The staff was impressive even before we arrived, being very helpful on the phone several times to help prepare our trip. We had not been to the Keys or a dive resort before and the process was explained well The room was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The process of doving was challenging for us but our dive masters were patient, professional, and made the whole experience enjoyable. First off the staff was great as was the dive and snorkel staff. (Amy Kevin Max) But the "resort" was extremely underwhelming. We stayed 3 nights, they only had coffee and fruit out on one morning. The pool deck was under construction which limited 50% seating and caution tape all around. The Beachfront was ridiculous as it was a triangle of sand (kayaks and paddle board took up most space, leading into a grassy seaweed lagoon. I will probably stay in another location next time. read more

We stayed at the Amoray Resort and went out 3 times on the Amoray dive boat. The resort personnel, the boat crew and the scuba diving guides were friendly, upbeat, and professional. The dive guides did a marvelous job showing us the reefs and shipwrecks. I was also entirely secure in their dive skills and felt safe each dive. Special shout out to Bre, Dr. G, and Amy! Rental equipment was clean and in excellent condition. The resort setting is stunning with spectacular sunsets over the gulf. The room accommodations were clean and the beds were comfortable. I am writing about the snorkeling trip we took. Was told it was on a catamaran. It was a pontoon boat. It was really a dive excursion that threw in snorkeling. Had to ask for a life vests. All they had were these vests you need to inflate. Kept floating up on our faces. I live on the water. Never get seasick but 1/3 of the snorkelers and divers got ill. They kept saying " make sure you throw up over the edge of the boat...don't get it on the boat and the fish love it! WTF people? Is the Crew looking for entertainment? Not ONE PERSON suggested dramamine prior to the trip, knowing a lot of people get sick. If a third of your restaurant business or a third of your customers at any business got sick on a regular basis, would it not make sense to alert people, prior to the departure? Very unaware. Be advised...get a patch, take your dramamine. They won't tell you, f9r whatever reasons...and then they want a " big tip". You gotta earn that tip! read more

Beautiful little resort reason I give 3 stars is for 2 reason. Bed sinks to the middle couldn't get a goodnights rest. It feels great but then you wake up in the middle like an air mattress losing air. And then second thing is the door has no way to block the light. Sun comes in at 7 am and there no way to block it. To much light In the room and you won't be able to sleep in. Really nice people but they need to fix the bed issue and door ASAP. read more

We didn't originally book through Amoray for Diving but our SailFish Scuba shop put us on their boat because there weren't enough divers to run theirs. We still got our own personal guide which I enjoy. The Amoray crew is super friendly and helpful. Travis definitely does his best to entertain the guests. They took us to a couple wonderful spots on Molasses Reef where we saw sharks, rays, and eels. They even took our temperature before boarding and required masks until our on the water. We had a great Discover Scuba experience with the Amoray team. We had never gone scuba diving before. The Amoray team taught us everything we needed to know took us out on two dives where we saw a shipwreck, a reef shark, a stingray, and a bunch of other stuff. It was awesome and the entire family loved it. We did not stay at the resort so we can't comment on it, but the dive team was excellent. read more

I had an amazing weekend at Amoray. Our room was clean and updated with zero issues of any kind. Front office staff was exceptional and extremely accommodating for us for our late arrival. Bayside views are simply spectacular and a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the Florida sunset. The pool and all of the facilities were very nice, ample parking and very clean. Diving today was awesome with stops at Dry Rocks/Christ of the Abyss and Banana Patch/Grecian Rocks. After our dove I had the pleasure of meeting Jeff the owner of the Dive Operation who was very outgoing and welcoming. Horrific customer service, the rooms are small and amenities are missing parts. I couldn't turn off one of my lamps because the switch was broken. The walls and fan were stained with cigarette smoke and the pool was full of floating garbage. This place exists to empty your pockets and nothing else, would recommend sleeping in a ditch over this. read more

