This review is for the Ninja and Boys Gymnastics level 1 & 2 classes. Our son has been going to Top Flight for a couple of years now and, we couldn't be happier. The coaches are terrific! At first, he was enrolled in the ninja class with Coach Nick. Great-fun class and teacher. Perfect for kids with high energy! Then he asked to be a ninja on the parallel bars so we knew it was time to move him over to boys gymnastics. It has been an amazing experience! Coach Michael has been such a great influence on our son. Not only does he have many years of experience teaching, he is also a very caring person. He is the perfect combination of discipline, hard work, fun and kindness. My son adores his coach and, constantly talks about him at home. That's how big of an impact Coach Michael made on him! He makes him feel very comfortable, confident, and excited about gymnastics. In less than a year, he has become stronger, eager, and determined to learn more. We highly recommend those classes! I would say that overall I am very happy with the last few years my children have spent at Top Flight. Not all coaches are created equal, but they have a good balance of coaches for those that are strictly recreational gymnasts and those that want to go further. My kids have stuck it out since pre-pandemic, and it's the only sport they don't give me a hard time about going back week after week. That has to say something. If your kid has the attention span of a gnat, maybe the ninja class is more their pace. It's a little more fun and a little less structure. I know my son enjoys his ninja classes when I have to find time for makeup sessions and that's the only time that works for me. The monthly tuition is reasonable, you can negotiate with the coaches for extra private lessons, and they have fun flight nights where they serve pizza, and cheaper open gym sessions where you can drop off the kids and go on a date with your significant other for a reasonable fee. Our make up class is for the memorial day and we dropped off 2 days after from the active enrollment for the summer and now my son is not able to take a make up class unless we enroll again. I would not recommend this place to anyone with a child in the Fremont area. The owner/instructor Paul is rude and very unprofessional in every sense of the word. He acts as if he truly does not enjoy working with children but still needs to collect the money. This is not an inclusive environment and they do not know how to deal with children with higher energy levels. They often use inexperienced teenagers to run their classes without any adult supervision. While my child was there in class, the teenager was pulling and shoving him around and constantly yelling at him, mind you he's 4 years old. I thought I would take a chance with this place since it it closer our other gymnastic studio we used in Union City however after this highly frustrating experience, I will drive the extra miles. The office person, Kelly really knows how to throw around the 4 letter expletives and will threaten to have you kicked out of the program if you complain about their staffs treatment of the children. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. Office manager Kelly was extremely rude to me. They don't know how to talk to parents. Though they are kids gymnastics, they have a least sense of how to behave with children. My daughter complained several times of having rude episodes with coaches and owner Paul. This guy's behavior is horrible He almost threatened us with aggressive gestures . They are only here for money. Other than that they don't care about parents' sorry child concerns. My daughter is in Red Robin class with coach Carlos. He is very patient with kids and we really appreciate that. We toured nearby gymnastics as well and we decide to send our daughter here because of his passion, profession and patience. He treats students like his own. My daughter loves to go to his class! My daughter was enrolled at Top Flight for a few months in the Red Robins class. You would never guess that there is a huge gymnastics gym in this plaza but it's tucked away in the corner. It's a very spacious gym with a couple of trampolines and foam pits, uneven bars, balance beams, and a large floor. The Red Robins class is located on the second floor, a small area that has equipment for toddlers and little kids. Occasionally, the teachers would take the kids down to the main floor and jump on the large trampolines into the foam pit. The upstairs gets really hot and stuffy during the summer months. There are 2 instructors, one who coaches the older kids in the Red Robins class and the another instructor who coaches the younger kids. Both instructors were ok, however, there was a severe lack of engagement with the kids. One of the instructors did not appear to have solid command of the class which impacted the safety of the kids. The class lasts 45 min. The tuition is less than at Pac West Gymnastics, however, there is a $45 registration fee. Free trials are offered as are make up classes. I'm not sure how the other instructors are at Top Flight but we decided to move our daughter to another gym and have been happier with the new gym environment and instructor. read more

