I can't believe some of the negative reviews. I'm a remote worker (like, my office is literally gone and I will be working from home for for the foreseeable future) so I've been taking my work to Amore when I need a change of scenery and to escape my rude, obnoxious, loud neighbors. They have this quiet back room that I found that is perfect if you need a quieter space but still like the hustle and bustle of the coffee shop in the background. WiFi crapped out on me a couple of times but it is fast and I was able to get work done without any major delays. I love their little lunch soup/salad/sandwich combos. The ingredients are fresh and for about $10 you get a good size lunch. Can't beat it. read more

The service and small town feel of Amore' is very inviting. They do a fantastic job helping the standing line only of an entourage of customers. it moves pretty fast. They offer a slew of coffee for your tasting pleasure - lattes' cappuccino blends, light, medium and dark roasts. I enjoy the line of bakery items and made to order sandwiches. The ambiance is a slow and easy day feel with tables and sofa chairs to relax and enjoy a good conversation or just sit and let your thoughts wander. I am a frequent walker to Amore'. read more

Just a sweet little coffee shop. They used to be on Grand Av years ago. I miss them over there. But we where driving by so we popped in for a couple yummy sweet treats and the best Mexican Mocha . Older shops hide the best things right? Well I like to think so especially here. Amore Coffee is locally owned and operated in west St. Paul on a fairly quiet corner. Street parking was quickest although a friend stated there is a lot across the street. Noted for my next visit Incase I'm not feeling brave with my parallel skills. Keto friendly scale is low because they don't carry heavy cream but they do make a Breve and that suited me well. $5.60 gets you a 16oz Breve complete with foam art. The staff was sweet and was caught bringing coffees to those busy using their facility as an office. WiFi connection is great and made studying a breeze. The volume was low so it made focusing easy. Before I knew it, I had spent 4 hours studying. Never once did they seem bothered by my prolonged visit. 4 stars for clean shop and delicious coffee. read more

I get my haircut nearby and I always try to leave extra time beforehand to stop into Amore for a strong black coffee. This is a locally owned neighborhood gem. The aroma when you walk in is a combination of baked goods (they bake everything in house) and strong coffee-- Yummm!! There's a parking lot! This is a great spot to come and study/do work or dip in for a coffee to-go. Ample seating and it's so nice to see the diversity of community members spending time in this special cafe. I take one star away because I don't love the coffee beans that they use-- I find them consistently over roasted. I drink my coffee black so I'm pretty particular on this one. read more

Nice little coffee joint close to WSP and St. Paul. There isn't much that makes them stand out from other private coffee shops. They serve pretty good black coffee, an assortment of espresso drinks, and tea from Tea Source. The seating area is nice and can accommodate a fair number of people. Looking around it seemed like a lot of locals set up shop here. I came in for just a meeting and just had a black drip brew so I didn't have much to go off of. I love Amore Coffee. I'm always made to feel like I'm visiting a good friend with some other good friends around. Beverages are creative and seriously tasty. Food is pretty good, too. I had a baguette plate today that was perfect for my hunger level, their breakfast is hard to beat for a coffee shop. I love the commitment to the community and the service is always wonderful. Love this cozy neighborhood coffee shop! I live in the area so this has become our new local hangout if we need to get some work or study. My husband has been going almost every minute to study there. The atmosphere is cool and cozy. The decor is eclectic. The space is actually a lot bigger than it looks. They have plenty of seating and have a backroom if the space in the front runs out. They have delicious baked goods and other food items. I have only gotten the chai latte and give it two thumbs up. Everyone that works there is super friendly. They feature a rotation of local artists work on the walls. There is a small parking lot across the street if you are having a hard time finding a street spot. Highly recommend if you're in the area! read more

