Get through the unnecessarily long intake process and you'll be immediately received with lecturing house employees whose bullshit they tell you is only matched by their attitudes towards recovery, which are simultaneously apathetic and condescending. If by some chance you unfortunately get admitted the only advice that can be imparted is to avoid the red headed house manager as much as humanly possible. There are always sad little men who are dissapointed with how their lives turn out and use whatever little power they have to try and make everyone around them as miserable and self loathing as they are. The only solace is to understand that its them who have to go home to their boring, monotonous and joyless lives every night. Check your logic at the door at Providence Place, because any rational thought process has no place at a house full of vague philosophical advice that listening to would lead you to a road of relapse. Don't let their altruistic mission statement fool you because they will place a dollar over the lives of a struggling addict or alcoholic without hesitation. Instead of sending your loved one there you should just write out a check to providence place and then drop them off on the streets of Portland, because that will likely be whats going to happen if you have any slight disagreement with the management. And at least you'll spare the experience of being put down and will have a little more time to find a functioning place to recover.

But it got down to where I had to make a choice, live or die. Many of the staff were previously addicts themselves. I am 55 and I was a private pay as I didn't have insurance. When I left I was determined to stay on track and I hope and pray that I can. I currently have not had a drink in eight days. I've only been home for one day though. I think I was most afraid of having withdrawal symptoms, but the staff knew what they were doing and other than being tired, I didn't have many. It was really helpful to be around other alcoholics. They knew exactly how I was feeling. They were very careful about Covid and did an instant test and one that they sent out before they would put you in a shared room. I chose not to go onto a group setting where as many others were because they had health insurance. I've struggled with alcohol for quite a while but for some reason this time, I know I can do it. There are cameras in many other bedrooms that I don't think are adequately disclosed. The building is freezing cold so bring extra warm clothes. Overall the nice staff outweighs the freezing cold temperatures in the bedrooms

The receptionist said they could not provide that data because it violates their staff members privacy. They lost $300 from me as a result. Best part related to the massage - across the hallway is Athletes Touch Massage, whose owner who zero problems letting me know his entire stuff is both vaccinated and routinely tested. Stay away from Brio for your own safety.
