This agency is the "worst." We had an appointment originally back in December 28, 2022. Bethany,…read morethe coordinator said because of the Holiday's naturally a CNA wouldn't start until the first of the year. It is now January 13, 2023. I had to call them this week because I hadn't heard anything from Bethany. Guess what her excuse was? She had the wrong number! Did she try calling the alternate phone number? The only communication I received after our December 28 meeting with Bethany was a "text" on January 10 saying she hasn't called because she had the "wrong number" was too busy assisting other "seniors" and our CNA was "sick." That's it. I can clearly see why they have a "3 Star" average. Excuse, after excuse after excuse.

We have had home care aides through our nationally known long-term care insurance, for several…read moreyears. With our authorization, payments were made directly to the care agency, so we did not have to deal with anything except establishing our eligibility for services under the policy. We recently moved to Monterey and contacted Central Coast Senior Services. We were told that they did not deal with long term care insurance companies, even MetLife or CalPERS. We would have to pay them for services each month and then we were responsible for getting reimbursed by our long-term care insurance. This means we would have to send care notes, invoices and other documentation each month to the insurance company. Whatever the quality of service Central Coast provides, and it may well be good, but potential customers should be aware of this unusual part of their services and the additional work it entails.

They are flexible and communicative and in our experience have really demonstrated they care about you and your family. The two caregivers (working different shifts) they have assigned for our parents (93 and 94 yrs.) help manage their medications, remind them of and make sure they are ready for appointments and when we could not make it, they took them to their appointments. They help our mom remember her grooming activities, provide companionship and plan and prepare tasty meals that my parents enjoy. While we could have gone the route of hiring an independent caregiver, we realized we didn't want to take on the due diligence involved with finding and hiring someone - the background checks, insurance, reference checks and possibly having to deal with taxes. Additionally since we don't live locally, if the independent caregiver called in sick, we'd be challenged with finding a fill in. So for us using a service provider was the right choice. Caregiver to You has been wonderful in ensuring the shift is staffed in the event one of our caregivers can't be there (which in the five months we've been using them has not been very often). We looked at a few services before deciding on Caregiver to You, but we liked their commitment to families and to their staff (happy and fairly compensated staff was important to us). We've been using Caregiver to You for almost 5 months and we are glad we chose them. They feel like an extension of our family and we feel at ease knowing they are there to support us!

They helped with bathing, dressing, and general housework. They had flexible hours, affordable rates and have great communication. I liked that they provided peace of mind when I could not be there. In all honesty, I don't even know where to begin on how wonderful Senior Helpers have been the past…read moreyear with taking care of our grandma. Every caregiver who worked with our grandma treated her with so much love and genuine care. The house was always kept immaculate, the level of care our grandma needed when it came to feeding her, bathing her, taking her to the bathroom, just having conversations with her to keep her engaged was more than we ever expected. I personally met with each of the caregivers, and you could see right away that each of them was special. It takes a special person to be a caregiver. You have to genuinely love what you do, and you have to treat a total stranger as if they were your own family. And Senior Helpers did just that, and in the end, we still consider all of them family to us. You can't put a price on peace of mind, and that is why Senior Helpers is so loved by us because what they provided was the ability for our grandma to stay in her own home, sleep in her own bed, and live life knowing that she would be taken care of. That is peace of mind, and that is priceless. Although we had multiple caregivers taking care of our grandma, the one caregiver who was there the most for us was Alma. That woman is a true angel in how she cared for our grandma. Just an amazing, wonderful woman who we are forever grateful for. And I would be amiss if I did not include Connie. Just talking with her many times over the course of a year, you could tell that every one of her staff take after her and are a reflection of her leadership in putting together a team of amazing people who genuinely care. I would 1000% recommend Senior Helpers to anyone who is looking to have a loved one taken care of. From all of us to Senior Helpers, we send all of you much love and aloha!

Senior helpers have some very good caregivers, but the problem is with the office staff. There are…read moretwo in particular, one is a schedular and I believe the other is a supervisor of some sort. Both are very cold and really don't care about any issues you may have. They are quick to blame you as the problem and if you persist in the changes to the schedule or a particular caregiver, they are quick to threaten you with, you may be without service until we can find someone. Most of the time it feels like they do the exact opposite of what you are requesting and If by some very small chance they do comply with your request, you may not even know it until the caregiver shows up at your door, because the communication with their clients is very very poor. As I mentioned most caregivers are very good, but it's a shame that some of the office staff really doesn't seem to care about their client's needs!
