After I gave my deposit it took nearly 2 months before the job was done. I tried on multiple occasions to contact them with no response. When they finally came to do the job, they sent people who I could not communicate with and didn't know the specifics of the work I needed. They ended up doing the fence wrong and charged me an extra $1000 without discussing it with me. They also charged my card a second time without my consent. Sorry, I cannot recommend them. read more

I only gave one star because there wasn't an option for zero stars! Had a fence installed back in April of 2019. The fence is way too heavy for the motors they placed on it. So I've had several incidents with repairs as well as with each service call I waited long times for them to come out. Patrick initially seemed to be concerned but once I asked to speak to the owner things became far worse! Spoke to Jonathan the owner who sent someone out right away and I was so grateful for him speedy response and level of professionalism! That didn't last long because sometime later I had the same issue with the fence not staying close and the double opening not aligning up once it did close. Which in return allows my 160 lb Great Dane to stick his head out of the opening. I have a few others come out to fix the fence & I've been told more than once that the fence is too heavy for the small motors that were installed & that the cords hanging is what has been causing the fence to constantly open. The laser red eye thinks something is stuck in the fence. So I've paid for that problem but the fence still doesn't align properly & one side completely hangs. I paid a total of $3500 to have this fence installed as well as another $400 for a Service visit and here it is less than 2 years later & the fence still isn't working properly! The initial install drug on and the guys couldn't communicate with me as they didn't speak any English. I should've known then. I'm highly disappointed! I chose them because an old friend Mr. Graffeo highly recommended them and I also knew of another relative of the Brisbi's. It's not the level of customer service I expected. I've reached out to Jonathan quite only for him to tell me that he was passing the information along to Patrick who is the Manager. I didn't hear back from either one of them and I wasn't surprised! So now I've had to make the decision as to whether I want to pay $150 to sue. Which is what another fence company recommended. As I'm told they have had to go behind this same company to repair fences. Or if I want to just invest that money into a fence that actually works. Either way I shouldn't have to go through this. read more

Quick to accept a deposit but had to keep calling to get fence repaired...no specific date, after repeated calls, guys who spoke no English just show up with paper work they can't even explain for repair. They do the work uncompleted. Bank drafted for finished work without my knowledge on a Friday. Monday morning I will notify bank. These people never answer their calls. Don't do business with them if at all possible. read more

We hired Amko just after hurricane Ida, as a matter of fact, four of us in the neighborhood hired them and they were quick to set us up and take the deposits. Thankful for that. They came out and did some of the fence but did not complete it. It has been three weeks and they have been in the neighborhood re-doing some of our neighbors fences that were not done correctly so how hard would it be to place our posts and finish it up. I got a bill this week for payment in full and I will not pay it until the work is complete. I just wish someone would respond to texts, calls and emails? Communication is key! read more

3 minutes ago-Edit I wish I could give zero stars! Worst place of business Ever!!!! I called this company to fix a gate that was broken at my place of business. I called at about 3:30 on Thursday and spoke to Patrick. Patrick assured me that he was sending a tech out to fix the gate. Patrick continued to tell me he was going to find someone to come out and would give me a call back. Well before the end of business (5pm) he's still never contacted me back. So I called the office about 5 minutes before they closed and no one answered. Patrick had given me his number to text him a picture of the gate, so I called his cell to see when someone was coming out. He told me that someone would be here shortly. I waited 30 minutes after the time I would be leaving work to wait for the guy to show up. Shocker, he never showed. I left thinking maybe he would come in an hour. An hour later, I called my company to see if anyone showed up and NO ONE DID! I call Patrick AGAIN and he texted me that he was out with kids so he couldnt talk but he could text. I texted him that noone ever showed up and would someone be coming. HE NEVER TEXTED ME BACK!!! SO this morning, I called the company, they continued to give me the run around. I called again asking to speak to a manager so I got the office manager, who's name I didnt get. This guy was THE RUDEST person EVER!!! He basically told me that I'd called close to the end of the business day (making an excuse for Patrick's lack of communication and customer service skills) and he hung up on me while I was trying to explain what happened. I called back to ask why would he hang up on me and he told me to stop calling there and to find another company. All of that rudest simply because I was told ONE thing by an employee that NEVER happened!!! So I listened to his advice and found another company. A company that knows how to treat customer and what it means to work in customer service!!!! Hopefully I can speak to someone higher than the "office manager" because he shouldnt be managing anything!!!! read more