My boyfriend and I have stayed here twice. Both times the rooms were great and the diving was ASTOUNDING. On the diving: everyone was knowledgeable, ready with answers to every question I asked. They not only answered my questions but went above and beyond explaining; they truly enjoy what they're doing and it shows. I felt safe with Captain Nicky and her mates Aaron and Kaylyn. Dive masters David and Del Rio were on point with keeping us safe while making sure we saw every creature. Marketed for exactly what it was. Amoray has undergone renovation which definitely upgraded some of the more dated infrastructure. There were two of us in my reservation. Clear signage off of the road. Plenty of accessible parking. Small check in and dive desk in the same building. Staff was perfectly pleasant and ready to help. Room was well kept and welcoming for our arrival. Basic kitchen and bathroom necessities were available complimentary to the stay. California King bed which was great. WiFi was offered but connection hit or miss. Condos are close together so you can hear every single sound. Dive check in was easy, less than 100 feet from our condo, and got our rented gear without issue. Boat and departure point were also only a couple of steps away our condo. Captain G, Berk, Bree were our guides for the day and most outgoing. Made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the trip. Ease for diving 10/10. Great for an exclusive diving stay. read more

I don't even know where to begin with the level of amazing that we experienced this week with Amoray ! The resort itself is gorgeous, clean, comfortable, and centrally located. The dives (four day dives and one night) were truly outstanding with amazing captains and first mates (Thank you Captains Travis & G and a HUGE shoutout to Kalen for being so helpful, hilarious, and having great tips about the locations). In the front office every single Amoray staff member was incredibly kind so I'd run out of characters naming them all but I wish I could personally thank each and every one again. My favorite of the abundant dive operators in Key Largo. Amy Slate's Amoray Dive Resort is professional, conservation-minded, educational, and very plush. Their main boat -- the Amoray Diver -- is a large catamaran with the best ladder system around (big, sturdy ladders on both sides of the boat). There's a ton of space on board, a nice sun deck for the ride out and back, and a water rinse. They have fresh cut fruit between your 1st and 2nd dive. The crew is the best in the keys! Captain Trevor, and guide Mason really do a spectacular job. They're friendly, welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable. Mason in particular does a great job of explaining diving with conservation in mind. He tells about coral reefs in the area, plastic pollution stemming, and other important policies not all divers or dive guides are mindful of. He makes the trip fun and safe for divers and the oceans. On the way back home, ask them to sing the "That's Amoray" song -- it will make your day! The gift shop is also one of the best around. There's not a ton of gear selections to buy, but they do have an awesome 50% off table where you can get stuff for cheap (gloves, hood, mask cover). They also have the cutest designs of t-shirts and tanks around. The ladies who work the gift shop are equally friendly and helpful. Everyone I've taken out with this dive operator raves about how wonderful the experience is. If you're diving or snorkeling in Key Largo, make this your stop! read more

I was looking to book a dive trip in Florida and I chose Amy Slate's...... I am SO happy I did. The check in experience was amazing!!!! They were pleasant and welcoming. My room, well is was big enough for eight!! I cannot say enough good words about this place! I stayed in the Grouper 12H room which has endless unobstructed views! On to the dive..... I get on the boat and there are only three divers, this generally means dive cancelled! Not here they took us out to the best dive spots without a word... Not one complaint! In CA where I dive if 15 plus divers do not show the dive is cancelled on the spot! (Rude) I was truly impressed by this resort the Divemaster and Captain! I have stayed at Amoray and dived about six time with them. Out of all the diving boats, Capt Mikes boat is the best equipped with anything for an emergency, to quick snacks and even a fresh water shower. The crew is very caring and help with the setting up of tanks. Capt mike always has the best suggestions and he is just the coolest guy to have driving the boat to your destination dive. My last dive was just simply memorable for me, we dive at the "Washington house", a beautiful reef about an hour out of key largo. It was starry night with a crescent moon. I only remember one time a while back that I had seen so many stars in the night sky. I got to see sea turtles on the reef ;))))))))), lobsters and even the spawning of coral with a couple of sharks. When we got back from our 40 minute dive, capt had us some nice orange slices to hydrate. The boat had a huge seat on the front of the boat so I just laid there mesmerized by the stars. Very interesting how still was the night and the stars were just so beautiful taking up the entire sky. I just can't wait to dive with Amoray again.Until then...drink up me hearties yo ho. read more

