The Main Event: French Dip * The Bread: This was the biggest disappointment. It wasn't toasted, grilled, or even brushed with a little butter. It felt like an afterthought, leaving the texture of the sandwich completely uninspired. * The Meat: The tri-tip was sliced thin and seemed okay, though it had that "pre-cooked this morning" vibe rather than being fresh off the block. * The Au Jus: A French Dip lives and dies by the dip. Unfortunately, this was essentially bland beef broth--watery and lacking any deep, salty, or beefy complexity. The Silver Lining The meal wasn't a total wash, thanks to the sides. We had lunch here a few weeks ago as a party of four on the day of a car show. We were seated quickly and our service was prompt. To eat I had the Brewbaker's Cobb with crispy chicken instead of grilled chicken. The serving of chicken on the salad was very generous. My husband had the BBQ Ranch burger which he enjoyed. My parents shared a pizza and side salad, but the portions for each of these items were very small. Generally personal pizzas are 10 inches, so this pizza at 7 inches seemed tiny. read more

Came here for a quick bite and a beer since I was in town. Nice old school brewery feel with friendly service. Tried their Slow Burn (a jalapeño lager, 5/5). One of the best beers that I have had in a while. I also got a basket of their sweet potato fries (10/5). Best sweet potato fries I may have ever had (huge, crisp on the outside and came with some chipotle mayo and ranch to dip). Great snack. Would not hesitate coming back here. read more

The hamburgers were excellent!!! Two of us ordered fish and chips, one order was perfect, the other order was overcooked, dry, and very disappointing. That second order was ordered for our guest. I enjoyed the Friday Cajun salmon chowder, a thick and rich blend that offered a twist on the usual clams (which my seafood-allergic husband would appreciate) with that Cajun kick. My friend had tacos that came with a side salad, a nice and unusual touch. The only downside IMO is that the restaurant does feel somewhat dated, on the verge of a little shabby. I really wanted to like Brewbakers since I've heard so many good things, but every time I go it just seems to fall short. On my last visit, I ordered the salmon and it was terribly overcooked. I sent it back and tried something else, but that wasn't very good either. In the past I've had the fish and chips, which were solid, but nothing I've tried here has really blown me away. The ambiance feels dated, almost like an old, crusty restaurant that could use some refreshing. Honestly, the whole lunch was a let down. We came in at 2:10. It's 3:40 and we are STILL waiting on the bill. We had 3 sandwiches & 3 root beers. Nothing was too complicated, three other tables who were seated after us received their food first. I asked the waitress if she could check on our food very kindly, and she said that two things were ready but they were waiting on one more. She asked if we wanted the food to come out with the other stuff and I said that they could just bring whatever is ready. One of the other tables looked over at us & the guy asked if we really hadn't gotten our food yet since we were there before them. You know it's bad when another table notices. Brewbakers always appears bustling at night, probably due to the warm vibes and decent food. We placed our party on the waitlist and were given an estimate of an hour during dinner time. We were able to hang out by the bar in the meantime and the bartenders were friendly. During my visit, there were 7 beers on tap and menus were available upon request. Beers were the fastest to serve while the food took some time. However, our servers were all great and we were consistently checked on. *Honey Wheat: light, smooth, and a tad sweet. *Honey Bear: similar to the honey wheat but with more sweetness and tartness. *Caesar Salad: large and very shareable but not tasty. The lettuce was warm and wilted. There was a lot of Parmesan but not any other toppings nor flavors. The garlic croutons were few in number, soft and bland. This tasted similar to the premade and packaged salads at the grocery store. *Beer Battered Chicken Strips: thick chicken strips in a light batter. The batter carried mild sweetness and slight crispiness. The chicken was tender and seasoned well. I chose fries to be my side and they were average. The fries were on the soggier and saltier side. However, the portion was large for the price. *Beer Wings: I chose honey Sriracha as the sauce and these were saucy. The wings weren't the largest but they were tender and juicy. The honey Sriracha leaned on the sweeter side so this resembled a honey BBQ. While the sauce was good, I would do a heavier application of Sriracha for the spices to actually hit. This was the favorite dish of the night. The food wasn't exceptional but Brewbakers offers decent food options for a reasonable price and portion. Most breweries downtown do a poor job with food yet Brewbakers suffices. Come for the good beer and service. read more

Since salt was already on the table, problem solved. While waiting for dinner, it's fun to look at all the brewing barrels. There is background music playing, but we could still have a conversation. Food came out in a reasonable time. Our table of four had two Rubens, one Tuscan chicken pasta, and a personal pizza. As far as decor, there are Tiffany style hanging lights, some booths and some tables, paintings and posters. I wouldn't change it. This place has character that a remodel would ruin. Really liked the interior of the pub with Tiffany lights and old styled bar area. Ordered the Diablo pizza. It's not for the weak. It's spicy but my husband loved it. Side note, if you order the pizza it will take a little longer. I had the special, a tri tip sandwich, it was more of a patty melt style than Bbq, it was delicious. Seriously!? The food was good which is the only reason they have any stars. The service!? We sat down and instantly one of the servers spilled water all over my daughter. Then the waitress thought is was okay to say he has something on his shirt and then bop him in the nose. Then we finally got our bill and not only did they not remove anything as an apology after my daughter had water spilled all over her. Apparently at some time prices completely increased in all our beverages were way more expensive.... Everywhere I've ever been. Everyone was happy with their meals - my wife had salmon, asparagus and a baked potato, I had steak, asparagus and a salad, my son had a kid's cheeseburger with fries and my daughter had the tri-tip chili nachos. My effort to eat at every restaurant on Maim Street continues. I saw a big neon sign pointing with restaurant on it. I took it as a sign and walked in. What a cool place. Stained glass lights? Check. Huge beer tanks? Check. Beautiful copper bar top? Check. Friendly bar tender with big bushy beer? Check. Too bad it's lunch time, I would love to taste their beer. Came here after a long trip in the sequoia mountains with some friends and it was pretty good. Ordered my steak raw and it came out perfect & the lemon chicken is to die for as well. The staff are nice and there's both upstairs, downstairs, & outside seating! Place seemed to be pretty poppin on a Sunday in the little downtown area! My review has nothing to say or complain about regarding their brewed products, since we did not partake. Just the overall experience was not what we had remembered.