Previous owners replaced fence. When I moved in (November), I notices split boards, popped nails, etc. all along the fence. Contacted Amko. Rep came out & agreed that fence needed repair (have a year warranty). While waiting for them to "schedule" me, I had a gate put up with another company. Informed Amko that they would need to SCHEDULE an appointment to get this done. Had crew call me when they're around the corner after I told them my need to schedule; this does not work as my dog is outside much of the time when I am not home (plus, I don't like people being on my property when I'm not there). I REPEATEDLY leave messages/talk to office guy about scheduling (19 times in total). Today (5 months later) the crew calls me again, saying he's nearby & wants to come fix the fence. I'm at work. I'll fix the damn fence myself because Amko cannot schedule properly & did poor job in the first place anyway. read more

Worst experience ever. I put a deposit down on November 13,2020. My fence was not completed until March 10,2021. I called and called to see when they would start my fence. Starting in January they said they would be getting the material soon. They finally showed up on February 18th. They did half of my fence. They left mud mixed with cement piles all along the borders of my fence. I specifically requested the fence be all the way on the ground because of a small dog that we have and the fence was still high off the ground. My husband used the piles of dirt to fill in the spaces around the fence. They left and never came back or called to let us know when they would finish installing our fence. I finally called a week later and was told the post had to settle in the cement before putting on the gate which is understandable. 2 weeks later they still havent finished my fence or returned my call. I submitted a claim with BBB and finally on March 10th they finished my fence. The gates were way to high that my husband had to drill the gate to be lower. Amko refused to come back and lower stating the ground was too high on one end. My husband dug around it to make it work. We paid $5,100 for the fence. For this amount of money the fence should have been done as requested and with all the piles cleaned up. I will never ever use this company and i will never reccommend anyone to use this company. The owner never returns ur calls and u have to take a step further and get BBB involved to get anything done. read more

We had used Amko several years ago and they did a good job. This time was a complete nightmare. First, I had to hassle them to get started. They were all over me for my deposit, but then slow to show up. They then showed up without out any notice. Even though they knew that gates must open out for areas around a pool they did not start that way. When I told them they had to open out, instead of fixing what they had already done, they tried to adjust. I now have a 3 inch gap in my fence that I was told was the only option. I am not a fence expert, but really?? They never showed up when promised and then showed up unannounced. Showed up at 10 am on Xmas eve! No communication between the "sales" person and the crew! We finally told them to just stop as we were so frustrated and disgusted and send us a bill for what we owed. Even though we ended up telling them to stop before installing the final gate, their invoice had no adjustment. The salesman did always take my calls, but the entire experience was terrible. Oh , I forgot to add that they said they would remove my old fence. They did not. I actually lost about 6 inches of yard because they just built the new fence in front of the old fence! read more

I am livid! I hired AMKO fence to do my fence. I have been getting the run around since Friday (June 1). I keep calling and asking them when they are coming out to do my fence. They were supposed to do it on that Friday but never showed. I called on the following Monday offering an additional payment when they arrive to do the work (I already paid them $700 up front for materials) and they informed me that they rescheduled it to Tuesday or Wednesday (but never called, texted, or e-mailed me about the change). The one call that I received this entire time was from Patrick (on Wednesday, June 6th) telling me that the bad weather on Tuesday set them behind 1 day. When no one showed up or called by late Thursday, I called the office, again. I was told that they would be coming to do my fence Friday morning (June 8th). No one called or showed up, again. I called and left an angry message by 1pm, demanding a return call and refund.....I still got no response or refund. I finally got in touch with someone on that Friday (June 8th) and was told that they could not do a refund (manager was out that day) until Monday (June 11th).So I called amko, again on Tuesday (June 12; today) asking why I have not received a refund. Patrick, had the nerve to say that they did the refund yesterday and that the charge was pending....so I called capital one credit card services (I used this card for the original charge) since I saw no pending return on my account. Amko has not tried to do a return, according to capital one. Capital One is giving me a temporary refund (almost at the 15 day mark where a charge dispute with capital one would be impossible) and 3 days for Amko to prove that they did any service for the amount that they charged me for.....either way, I am getting my money back! read more