I would give this school 0 stars if I could, but 1 will do. This is NOT a school I would recommend bringing your kids to. The main reason is THEY DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE OR THE PROPER INSURANCE FOR INJURIES. Thats what they don't tell you. Kelly at the front desk told me this MULTIPLE times during our conversations when she was not being rude. They are more stressed about an injury due to NOT having insurance than your actual child breaking anything. What they offer online is NOT what you get in person. They (primarily the owner Paul & Kelly) are rude and don't know how to speak to children or parents. They will belittle you in front of children, parents and anyone within ear shot if they feel the need to address you about your child. They do NOT have the social awareness to know this is disrespectful but also very rude and unkind. The owner is NEVER around to deal with issues or complaints, but he is rude too and will tell you he does not care about your business, issue or complaint and to "get your shit and go". He makes it known he does NOT like his job, dealing with people, or even being at the gym. After a very rude encounter with him where he embarrassed me and cussed me out like HIS child in front of everyone. I complained to Kelly, and told her my intentions to drop my son from the program bc the was rude and the teachers, (some of them), do NOT know how to deal with children AT ALL. She offered me a free class for the month which was nice, but only because I said I was about to leave because you can feel the bad enery all through this place and the staff is just no. But she did tell me that he (Paul) makes her feel uncomfortable at times and makes it known his disdain for the gym and that's just his personality to be rude to everyone at HIS gym, even the staff. So that makes it ok? You can tell these people are here for a check, not because there is any passion. They do NOT know how to deal with children with hyperactive issues or other disorders. THIS IS NOT AN INCLUSIVE PLACE TO BE. And there are better gyms for children. They also do NOT know how to deal with children of color that are not their usual white, Indian or Asian clients. They believe that their usual clientele have better temperments that they are more "used" to. Anything other than what they are used to and your child gets left out, treated differently or blamed or threatened to be let go because they rather NOT have you there. After the MULTIPLE issues I had at this place I came in looking for Paul (who was unavailable) in order to speak with him about my complaints and take my child out. Instead I spoke with Kelly and told her I wanted to disenroll my child PROMPTLY from this diaster of a school. I told her I felt my son was being discriminated against for his issues (which is expressed by his behaviors at times) a topic I spent well OVER 35 MINUTES discussing with her and she was WELL aware of. I also told her that I did feel certain people at this place were borderline racist. Based on MY interactions w staff and the owner and what things were constantly being brought up to me regarding my child. At this point she got mad, told me to shut my fuking mouth that she did NOT want to hear my bullshit. So I said ok, pointed out her actions is EXACTLY what I was referring to then she threatened to call the police on me MULTIPLE TIMES for asking for a refund. Which is EXACTLY why I did not want my child there. Upon asking for a refund for the month I paid for with a receipt. She REFUSED to give it to me although i asked MULTIPLE times to make sure they did not keep my money for a service they did NOT provide.. Mocking me about my financial situation which had NOTHING to do with me wanting a refund. As of yet she has still NOT emailed me a receipt of refund. Do NOT bring your child here. Save yourself a headache and deal with people that actually have a passion for children. read more

My daughter has been enrolled in the Blue Jays class for a couple months now and is doing so well! Just enough structure for a 4 year old with some free play mixed in as well. We absolutely love Coach Thomas!!! She is slow to warm up in new environments and with new people but he took the time to really make a connection with her. This gym is 1st class all the way. From outside you would never know this place was any larger than a small retail store, man was I wrong! its about the size of a Costco inside!! I would stay away from this place! My teenage daughter signed up for an evening adult gymnastics class. She went for several months and we always prepaid a month in advance. One day Top Flight called me to say that they had dropped the adult class because of lack of interest. I asked how I could get a refund on what I had prepaid, but they said that there would be no refund since I did not give them 30 days notice to drop the class. How crazy is that? THEY dropped the class but won't give a refund because I didn't give 30 days notice. We would never have stopped going to the class if it was still available. I asked to speak to the manager, but she will not return my calls or speak to me to try to work things out. Beware! read more

Very disappointed. I had my two kids here for a few months and their coach was nice but neglected the class. I saw him walk away leaving them near high mats and beams, and one of the other kids fell and the coach had no idea. I tried talking to the owner who was very rude and he said he had no time and refused to listen. This review is based on bringing my one and two year old children here about once a month through a mom's group. My children are obviously just running around and not going there to learn any type of skill. I can not comment on the coaches or anything like that. I will say that both children love this place. Our group play time is similiar to their Mommy and Me class, which gives parents and children full access to the place. With 2 children so young, that is a bit dangerous. There is "junk" all along the perimeters of the place- rolls of extra carpet, extra and broken equipment, tools, etc. Basically the stuff that should be in a seperate storage area. I am constantly pulling my son out of this stufff. Last time there was even a motorcycle by the back door. A few mothers had to keep their children away from it. Some of the ceiling tiles are broken, and the place just looks a little... worn. There are also some safety concerns on the actual equipment. For example, the one trampoline is built into the floor and has a gym mat bumper all along the edges covering the springs and frame, but the mat isn't secured to anything, so it always slips around. My one year old could easily fall through the spaces between the springs. I shadow her like a hawk, but some parents just let their kids run wild. Also, since all the equipment is available to us, the kids can explore that white dust used with the bars and climb pretty high on some equipment. I really have to watch them. With all that being said, both children LOVE this place. They have a ton of fun in the foam pit and on the trampolines, and they like the balance beams (4" off the floor), the toys in the corner, and the bounce house the staff inflates. The staff are friendly, but young. I've only ever seen teenagers work here, and they don't monitor the kids at all. I've even seen a very young boy (3 or 4) in the lobby alone, with the door to the parking lot propped open, and I took him back to the play area, but the staff didn't. I later saw that his mom had 2 other kids there and must have lost track of him for a minute. The lockers are just open cubbies which are kind of tucked away and out of view, so I don't bring in anything because it doesn't seem safe (especially if they're propping the front door open). So why do I keep coming back? Because I'm prepared to feel like a chicken without a head for one hour a month as I shadow my laughing, running, bounching, foam-pit-jumping, balance-beam-walking, bounce-house-jumping, totally happy children. For $10 each, they get an hour of absolute fun that can't be duplicated anywhere else, and these days create the best naps all month. read more