We are no longer patrons of this establishment. The other day my wife waited for over 25 minutes, with 6 people in line after her getting served before her. She simply asked where our coffees were? The owner yelled at her, stating to be more patient. We will not take abuse from a small-time business owner. The good news is we have many excellent coffee shops in our neighborhood. The owner kicked me out for holding my puppy in the cafe and yelled at me about it in front of the whole cafe, after I asked one of employees nicely if I could hold her in the cafe for 2 seconds while I ordered my drink and the employee said "yea of course you can." Probably will never go back. It's funny because almost all of the negative reviews on this place involve the rude owner. I have always been a supporter of the small family-owned business in our neighborhood. Today the owner insulted me to another customer, stating I was impatient because 4 people behind me got served before me. I simply asked why? I am a big fan of Amore Coffee. It is not your "hipster" coffee shop if that is what you are looking for. Instead, it has a much more small town feel to it. I went on a Wednesday morning to get some work done, and it is without a doubt the quietest coffee shop I've tried around Saint Paul. It was not empty but seemed to be filled with retirees. The chairs could use some updating, however. They are basically cheap cafe chairs - which are not the most conducive for hanging out. There are some armchairs that appear to be more comfortable (I did not sit in them). I usually get a black coffee at coffee shops, so I cannot speak to the quality of their other drinks. That said, their coffee is a good value. I received a large coffee for $2.90 and purchased two refills ($1.50 each) in order to get the minimum purchase price required to use a credit card. At a shop like Spy House, $5.90 would not get you two 8oz cups of coffee. At Amore, this got me effectively an entire pot of coffee. I am not sure if they roast their own beans, but the beans that they have make a smooth, quality cup of coffee. Finally, the street parking around does not limit you to one or two hours of parking. Stopped in here yesterday and had an amazing cup of coffee! Super cozy, non pretentious place. There was a friendly gal working the counter who greeted me, and told of the light and dark coffee offerings (always a nice choice). Along with the coffee, I also bought a homemade banana bread muffin with walnuts and chocolate chips which was very tasty! There was a nice assortment of other homemade treats in the glass case also which I was eyeing up before the banana bread beckoned. There's also a lot of cool art work on the walls, and plenty of places to sit. As a medical student, I've been trying out a new coffee shop every week around the Twin Cities to study. Out of all the ones I've tried so far, Amore Coffee is by far the best! 1. Very friendly people working there 2. Wonderful hot chocolate (I'm not a coffee drinker but quite the hot chocolate connoisseur) 3. Good prices for what you get (which is very important) 4. A large coffee shop with a side room with lots of sunlight where people can work/study and a main room where people can chat and hang out. The side room had just the right amount of background noise coming from the main room. It's a great place to study/work and hang out as well! The service here is always spot-on and the food/drink are genuinely delicious and different than what you get at a chain. We usually walk the two or so miles here for our drinks, and it makes for a very nice treat. I absolutely love the chai in all forms. I got a mango smoothie this time, and it was right up there with what I get at Caribou. I'm on the hunt for the best South Minneapolis/Saint Paul coffee shop to work remotely from. Amore Coffee was pretty close to my house, so I decided to give it a try. It's a very eclectic shop, with mismatched tables, chairs and decor, and has a cozy feel. There are a decent amount of chairs and outlets for people coming to study or work on their computers. Wifi has worked GREAT, which doesn't always happen with little coffee shops. The menu didn't blow me away... your typical coffee, tea and saran-wrapped bakery options. They do have more lunch options such as sandwiches, soups and salads--have not tried those yet. I tried the green mandarin iced tea, which was good, and a lemon poppyseed muffin. They require a $5 minimum if you're using a credit card. After paying for my iced tea, a refill in advance, and a muffin, I easily reached the minimum. Overall my experience was good, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I may make my way back to this shop on occasion to work. I originally gave the shop 3-stars, but changed to 4 because the lady at the counter was so nice. read more

I stopped by Amore in a rainy day. I asked the baristas for a suggestion and one recommended a tea drink that had coffee. The name of it escaped me, but it was so good! Perfect for that cold day. Anyway, there are plenty of tables and seating in this cafe. Also available are a variety of board games. The structure of this place is a little weird. Swing left past the counter and you'll find the all gender bathrooms and past that lies a room that people can reserve, for book clubs and get togethers I'm assuming. There's a private lot for Amore right across the street. Besides that, there's street parking. Great place. If it wasn't such a drive from the West metro, I'll be there frequently. read more
