Came here for a quick bite and a beer since I was in town. Nice old school brewery feel with friendly service. Tried their Slow Burn (a jalapeño lager, 5/5). One of the best beers that I have had in a while. I also got a basket of their sweet potato fries (10/5). Best sweet potato fries I may have ever had (huge, crisp on the outside and came with some chipotle mayo and ranch to dip). Great snack. Would not hesitate coming back here.

This is so delicious! I've never had a sandwich like this since I came back. It's amazing!

Brewbakers is a reliable choice in downtown Visalia. Cozy, moody brew house style with a typical menu that often also offers some variety. Prices are reasonable. I enjoyed the Friday Cajun salmon chowder, a thick and rich blend that offered a twist on the usual clams (which my seafood-allergic husband would appreciate) with that Cajun kick. My friend had tacos that came with a side salad, a nice and unusual touch. The only downside IMO is that the restaurant does feel somewhat dated, on the verge of a little shabby. It could use some modernization of decor. But it's a solid option.

Tiny brewery in Visalia, that offers delicious burgers and handcrafted sodas. Service was really great and personable, particularly the front door guy. This is a great place to hang out before heading over to Sequoia. It's also about a block and a half from the Visalia Marriott - very walkable!

Brewbakers always appears bustling at night, probably due to the warm vibes and decent food. We placed our party on the waitlist and were given an estimate of an hour during dinner time. We were able to hang out by the bar in the meantime and the bartenders were friendly. During my visit, there were 7 beers on tap and menus were available upon request. Beers were the fastest to serve while the food took some time. However, our servers were all great and we were consistently checked on. *Honey Wheat: light, smooth, and a tad sweet. *Honey Bear: similar to the honey wheat but with more sweetness and tartness. *Caesar Salad: large and very shareable but not tasty. The lettuce was warm and wilted. There was a lot of Parmesan but not any other toppings nor flavors. The garlic croutons were few in number, soft and bland. This tasted similar to the premade and packaged salads at the grocery store. *Beer Battered Chicken Strips: thick chicken strips in a light batter. The batter carried mild sweetness and slight crispiness. The chicken was tender and seasoned well. I chose fries to be my side and they were average. The fries were on the soggier and saltier side. However, the portion was large for the price. *Beer Wings: I chose honey Sriracha as the sauce and these were saucy. The wings weren't the largest but they were tender and juicy. The honey Sriracha leaned on the sweeter side so this resembled a honey BBQ. While the sauce was good, I would do a heavier application of Sriracha for the spices to actually hit. This was the favorite dish of the night. The food wasn't exceptional but Brewbakers offers decent food options for a reasonable price and portion. Most breweries downtown do a poor job with food yet Brewbakers suffices. Come for the good beer and service.

When we can't decide where to eat, this is our default! Awesome ambiance, typically great service and awesome food for the pricing. All the beers have been tasty and the Slow Burn is our favorite if you like a little spice. My wife said it's amazing in a Michelada. Stop in on Friday/Saturday for the best chowder in a bread bowl you've had in the Central Valley. Definitely worth a stop.

Wife and I went to lunch here with friends and it was a great time in a chill brewery atmosphere. I had the ultimate burger and it was cooked perfectly medium, was juicy and flavorful. We shared a pitcher of their IPA and it was good. Staff was super friendly and attentive.

The interior has a great vibe. There's something for every appetite on the menu and it's all reasonably priced. My husband and I split a delicious club sandwich and fries - which was plenty for two. Three layers of turkey, bacon, and tri tip. Very well portioned and flavorful. Add to that a tasty stout and the best root beer float we've ever had. Service was excellent too!

We got a table immediately on walking in on a Saturday night after a long, hot day of hiking. A VERY short time later, the waitress arrived to take our drink order. Those came soon after our order. We asked a few questions about the menu and specials and put our order in. The blackened salmon chowder came out in a coffee mug. It was quite good, though I felt it could use a bit more salt. Since salt was already on the table, problem solved. While waiting for dinner, it's fun to look at all the brewing barrels. There is background music playing, but we could still have a conversation. Food came out in a reasonable time. Our table of four had two Rubens, one Tuscan chicken pasta, and a personal pizza. As far as decor, there are Tiffany style hanging lights, some booths and some tables, paintings and posters. I wouldn't change it. This place has character that a remodel would ruin. We all had some leftovers. If in the area, we would all come here again.

Ask the Community - Brewbakers Brewing Company

Do they have a full bar or just a beer bar?

It's a beer and wine beer. They make all of the beer they sell. The beer is brewed in the restaurant/brewery.

    Are dogs allowed?

    Yes, dogs are allowed.

    Is this place Dog friendly?

They do not welcome people with a dog and have a very arrogant way to let us know they don't allow dogs.

It's a small brown building with a small parking lot next to it. It's nice though that its open at 0630 so that the nightshift hospital staff can come here and decompress or send me off on my last day. First thing you notice about this place is the smell of urine from the bathrooms. You get use to it after a bit. As well as the "regulars" hanging out at the bar area. It's extremely small. Area for a pool table, some tables at the far end by the bathrooms, and a long bar counter. At least the tvs are nice and clear and big to watch games or sports as need be. There was a good 18 of us here. Prices are rediculously cheap. I'm glad they understand it's a dive bar and should thus be dive bar prices. A michelada was $4. A mimosa was $5. Bag of chips was $1. They have these sour candy shots for $4. The sour candy shots were really good. Michelada was simple. Bloody Mary mix with beer. But they were well made. I also had a crown royal apple with redbull that was really good. I don't remember how many drinks we went thru but it did the job and we were all feeling good. Customer service is good. Dude working behind the bar worked fast. I hear this place is pretty good when the sun is up, but has a pretty rough reputation at night with lots of shady people coming in at night. I definitely wouldn't come in here by my self even in the day time. But with a large group it's pretty cool. Nice and cheap. If you don't mind the urine smell and dilapidated look.

If you can't pick just one, a flight is the way to go. We tried several of their newer brews during our visit. The Citrus Trails Blood Orange Ale was refreshing and perfect for a warm day. It wasn't overly bitter, and I think an orange slice would make it even better. The Stay Golden was another new release that my husband really enjoyed, describing it as smooth, crisp, and refreshing. I also tried I've Seen Better Haze, which was flavorful without the overpowering bitterness that some IPAs have. The Salty Sessions was surprisingly light for an IPA and almost drank like a blonde ale, making it a great option if you're easing into hoppier beers. One thing I really like about Salty Walrus is that they offer more than just great beer. They host a run club, feature a different food truck most days, and even have an annual membership for frequent visitors. The membership includes one free pour every day along with discounts on additional pours and merchandise, making it a great value for regulars.