WOW.... I signed my 2 daughters (2 and 14) up for the free trial class hoping this place would be a fit since it is close to home. First thing, when walking inside there was a long wait and the lady behind the desk did not acknowledge anyone! This is already cutting into the scheduled class time. I ended up having to bring my son, so when I asked the lady would he be able to participate as well, he asked me if he was in their system and I let them know that he wasn't so instead of offering to add him into the system they just flat out said no. Expecting him to watch all the other kids jump and play around. The young man, the instructor whoever he is that was upstairs teaching the toddler's, well he was actually just sitting there looking very uninterested and unamused was absolutely disrespectful and completely not a people person at all whatsoever. I was asking him questions and trying to speak to him and all he did was look at me and asked me to take my sun shoes off. I grabbed all my kids and I left and I would never go back not even for 1 million free classes. The place is dirty, dusty and their equipment looks like it's going to just fall apart. read more

My daughter Dania started going to this place since last summer, she loved it, she is always waiting to go there , always excited when it is the time to go there. Nice people from their management to their teachers, I also heard great feedbacks from my friends who theirs kids attended this school for couple for years now. My twin boys love this place! They are in the Red Robins class with Dina and Alicia as their teachers and they are amazing! They really focus on this kids, help with certain moves/abilities, and teach them something new every week. Each week they have a different set of skills/routines they learn and are constantly moving for 45 min. And you can't beat the price! I can't afford daycare so this is a good alternative to keep my boys interacting with other kids and learn how to follow instructions. I hosted a birthday party here and was very disappointed! Extremely disorganized & run by a bunch of teenagers. At my sons party they mistyped the end time on the invite & then asked us to leave even early though the party wasn't done. Then a couple of weeks later for my kids friends party they completely blew the date. The parents were frazzled when all the guests arrived and the place was closed. They were supposed to organize the food, the goody bags, everything......Their coaches are good however! read more

My daughter is currently enrolled in level 3 with Coach Dina, she loves gymnastics! So for her 9th birthday party this was the perfect choice. Coach Dina happened to be her party host and everything was fabulous. She and another coach really made the experience enjoyable for all the party guests, they helped to set up, serve food and clean up. Great party place! read more

I had a birthday party there for my 2 year old. It was a total disaster and I ended up feeling embarrassed about inviting my friends and family there. Some of my complaints include: -they staffed only 2 people for a party of 19 toddlers...naturally it was complete chaos -they placed us up in their dungeon of a party room, which was filthy, too hot, and couldn't possibly fit all the kids, let alone the parents too. I have to wonder if they were legally allowed to even try to fit that many people in there. Their bathroom was also quite filthy. They really should be ashamed to represent their facility this way. -the staff didn't help with setting up or with anything during the cake/ice cream time. They didn't even offer to turn on a fan. My guests were hot and cranky up there. -the gym/play time was very dangerous and the parents of my guests ended up having to help coach to keep the kids safe. Seriously, the parents were the ones who ended up monitoring the trampoline and making sure the kids didn't start jumping onto each other in the foam pit. Their trampoline/tumble track set-up has too many open sides, as well as dangerous equipment right next to it...it's a serious liability I'm sure if anyone were to fall off of it, and it made it very difficult to keep the children safe. They also didn't have anyone monitoring the bounce house. Overall, I'm shocked that they would allow there to be such an unsafe set-up. Obviously I was not able to relax and enjoy my son's party while I was busy trying to keep him from getting seriously injured. Naturally I called to speak with the management about my awful experience. The woman I spoke with thanked me for informing her of what happened, admitted that the staff made many mistakes at my party, and apologized for my experience. However, she did NOT offer me any kind of discount, or anything at all to make up for it. That's just poor business practice, and so I feel compelled to publicize my experience to others so they won't make the same mistake I did. Consider yourself warned: do not have a birthday party there. read more