I'm going with 5 on this one, but if there were 1/2's I would be at 4-1/2 since they don't have internet access. If they did I could stay here MUCH, MUCH longer :). My husband and I were traveling to FL for a regular visit to the Venice/Sarasota area and decided to pop down to the Keys for the weekend to get some extra diving in. Key Largo is at the tip so we figured we would start there. I found Amoray while looking around online and it looked like exactly what we wanted, 4 dives and a stay overnight. This was exactly what we were looking for, everyone was so nice in the office even though I'm sure I drove Dan crazy with questions :) and if not for the size boats they take out our dive trip would have been ruined or I just wouldn't have made it through since the seas were around 3-4' both days. Scott and Joe were excellent captains and Christy and Chad (aka: Mississippi) made setup, change-out and getting on and off the boat a dream. I would highly recommend Amoray to anyone looking for a place to dive in Key Largo, it's not fancy, but it's exactly what you need! read more

The resort itself is amazing! The rooms are nice and clean and perfect for a group of hard core divers looking to dive a lot. However, the boat captain, Tim, was a huge jerk with a bad attitude. He was grumpy and miserable from the time we first stepped up to the boat on day one. Day two didn't get any better and his mean smart ass quips and nasty attitude just followed all week. We talked to the front desk about the problem and it didn't seem to help. The deck hand, Mason, was absolutely amazing! He worked all week to counter balance the attitude from the captain. He was friendly knowledgeable and went out of his way to make our two young daughters (12- a diver and 5- a snorkeler) feel comfortable and have a good time. He allowed my younger daughter to tease him and push him off the boat and he even went snorkeling with us and pointed out a reef shark so the girls could see it. One day we had Captain Mike as our captain and he was so amazing we wish we would have had him all week. Then on our night dive we had, Captain Travis as our captain who was also amazing and an excellent captain. The boats at Amy's are great for diving, the ride out to the dive sites are super quick and easy and the diving is always top notch. I would recommend asking to go to Molasses Reef early in your dive trip, that is their best diving. Absolutely would have rated a 5 star if it weren't for the awful captain we were stuck with most of the week. read more

Just went last week the day before Thanksgiving. Amoray may be the best organized and efficient outfit I've dove with. Most places make you lug tanks from the gear locker to the boat and back again...and if the boat fits just one tank per diver per dive you have to lug the tank back to the locker switch them out and lug again the next tank for the 2nd dive. NOT what I want to do when I'm on vacation and paying for this experience. Amoray had the tanks for both dives loaded up and we only had to take the vest and BCD to the boats and back. It was really easy and I REALLY appreciate that. Travis and Shawn(I think or Chris was it??) were really easy to follow and always attentive to help. They even switched the 2nd tank for us and just told us to chill and relax in between dives. The girls in the Office were all kind and attentive. HIGHLY recommended if you're in the Key Largo area. read more

Really clean rooms, helpful staff. They give you a paper printout of the hotel grounds layout that also includes plenty of restaurants nearby. Very laid back atmosphere, and we absolutely plan on using this location again. Staying in 6H. Above the closet is black mold. I am highly allergic and it is not recommended for this room. Maybe other rooms are different. There is a dehumidifier in the room. Wow they asked us to wait while they did something on the room. Now if you are not like me and want a nice place to stay it's okay. However, I can not handle black mold at all. Wish we did not sign something saying no refunds. I would highly recommend somewhere else look up harmful effects of black mold and choose accordingly. read more

The dive boat was clean, smooth, and perfect for our 2 tank dive trip out to Elbow Reef. On board we were offered drinks and sandwiches, and was spoiled with staff that set up our equipment, changed our tanks between dives, and couldn't have been nicer from the moment we stepped foot on the property. We went to key largo for a wedding and ended up staying here. The prices were better than most of the competition around. We were only there for one night and didn't use any of the activities provided by the bed and breakfast so I can't comment on the diving activists. The room was alright but the beds could have been a little better. Also, the shower needed a deep clean. You can also get a 1 o'clock checkout for an extra $20. Good location. read more

We booked our dive vacation here because of the advertised on-site dive trips. However, when we arrived we were informed that the dive boat was "out for service" and we'd have to drive to other local dive companies. No one apologized for this inconvenience, nor were we offered any compensation for this huge disappointment. I would have expected some type of compensation (a simple apology would have been a good start). We had to haul our dive gear back and forth in our car. I would have expected to be notified of this change prior to arrival. Additionally, the bed was super uncomfortable, the walls are paper thin and the loud, party-all-night construction crew staying in the room next to us made for some sleepless nights listening to vomiting partiers. Sunsets were gorgeous, location was good. We're still discussing whether or not we'd go back. read more
