Coach let us join practice to feel it out with the kids, and we signed up on the website. It's very chill, flat rate for the year, practices nearly every week day with a lot of flexibility. (We usually make it twice a week). It is low stakes/not currently part of any formal competitions which honestly is best for my kids. Each practice is unique, builds on previous skills, and scrimmage with various team players or 1 on 1. The park has a great open space and good shady spots and picnic tables for the adults watching.

At first, he was enrolled in the ninja class with Coach Nick. Great-fun class and teacher. Perfect for kids with high energy! Then he asked to be a ninja on the parallel bars so we knew it was time to move him over to boys gymnastics. It has been an amazing experience! Coach Michael has been such a great influence on our son. Not only does he have many years of experience teaching, he is also a very caring person. He is the perfect combination of discipline, hard work, fun and kindness. My son adores his coach and, constantly talks about him at home. That's how big of an impact Coach Michael made on him! He makes him feel very comfortable, confident, and excited about gymnastics. In less than a year, he has become stronger, eager, and determined to learn more. We highly recommend those classes! I am extremely disappointed with how this gymnastics facility handled my daughter's injury…read more My 6-year-old daughter injured her neck during a forward roll in the morning. Despite the injury involving her neck, no one contacted us to inform us that an incident had occurred. We only learned about it at pickup around 3:30 PM, when we noticed her neck was significantly swollen and she was in pain. We then took her to the ER, where doctors spent over 7 hours evaluating her to rule out a spinal injury. We did not get home until 3:00 AM. Thankfully, it was not a more serious injury, but the situation could have been much worse. The following day, I met with the facility to understand why we were never notified. The explanations I received were concerning. The front desk staff could not provide a clear account of what happened because different instructors worked the morning and afternoon shifts. It appeared there was little communication or proper handoff between staff members. I was surprised by how disorganized the operation seemed. I was told that staff did not re-evaluate my daughter's condition in the afternoon because she said she was "fine." She is only 6 years old. Children are not always able to accurately assess or communicate the severity of an injury, especially a neck injury. It is the responsibility of trained staff to monitor the situation and notify parents when an injury occurs. When the owner, Danielle, later joined the conversation, she stated that her staff "did exactly what they were supposed to do" and that this had been their protocol for 15 years. She also said they would pay closer attention to my daughter next time. Unfortunately, that completely misses the point. This is not just about my daughter--it is about the safety of every child in their care. Any neck injury should be treated seriously, and parents should be informed immediately. What disappointed me most was not only the lack of communication, but also the lack of accountability. Rather than acknowledging that improvements could be made, management defended a process that failed to notify parents of a potentially serious injury. As a parent, I can no longer trust this facility with my child's safety. I would strongly encourage other parents to carefully consider whether this is the level of communication and care they expect when leaving their children in someone else's supervision.

We've been with Waterworks for almost two years now and we've been at every single Hayward location…read more(Foothill, Hesperian, and now Whipple) mostly due to scheduling reasons and being somewhat equal distance to most of them. After a bit of a snafu with the constant HVAC closures at both Hesperian and Whipple, as well as a very professionally handled customer service escalation (shoutout to the amazing support from Alicia) and additional support from a swim manager (thank you Michelle) we can now happily give Waterworks an updated review! I've have now had my son in lessons with both Tay and Zane and couldn't be happier with our son's progress. We've cycled through many instructors through all our time at Waterworks but Tay and Zane have truly been the best match for my child (and we really have had cycled through 4+ instructors before due to high turnover) and we truly hope Tay and Zane are going nowhere anytime soon! My son's confidence has soared since working with both these instructors and I can't wait to see him swim even more independently. Daydreaming about him joining a swim team one day! He went from being in tears out of fear before every swim lesson to eagerly plopping himself into the pool and looking forward to class every time. And even when he does get nervous, both Tay and Zane know how to help him take deep breaths and practice other coping skills to feel less nervous. Waterworks tends to be on the more expensive side but not that much different in pricing than other swim schools in the area. Most importantly, the indoor pool is a perk as I've had friends recommend some of the local swim clubs but since they're all outdoor, the seasonality of swim wouldn't work for us. I just tell myself we are paying more for the year round access to indoor swim lessons. Thanks again to the Waterworks team especially for helping us hang in there after all the ups and downs!

The instructors are nice and really try to get the kids comfortable with water. My youngest was very afraid of water and would only sit on the steps, but by day 3, he was comfortable to submerged his whole body in. We signed the kiddos up for the mini summer sessions which are Monday thru Thursdays for 30 minutes each day. The class size is 1 instructor to 4 kids. We have done 2 weeks now with Happy Fish and on week 3. We have seen significant improvement in the kids swimming abilities and they look forward to going to class every day, which is a huge win given both were scared of water. Happy Fish is Fremont is a great school with friendly staff who know how to work with all age…read moregroups. We've been taking lessons for years. The low turnover of staff is great for little learners to build trust and confidence in class. The different levels for lessons are achievable and not just pushing students through like some other schools. The facility is clean and plenty of stalls for changing.