I only came here once for a trial class. So please keep that in mind... I was looking for a gym class for my active son. Top Flight is close to our house so I signed up for a free trial class. I really wanted to like this place, but I did not. The facility was dark, dusty and somewhat outdated. The instructor was ok, but there were too many kids "trying" the class, so it was hard for her to work with 7+ three year olds. My son enjoyed the class, but he spent most of the time running around with another boy and not participating in the activities. We will try other facilities to see what is the standard. read more

My 2 kids have been going to classes here for around 1+ year. Younger one goes to red robbin, the coaches are engaging. Elder one is on level 1, coach Brandon is really good. Had a great time here for my daughter's birthday. It was a blast to see a bundle of toddlers running around and exploring the equipment. Pluses: bounce house (which comes with deluxe package), lots to play with, cake from Vienna bakery included, favors included, staff were very kind and helpful Comes with pizza and juice, but we supplied our own food/drinks Only a few cons: time felt really crunched as there was an event going on right after and we needed to get out pronto, so after playing, had to scarf food and cake and EXIT! Also, the favors that the Gymnastics people put together didn't take into account that the kids were mostly less than 3 and there were definite little trinkets that could qualify as choking hazards if parents weren't paying attention! That being said, I would recommend just going over what's going to be in the bags and adjusting or supplying your own. My 4 year old twins and 9 year old son take gymnastics here. They LOVE it. We came from Bay Aerials which was good but I didn't care for the coaches there. The coaches at Top Flight are friendly, knowledgeable and wonderful with the kids! The staff is very accommodating when we missed a class and gladly let us do make ups. We've been taking our son here for 11 years. He started out in a tots class when he was 4. He is 15 now and thanks to Top Flight, he has become an elite gymnast! The coaches and staff are great! My daughter was in the Blue Jay class for over a year with Coach Alicia and Coach Dina together and then just Coach Alicia. In the very beginning, I did not think the coaches were engaged or nurturing but I have changed my mind completely. My daughter is very cautious with some of her teachers in her regular weekly routine, all of whom I think are kind and nurturing, but she especially loves Coach Alicia. For the past few months we attended the 11:00am class on Friday mornings and it was like a private lesson as she was usually the only one in the class. Coach Alicia prepared her well for Level 1 by giving her lots of time on the equipment downstairs as well as giving her advice to help prepare her for her new teachers in Level 1. Her new teachers are very patient with her as well. Overall, I am very happy with my daughter's experience at Top Flight Gymnastics. My son took the Urban Gymnastics/Ninja classes last year and he enjoyed it immensely. He loved his coach, Coach Drew as well. I am giving it four stars only because I am not sure about whether all the other coaches would have given my kids as good an experience. Some of them do not seem very engaged or nurturing with the kids but I cannot comment with any certainty since I have very little interaction with them and they teach the higher levels which are more competitive than the lower level classes in which my kids are or have been enrolled. read more

My boys have been going to Top Flight for over two years and we love it. They started in the parent and me class and are now in the 3 and 4 year old class. They really look forward to their weekly class. I really like the caring and nurturing environment in which my boys are learning gymnastics and other necessary life skills. The instructors are patient and work really well with the kids. I've seen my boys build their confidence both on and off the equipment since we started. Ok, so went for a trial for my 5 year old girl in level 1. Did not like at all. The instructors spent half the time chit chatting, without watching at all how the little ones were doing. They would just give some verbal instructions once in a while, and then go back into their chit chat. The school's rates and fees are high but they gave dont care abt the students. Wonderful gym with great recreational and team programs for both girls and boys. They do fun things, too, like in October the coaches and owner dress up in costumes, decorate the lobby in "glow in the dark" fashion, they do face painting, give out candy and stamps to the kids, etc. Tatyana is an amazing team coach, she has impressive credentials from Russia & the Ukraine and she's good with the kids. I enrolled my daughter in gym class for 5 months and she loved coming to class every week! In February, when I asked her what she wanted for her birthday and she said she wanted to have her 7th birthday party there. I purchased the birthday party package includes the invitation, jump time, the bounce houses, free birthday tshirt, pizza, drinks, napkins, & utensils, plus cake. My daughter was looking forward to receive a birthday tshirt, but she never received it, it's breaking my heart. The staff forgot the birthday tshirt. So when my daughter returned her gym class, I had to ask staff a few times for her birthday tshirt and they finally ordered tshirts online. They finally gave her a birthday tshirt and extra tshirt at the last month of May. Waited 3 months for a birthday tshirt, that's uncool. Not only that, but also the staff ate her lunch during practice and not very professional.... :( read more

Went to see what their program was about since my daughter wants to start gymnastics. There were no kids there at 1pm, there was one parent being help and there were 4 employees. I waited for about 10 minutes then realized that none of the other 3 ladies were obviously wanting to help me since they were too busy chatting and looking at their nails. I took my girls and decided not to join b/c if that's what their customer service is like then I don't want to spend my money there.
