Scheduled an appointment for some fluids to be changed over a week ago. Vehicle sat at the shop for over a week past the appointment. Went there to pick up the vehicle which they hadn't started yet. Paid over $500 for this service and sat there for two hours waiting for it to be completed. I should have took the vehicle and left beforehand. Sorry, but I wish I could give zero stars. I brought my classic vehicle in before the big car show because it was having a problem stalling, I suspected a vapor lock. It took two weeks for me to get an appointment and they said yes they do work on vintage vehicles. I brought it down there and it went a whole week and I came by on my way to the airport and happened to see it sitting outside so I thought maybe it was finished. When I stopped in and spoke to the owner, he became very agitated like he was going to have a nervous breakdown and he said he wasn't going to work on it. I asked why didn't they tell me that a week ago when I dropped it off because I've could have taken it somewhere else and instead of letting it sit there for a week and nobody working on it. He seemed like he was having a nervous breakdown not sure exactly why. Took it across the street to Carson Automotive. They fixed it had it running by the next day. All it needed was a new alternator. I don't recommend Amigo Automotive to anyone. read more

Robert and his father (owners) have always been super helpful with any mechanical issue I have with my vehicles. They are willing to discuss the potential issues and solutions. If there is something that I don't want to wrench on and resolve I just take it to Amigo's Auto Repair. Reasonable pricing for the repair(s). If the repair requires one to leave thier vehicle they will even offer to provide a ride back home if the distance is reasonable. For me to trust my vehicles with an auto shop speaks volumes as I typically do all my own labor. read more

I live out of town, and I took my truck in for an oil leak repair while visiting my family. After my truck was there for a week sitting outside, they ( Jesus )told me they needed it for 2 more days. I picked it up and they said they fixed what was leaking. I paid approx. 1200.00 plus. I drove it home over 500 miles away only to have it leaking again. I contacted him and he told me to bring it back, so I did. The truck sat at his shop for another week, and nothing was done. He again told me 2 days and he would pay for my stay. I stayed and he didn't offer to pay. well, I drove the truck back home and it was leaking again, and they lost a cover. I took it to a local guy, and they ended up fixing the issue. They stated that Amigos shop just didn't go deep enough to repair. So, I paid again. I contact amigo requesting a credit for what he had done, and he stated to send him the invoice. He did nothing to rectify the issue. To this day I haven't heard back. I've texted him several times. If you live out of town and you expect the job to be done right the first time don't take it to this shop. I have texts to back all my statements. Next, I guess its small claims. It's terrible when people don't back their work and waste your time. read more

My A/C was having intermittent problems (blowing warm air when idling) so I took it to a local garage. They checked it and told me it was dead and needed to be replaced for $1,100. BTW - my A/C didn't work at all after the diagnosis. A friend recommended I take it to Amigos Auto. They diagnosed it as a small part that was leaking and also that the fluid was empty (most likely by the previous garage). They fixed & recharged it for $140 & the AC works great now. I had taken my car in with a dragging starter, they had no idea what was going on with my car. They cut out the fuse box and I got it back. The new fuse box did not fix the problem. I spent a total of 600 dollars on unnecessary repair. They didn't want to fix my car so I had to take it to Nissan and they changed the starter, problem fixed. Because Amigos charged me for an unnecessary repair so a 717 dollar repair cost me 1317 dollars. I called Jesus and told him and he offered no refund or even an apology. I really liked their shop before this. Such an unfortunate end to any business I myself will give them and any business I would have sent their way. They don't know what they are doing and should not work on newer year cars. I got screwed out of 600 dollars and I'm not happy. read more

Jesus and his mechanics provide excellent service at a very reasonable price. The rear main seal on my 2011 Jeep JK was leaking. Lots of labor involved because the transmission needs to be separated from the engine. I got five quotes from other shops, Jesus was the lowest and comes highly recommended from good friend of mine. While they were making the repair, they noticed the oil pan was leaking (now I know where the rock hit whileI was wheeling). They replaced the oil pan gasket material quickly and at very reasonable price. Jesus is a man of integrity. My brake was squealing so ask him to check it out. The brake pads had some dirt on them but still had plenty of wear to go. I have had other shops replace good pads and tell you they were worn beyond limits. Not Jesus, he told me I had plenty of miles left. Excellent work, done on time, very reasonably priced and trustworthy. Check them out! read more

I've been taking my trailblazer to Jesus for a year now, I live in Southern California ,but every time I visit my sister In Carson I drop my vehicle off to he repaired or service. My sister has been a very happy customer for many years ,so I trusted her recommendation. We don't have any complaints. As you know It's hard to find an honest mechanic that genuinely wants you to be safe or feel safe on the road without over charging. The mechanics at amigos are honest people and their prices are reasonably great. I dropped my vehicle off Friday morning I needed work done and it was done over the 3 day weekend. I went to Amigo on a referral from a friend for a replacement transmission in my 2004 Volvo. For the right price I would drive the car another year+. Amigo gave me a good price on a used transmission so I had them do the work. My Volvo drives better than it has for about two years! They accidentally severed the relay wire to my airbag and they replaced that switch ($290 part) at no cost to me. I waited for them to do that minor repair which took about a half hour. They are a bit out of the way, but Je'sus and his son Robert are nice guys to work with and did a great job on my vehicle. There is a slight squeak on the steering column, but I will drive it for a couple weeks to see if it goes away on its own. If not, they said they would take care of it. read more

I (and some of my family members) have been going to Amigos for most of our repairs for the last 10 years (off and on). The first few years were amazing, Jesus was reasonable, the work was done right the first time when others could not do it. Jesus seems pretty honest and did not seem to offer repairs that were not needed. The last year or two their service has dropped. My family has stopped using them. Over the last year, with two of my vehicles, every time I have dropped one off, I don't spend more than a week without something else happening to my cars. Today I had enough after just spending $200 last 9 days ago. Now they want $100 to fix something else. I don't trust them anymore. From wha tI hear, Jesus is not doing most of the repairs but has his sons learning on our dime. I wouldn't mind if they fixed what they broke--which he used to do.
