicken parm. It was such a large portion and served with broccoli Rabe. It was so good! What a great spot for happy hour. It's right on Belair road and honestly people are missing out on this place buy going to more of the well know businesses for happy hour. They have great drink specials and the apps are good too. I came here two times in a week. The calamari I enjoyed, it was a really big portion. I got a side salad, the dressing was really good but there was definitely a lot more in it than needed to be. I also had the the bruschetta and basically devoured it in two minutes. The bartender was experimenting on new cocktails and I got to try them. Nice! Didn't have any entrees but I'd love to come back and try them next time I'm in town. Ask for Dennis to be your waiter, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. He managed a party of 32, single handly....literally he was in a cast on his wrist. Atmosphere, service, and food were all outstanding. We ordered chicken parm and shrimp penne alla vodka for dinner, and enjoyed calamari for first course, with a bottle of Chianti with dinner. We did sit at the bar, and our bartender, Trista, was very friendly and super attentive. However... the employee who was working in the kitchen, with the ravens apron, was extremely off putting and abrasive. The moment we sat down at the bar, he was over by the soda station complaining and speaking loudly about how a customers' request to "sample the soup" was outrageous, and he refused to "make samples of the Italian wedding soup." We didn't see much of him until we received our entrees, in which he came out from the kitchen, leaned over the bar and proceeded to yell at the employee at the host stand about ringing in half-and-half wings, and to "never ever do that shit again." I feel as if this was completely unnecessary and extremely rude.. one, to scream across the bar in front of guests', and two, to address an issue with a fellow employee in front of every single person in the restaurant, instead of in a private conversation. I am a fellow restaurant industry worker and for me, this was just very embarrassing to witness and I felt myself wanting to apologize to the girl who got yelled at, for having someone speak to her that way. My friends and I decided to have dinner at Massoni's on a Saturday night. I think we had gone around 8pm, as my friend was excited to try this new Italian restaurant. It was 6 of us, including one child. The ambience: The restaurant was lovely on the inside, albeit small. I had never been to the previous establishment. The live music was really good, though the volume was extremely loud. Hard to have conversations due to the noise. The food: We did have some issues with the food, whether it be items being over cooked or undercooked. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and we're surprise at the size of it. We would have appreciated if the waitress would have mentioned that the size would be too small for the amount of people and recommended getting two of those appetizers. I otherwise enjoyed it. Some of my friends preferred it to be less chewy, but I think they're just used to more breaded and crispy calamari. Otherwise, any issues we did have, we brought to the attention of the waitress, who then involved the manager, who brought it to the attention of the chef. Regardless of how the issues were received (the chef took it like a boss, as we tried to compliment all that we could while giving her constructive criticism), I appreciate how the issues were handled. Our waitress was nice and accommodated us getting the kiddo's food first, to quell a hungry child. We love an addition to the neighborhood of a restaurant like this and we hope to come again as they grow and improve as an establishment. read more

We had reservations and were seated promptly. Problem was that no one ever waited on us after that. After 20 minutes of no eye contact with any of the wait staff we decided to get up and leave. No one even picked up on the fact that we had not been tended to. Two idle employees looked up from their phones to wish us well on the way out and one said they hoped we had enjoyed our meal. We laughed all the way to the car and then went to our favorite Italian Bistro well known in the area and were treated like Royalty. Very disappointing ! The staff was very kind and all greeted my family as we ate there and were prompt with refilling sodas and bringing out our food.
