I'll still swing in to grab a drink while I wait for a table at the sushi place next door, but the food really has declined over the years and the décor is just out dated and very 90's Mexican restaurant feel to it. read more

The chips were good but the salsa didn't taste all too fresh. The restaurant is so cute inside. I have been to other locations of El Rosal and LOVE them so I was saddened that it wasn't as good as the other places. I would try it again to give them another chance but I think all in all just wanted more flavor and freshness. read more

We frequent this place often. We've tried a few different items. My favorite are the enchiladas poblanas. So good! The chips and salsa are so good too. Service is usually amazing. Love the vibe inside. A little hidden gem I'm so glad we came across and it's definitely one of our favorite spots to eat in Visalia. read more

This review comes from my recent experiences lately. As I'm a regular customer who dines about every two weeks here. I have to say the food is good, however the portions have not been generous enough. I usually have a pozole soup on weekends. One item combo during week. For the price of the large pozole and for two pieces of meat was disappointing. The quality of one item combination comes down when plate is overly microwaved and rice becomes hard and beans over heated, hence the hot plate when it arrives to your table. Service has fell off big time with faces of waitresses all the time. It takes long to get drink order ready, by that time I'm ready to place my food order and don't need to wait for a menu. It's really a hit or miss who you get as a waitress as some are more decent than others. I've been going to the Noble location for years now and nothing has been remodeled and is outdated. However they did get new flooring during covid. With the Mooney location closing it would be nice to have a fresh update on booths/tables. read more

When I have gone here, I've always enjoyed all aspects of the food and service. There are some tables you want to avoid if you're looking for privacy. But like most Mexican food restaurants, I assume you don't go for the privacy. Their red sauce is unique and has a wonderful tan in flavor. The same goes for your enchiladas. Uniqueness within a Mexican food restaurant is rare, but they do well here. read more

There used to be 2 locations: one on Noble and the other on Mooney. I swore I'd never go back to the Noble location after spending 20 minutes trying to get a table. I felt I was being ignored and the only reason I could come up with is my race. I have no tolerance for racism. It took me a few years to return, as well as the fact their Mooney location closed. So, what do I think? The service has improved considerably. I was promptly seated and staff made sure my order was okay and my drink was refilled. And this is one of the few restaurants that serves birria tacos. And they were terrific. They were filled with carne asada and some type of white cheese. But there's something missing. My new favorite place for wet burritos! And yesss their to-go orders come with chips and salsa (make sure you ask for that when you do order - just to be safe). I LOVE how you are able to order a red or a green burrito! The wet chicken burrito & wet asada burritos were well packed with rice and beans and the meat portion was NOT skimpy! I had a friend recommend this place and I'm so happy she did because it's likely my go-to now. What I love about the rice is that it's so fluffy I even got some peas in the rice but it tasted so delicious with chicken you could barely notice it & it made the burrito so much better. Someone mentioned the chicken as dry and I think most chicken breast is slightly less juicy but the wet sauce the burrito had and the cheese really made it feel like it was pretty decent texture wise! Also such a big plus that they give u a container of sour cream for your burrito on the side. The salsa for the chips is mild - and I prefer that! The tacos were pretty good you can get cotija Mexican cheese or Monterrey jack cheese as a topper & the tortilla feels fried! They were well worth the price and welp stuffed too. Came back to see if anything has changed, and yes it did. The menudo which it was good before, and now it's just bad. No flavor what so ever. And they are still charging you if you use your CC, well I won't tip if I'm getting charge to pay. So I think I giving them 3 too many chances to change. I won't miss anything about his place. How can you improve!! First of all don't charge your customers that use a CC to pay their bill, second please make some food with flavor, 3 fresh made tortillas need to feel like they are fresh not microwaved. read more

The best Mexican restaurant in Visalia and their 7 seat full bar is great to get a perfect drink and talk to friends and strangers. The Red and Green Sauce that Pablo makes is the best. The staff are very service conscious with a smile and the food is served fast. The drinks are made with the correct amount of alcohol unlike T. Joe's or T. Garden. Went here for lunch after spending the morning at the cemetery for Dia de Los Muertos. I had the 2-item lunch combo w/ a carne asada sope and chicken enchilada. The sope was a good size, so I only tasted my enchilada and brought it home with me. Hubby ordered the chicken mole. The mole was a bit sweet for our liking. The piece of chicken breast that came with the mole tasted like it had been fried on the flattop w/manteca, adding an odd pork-like flavor. Service was very good, the food pretty ordinary. read more

I've been coming to El Rosal since I was a child and it has changed for the worst! Food quality has gone bad with high prices since around 2018-2020. Service has gone down hill since then too! They use to have such amazing servers and good time management with just amazing customer service attitude. Now the servers barely do anything and when they do it's not even bare minimum that a customer deserves. Very disappointed and just sad how things are at El rosal. In 2024 it's hard to say but I will not be coming here anymore after 22 years of being their customer. read more

My family and tried to help local restaurants and we loved El Rosal since 2010. 6 years ago food become taste less and we continued to come to support But today is the last straw. Normally love el rosal. Tonight, not so much. Waitress acted like she didn't have time to take my order but when she brought it that was the last time I saw her. I needed more water and would have loved to have another margarita but after waiting over 20 min I finally got a to go box off their shelf and was able to flag down another waiter to get my bill. Honestly another 5 minutes and I would have just walked out without paying since they obviously had no idea I was there. I ask the other waiter where my waitress went and he said home. El Rosal is turning into a frequent location for a solid, predictable dinner. It's the first place I found that was good enough that the wife would share food!! The carnitas are amazing in any shape or form, but their burritos are superb. The beer menu is a bit lacking, but they have some craft cocktails that are pretty decent. While it's not show-stopping phenomenal, El Rosal is definitely worth it. Will probably remain a go-to destination for the family. read more

I went here for the first time yesterday and the food had no flavor and the strawberry lemonade drink was so sweet. My best friend said the burger tasted like the patty was from a frozen bag. If they're gonna charge $13 for a cheeseburger, the cook should've made it fresh. I also saw customers coming in and waiting awhile to be seated but all the co workers were in the kitchen area, in the back. Never again I will not be going back to this place. read more

The food is okay. The beans and rice could be better (sad knowing it's a Mexican restaurant). They are a little on the dry side (taste and look old). The place is welcoming and it has a nice atmosphere, however, there is always one or two waiters/waitresses. Sunday mornings are ALWAYS going to be busy! You can get a few more people to help. I appreciated that our waiter was helpful, but he was also having to cover other tables which made it hard for him to keep up with requests. I can't blame him.
