Nasty, stay away from this rip off outlet. Menu is confusing. When I asked for clarification on what is included when you order a burrito. I couldn't get a clear explanation and when I mentioned that the menu is confusing, the server agreed. They seemed annoyed that I had questions. I wanted a chili verde burrito with rice, cheese and beans and found out that that is a 4 item burrito. $17.50. Don't be honey potted by the low online prices. I decided to get a Richard burrito $16.50. Canned runny refried beans, small amount of chili verde inside, chili verde on top and cheese. Melted and heated up in a microwave. Since my daughter wanted rice, I asked if she could add some. When I checked out it came to $40 for 2 burritos. They charged me $4.00 for the rice. When I brought up the high price, the 2 hostesses acted smug and rude. When I got home and opened the box, it looked gnarly. The chili verde meat was tough and barely chewable. The tortilla was total mush. I couldn't finish it and felt sick afterwards. Poor quality, bad service, overpriced dog food. read more

What can I say, I like it here. It's not a traditional restaurant with a server but a cafeteria style place where you order, pay, sit down. I've been coming here since they opened and have been in the bar, regular sit down area, and the banquet room. The food I would describe more as Tex-Mex style and not traditional Mexican food. I do think the food is tasty and priced fairly. Some menu items are bigger than what I would expect and some seem smaller, based off pricing. I do think the rice and beans are consistently good and the meat choices are hit or miss for some reason. Sometimes the shredded beef and chicken is bland and other times it is seasoned well. My dad thinks the chile verde is amazing, I think it's good. I do like their "mole" sauce and usually end up getting an enchilada just so I can get the sauce on something, but it's more of a mild sweet/spiced red enchilada sauce and not "mole" in the traditional sense. The bar is usually full and loud. If your expectations aren't extreme and you're not expecting traditional or authentic Mexican food, but just looking for tasty Tex-Mex style food then I think this place will check off a lot of boxes for you. read more

We had catered items that were delicious, the small appetizer platter that had , taquitos, bean burritos and quesadillas. It came with guacamole, delicious. We also had the delicious "Richard's Burrito" casserole, it was yummy! We ordered the small platter with chile verde as the filling. It was the perfect size . I don't know what happened with this place, it's really gone down hill. The food is sub-par, the customer service is awful. Called to try to make an order and ended up waiting on hold for 20 minutes just to be hung up on. This isn't the first time this has happened. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but we won't be going here anymore. The prices are astronomical and the food isn't even authentic anymore. Super bland and blegh. This place was better when it was owned and operated by the Fitzgerald's back in the early 2000's. read more

This establishment is part bar / part restaurant. It's not a bad joint. It's ok for some Mexican fast food. I got the grande burrito where you can create your own burrito, which isn't a bad idea for creativity. It gives you the flexibility to get what you want. The service wasn't too bad. Granted, it was near closing time so it wasn't too busy, so it was easy to get served. Tasty food. Overall a positive experience. read more

Oh geez, I really wanted to like this little place while visiting the city. I struggled with the seasoning and flavor of the food. Or lack there of. Sports bar at least had games on and plenty of happy patrons that love this spot. My preference is more authentic Mexican food, I believe they are geared more toward their clients in this area. What a pleasant surprise!! First time dining here for lunch and my only regret is not takings pics. They are set up somewhat self serve with a Steam Table but certain dishes are cooked in the kitchen. The Steak Fajitas came out sizzling, large portion and seasoned well. My Chile Verde Combo was very flavorful and not overly spicy which is appreciated. I have notice that some Mexican Restaurants are scaling back on salt which makes for bland offerings, but not Amigos, even their beans and rice were tasty. This has been a spot so dear to me lol. They have always treated me good. I've had many drunk nights here. Many good dates, dinners, you name it. I'm on a strict beans, chicken, and rice diet and of course, amigos was the choice tonight. After a nice workout at the gym, I went straight there, and it was something as simple as the detail on each of the sides that made my night. The side of chicken alone would of been satisfying enough to be a meal. Talk about flavor. Beans were, I mean cmon they're retried beans lol. The rice! Not bad at all. Slightly dry, but very delicious. Overall, I will come back sooooooo many more times. For so many different plates, and so many new good times. Give amigos a try guys. It's always a good time at Amigos. Great service with friendly employees. Complementary chips and salsa when you are sitting in the bar, you just have to ask for them. Chile Relleno with mole sauce- the chile, which I believe was an Anaheim was very small compared to the amount of batter used. The mole isn't quite a traditional mole, but it was still good. Overall it was ok. Camarones a la diabla - was good, lots of shrimp, tails were off which made it easy to eat (not messy). Mexican bean plate - chile colorado had great flavor, the meat was slightly tough but I'd most definitely order it again. The chile verde was good however I like mine to be a bit more spicy. read more

