I ate here sometime last month and loved it. The girl behind the counter recommended I try chicken swammie (that's a makor misspell) but it tasted delicious!! I didn't wait more than 20 minutes, I liked their pita bread and cucumber dip thing. I really wish I knew the names to better explain it but the chicken was moist, it lasted through 2 hours of hula practice and the potatoes were my favorite. & I AM A BIG STARCH FAN. It's also a Hooka bar, I didn't try it out but the people there looked like it was a descent selection. I don't personally do it often but it's alright. Not a tobacco fan it flares the asthma. The age group that I guess normally would be 16-50years. The seating has booths and then there's intimate booths fit for 2-3 people doing hooka. Atmosphere is dark with that low lighting effect. I wouldn't recommend the kids menu after 5pm. It's more of a grown up fare after that. I want to come back for dinner there and it was priced pretty descent. $$ kind fare. read more

I've been coming here since 2016. I loved when it was owned by the original owner. It was a place that was mostly overlooked which I enjoyed because my husband and I would come smoke & drink Turkish coffee or black tea. During the pandemic management changed and this place was geared towards a different crowd. A crowd that longed for bars and clubs but couldn't go due to closures and other restrictions. So it went from a real hookah LOUNGE to a hookah CLUB. Coming here during that time became fun in a different way, but now it's safe to say this place fell off HARD. The wait staff are pretty attentive and for the most part always have been even on the busiest nights but I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in the availability or rather lack there of in hookah flavors and alcohol. Now all you get is a menu full of red lines because they no longer care to stock up. I even feel bad for the DJ at this point. He used to have a room where every table was taken and now not so much. I went this past weekend and sadly that may be my last visit unless there's a significant change. I'm guessing since bars and clubs are open people have more options so this place just isn't it anymore. read more

Waitress who brought our hookah was rude set it down and just said "here". ALSO place smells terrible I know it's not the hookah i'm very sure it's the smell of sewage, the bathroom showed that the smell was coming from there. If I could give it negative stars I would. I've only been here twice, but both experiences were very pleasant. The first time was later in the night and there was a good ambiance with music. The second time was early in the evening right when they open, a very quiet time, but relaxing nonetheless. The first time I went there, I had a hookah with Turkish coffee, and it was the absolute BEST Turkish coffee I've ever had. I complimented the owner (his name is Saeb, I hope I'm spelling that right). He sat down at our table and explained his methodical process of making his Turkish coffee. He's clearly a man that takes pride in his work. The second time I went, I had dinner and a hookah. They're very attentive to the hookahs and they last forever. The food was decent, and the prices are reasonable. I got another pot of Turkish coffee, which was just as good as the first, with a side of cookies. I plan on returning. read more

First and foremost, the hookah is quite harsh in comparison to other bars in the medical district of San Antonio. Because of its convenient location, I must have gone to Amore at least twenty times throughout the summer and most of the times, I look back on the hookah experience and ask myself why I didn't just make the drive out to a different place for better hookah. Though it tastes delicious and the service at Amore is pretty decent or even above average, I would still skip Amore if enjoying hookah is high on your priority list. The ambiance is fine, the patio seating makes for a good alternative environment, and the mediterranean fries are absolutely impeccable. A must order if you come to Amore! read more

This is my second time here. Look the atmosphere is nice. I like the poetry night vibe and the DJ was amazing. Our waitress was amazing too.....BUT $12 for what looked like 2ounces of drink with an insane number of ice cubes. I just don't know about that. Then we ordered food and those chicken wings could have broke a car window as hard as they were. If i go back it will strictly be to listen to the poetry and DJ. The food was eh okay, the falafels were dry and somewhat hard though. I'm only rating this a one star, because the service was sort of not my kind of service I prefer. It may have been somewhat attentive, but we had so many different people coming up to asking if we had ordered (quite a few times asked the same question someone else asked a few minutes beforehand), and some of them looked like they could have been the customers. Amore Cafe exceeded my expectations. The owner was very friendly and always made sure our group was good, the workers were always around and awesome. Made sure we got our food and hookah on time, and continually came to check if we were good. The prices are very affordable for the quality you are getting, plus the atmosphere is very original. Music choice was good, tv's showed the games, and the hookah was always being kept up with, whether it was changing the coals often or making sure it wasn't getting too harsh. I lived in London for 5 years where I experienced some of the best hookah and ambiance cafes for snacks. As well as experienced nice bars in Turkey/Istanbul. This cafe is very authentic and reminds me of those fast but fun cafes in Europe! The hookah quality was very nice and the fries were delicious. Came in for shisha and the hummus. The hummus was actually very good, and made in house. Their menu has a good spread, and the house specialty is the chicken shawarma, I'm told. Worst experience. From the waitstaff to the food and the Hookas. The waitress was clueless...not mention they were out of two food items on their menu. Then our party was consistently brought the wrong orders, tabs were incorrect and the hooka flavor we wanted they were out of as well. Mind you this was a large group on a Friday night...how do you run out of hooka flavors when that is the main sell of your business??? The flavor we chose was not what we were brought. Then to top it off I had to repeat to the waitress what we ordered so she could bring is our tab, which took easily another 30 minutes and we had to go find her to check out. We came here for a date-night and my husband wanted some authentic Middle Eastern food. The food was amazing and as authentic as you can get. I love garlic sauce (toum) and make it myself. Let me just say, their toum is amazing and actually tastes like garlic. Many restaurants alter their recipes to appease to those who may not like garlic. But, not this one it's authentic and the way it should be made. The food is also very flavorful and includes many Middle Eastern spices. We had chicken shawarma, chicken taouk, and a pot of tea. Great place, my friends and I tried it last night and I can say first thing we liked is how friendly that staff are and they provided excellent customer service. Good came to the table in no time for the most part. Double Apple hooka was great, not so much about the grape one we didn't really enjoy that one. The dance show was very nice and the dance was very friendly and talented as well. I ordered a chicken shwarma gyro at the suggestion of the waitress, and it was drier than the desert and flavorless.