They must use a pound of salt on each batch of foods on their menu. There foods are ultra salty. They also get really antsy about it if you confront them and ask for a redo on the order. Two instances they would not refund for the food missing on my phone/takeout order. REALLY SALTY FOODS. Oh and the tamales are dried "masa" and finally somewhere in there one finally finds one bite of shredded pork. A disappointment! read more

COVID-19 phase: My mother called in the order. She was put on hold when she picked up. They had good music playing while on hold. =) She was on hold for a very short time. She ordered 1 Mexican Bowl with chicken and grilled veggies and jalapeños. She also ordered another Mexican bowl with grilled veggies and jalapeños. Randy took the order and was nice. They charge $4.50 extra to add veggies and $1 extra for jalapeños. I thought about having her add shrimp to my bowl until the worker said that it would cost another $5 extra. Crazy! Just chicken is enough! Talk about taking advantage. Randy said it would be 10 minutes after they opened at 11am. We went to go get it. They have outside seating in these times. When we got there the order was ready and my mother asked for chips and salsa and that was given for free. The worker was nice and masked. The inside was very clean. My grilled chicken Mexican bowl was really delicious! The veggies were really good! Loved the mushroom and broccoli! The grilled chicken was shredded and oh so delicious! They gave the best hot sauce with it too! The jalapeños made it even better! My mother thought her bowl was very good too and she was happy she got exactly what she ordered and liked it! Recently tried their enchilada combo (you can order a single, double or triple enchiladas) per combo box order! You can have RED or GREEN enchiladas - the green was tasty & I would order it again. Also- The double enchilada meal was enough for two meals. The rice was fluffy and the beans were topped with melty white cheese! I loved the fresh chips on the side! However, the salsa bar appears to not be in use so you'll have to ask for any salsa or pico de gallo on the side if you're interested in having another type of sauce. read more

Great food a lot to choose from and it's always packed. One side is the restaurant that other side is a bar sports bar as a matter fact. Serves Pepsi products and Mexican food better than this fake drive through. The only thing that's different about this place is the side where do you receive the food reminds me of a school cafeteria tables here in there and they need to update their ambience of this place. The bar side has flatscreen tv's blasting every sport you could think of or game. The service is awesome. The ladies that serve actually Are very kind and attentive to your order. The youngsters they have they're not too aware of service for the clients. The majority of the food is low-key spicy. You literally have to request a hot salsa. If I could give 0 stars I would. Walked in before 8pm on a Wednesday and was turned away because they were "closed". Not the first time this has happened to me here. I came across this Poke place, but when I pulled up it was empty... not wanting to test the freshness of raw fish in Tulare on a Wednesday in an empty restaurant, I looked next door... this place, Amigos, was packed!! I got in the very long line and saw it was a subway style Mexican restaurant. Ok. Maybe I found a local gem?? Yay! No. Just... no. I got a taco salad... seriously the most sad, un-Mexican taco salad I've ever seen. Shredded lettuce topped with dried out carnitas, sour cream and what they call guacamole. No salsa. No Pico. No flavor. Oh and the "2 free salsas per person"... thimble sized. Not near enough to try to salvage this mess. Guess I'll keep looking! read more

Sooo, a few months ago I decided to give this place another chance since I had such a long history there. It also helped that I didn't see that semi-regular jackass a single time that had came at me sideways before. Everything seemed ok, and water under the bridge...but tonight I decided to stop in, and the bartender kept saying something from a far. I asked what it was and she said "Slumming it," and I was like, wtf? It pressed on, and was told because of my previous yelp review. I was told it was a "joke" but the simple fact is most "jokes" are simply a disguised thought/emotion...so after hearing it for the 3rd time I decided to call it out. Upon doing so, the bartender got super defensive/offensive giving me shit because of the previous review. I got an earful about they don't know the person, this, that, everything under the sun with their life....essentially everything to distract from them initiating this. I was even told they don't know the names of over half the people that go there regularly. Sounds like an omission of being horrible at their job to me...Isn't the hospitiality field usually comprised of people saying people's name to make them welcome??? This bartender will prob try to deflect from the facts of what happened and bring up their "bestie". If anyone wants to know the facts of what happened in that situation, I got A LOT to say about that...but won't get into that on here. What I will say, is on countless times this bartender has nudged/pushed me toward that person with words calling that person my wifey, bae, etc. There is SOOO much that would be omitted from the facts of their story. In short, is Amigos even a slightly professional establishment? Not, at all. I could say soooooo much about the rude/inappropriate remarks from the staff member that took place over years. read more

Second time was not a charm. We tried to love this place because it's so close to home. We went about a month ago had 2 red beers each some tacos and horrible Asada nachos.
