As I am one that needs to get there early for packet pick up, I am there a while. That usually involves at least one bathroom trip. As there is only one bathroom open for each the women and men, the women's bathroom line is long. Maybe, if this is a possibility, could both the men and women's bathrooms be open for women to keep the lines short. Then a few (5-10) portable bathrooms be set up for the men. I've attended multiple different types of events from Lightning games to Sabrina Carpenter in concert, and I've never been disappointed with the ease of entry! The queue is always fast moving while still maintaining proper security measures. My only complaint is the ease of access for parking, which is generally expensive and more limited than other nearby venues. However this is not a complete surprise for a downtown, waterfront venue and typically solved with planning ahead. My first hockey game! Enjoyed the buffet and open bar in the Biergarten, and grabbing a post-game photo in the rink with the St. Pete Young Professionals. The bartenders/staff were all very welcoming and it was an exciting game in a packed stadium. If you're afraid of heights like me the nosebleed seats are a little high but tolerable! Also appreciated the free scarves, the start of my Lightning merch :) While $20+ to park anywhere within walking distance is not uncommon for stadiums, still definitely hurts if you're paying $100+ for tickets already. read more

Came here to see Ghost! The facility quality and layout were excellent: 5-stars. The entrance process was a disorganized mess. Are we in the right line? Who knows! We waited in a "shorter" line that turned out to be merch line. I think we could've waited in a shorter line to access The Pit but...who knows, there was no signage and no employees directing flow. We arrived 45 minutes early and barely made it to the floor in time. Arrive way way earlier than you think you have to, if you're seeing a show here. read more

Came for the Santana and Counting Crows concert on Father's Day. Staying at a nearby Marriott. We walked over, easy & safe access. Great view from our seats. Acoustics and lighting were excellent! What a great show! But in a surprise, we were seated where the hockey bench & penalty box are typically located. Our seats were narrower folding chairs with tiny arms & no cupholders. Across the aisle were real seats with wide arms and cupholders. Pick carefully! The other oddity is that most of the concessions were closed. Only Outback Steak and the brewery were open. Only one merchandise stand - 1/2 hour line! So dial back arena expectations and focus on the performance! read more

This review is for a comedy show, not a hockey game. I know, most people come here for hockey, but there is also performances here as well. We came here to watch Jim Gaffigan and our night couldn't have been smoother. They have security down to a science. It took us probably less than five minutes to get through security and scan our tickets to walk in. Then there are people standing all around to help you find your seats. The restrooms had a long line, but we had floor seats and it turns out there's restrooms on the floor level! Those restrooms were pretty empty. It was right next to the Ashley Furniture VIP section, which also sold drinks. The drink line was just as long as the line upstairs though so that wouldn't have saved us any time. Then when it was time to leave it was really fast getting out. I think this is a great place to watch a comedy show and I hope they continue to have them here. read more

Amalie and their partnership with Ticketmaster was quite the disappointment for this experience. Hubs purchased me a VIP package for my fav Christian Pop artist, Lauren Daigle. I was SUPER SUPER excited!! We had a Q&A with her as well as 2nd row seats and a backstage tour. Description of the package was quite different than the experience itself. Never go for the backstage tour stuff. It's literally just a walk around the back of the stage area. You don't see anything special and there was go guide as the description stated. Parking was also a disaster! The package came with prepaid parking with the email stating the garage and that a list with names would be at the garage and they'd mark our name when arriving. Get there and the attendant said she didn't have a list and that they only accept cash or card for $30 to park. WTHeck! When we arrived at the ticket area for the experience we discussed with an Amalie customer support agent who took hubs email and said she'd discuss with some other staff member and email us for the parking refund. The email hubs got later on that evening was the QR code for parking. WTHeck!! lol we already parked and now paid double. We specifically asked for a refund for 1 of the parking since no QR code was received prior to the concert resulting in us needing to pay again to park the car. Absolutely annoying that obviously she didn't HEAR us and what the actual ask was. Regardless I loved this concert and appreciate hubs getting me this as a gift! We just know better for next time. read more

This is a gorgeous venue. I wish we had something like this back in Tallahassee. That said, we popped up at Amalie Arena for a Tampa Bay Lightning hockey game. We had splurged for tickets and it was worth every penny. Unfortunately for us, the team lost that day, but that didn't dampen our spirits regarding the arena. The arena was walking distance from our hotel (we had planned it that way) and it was amazing to see how many things they had nearby, including a wharf full of restaurants. If you miss this though, they have plenty of food options at the arena. No idea about the prices, but the options are at least there. The arena is pristine, or at the very least the female bathrooms were. The look overall of the place is shiny and quite modern. I wonder when this was built and/or renovated. That said, I do wonder how coming for parking is and that's likely why I'm withholding one star. To be continued as I'm sure we'll travel south again to see a hockey game in this arena. I've been visiting Amalie for several hockey games per year, even during the pandemic at limited capacity. I've sat a few rows behind the glass, in a private suite, Chase club (now Channel Club), club level and terrace level, and I always leave satisfied! Since my first review, Thunder Alley added amenities: Cigar City and a patio bar, patio seating and portable restrooms. Inside, food and drink stands are popping up throughout making it easier to grab beer or cider before puck drop. Some restaurants change out after a couple of seasons. Loli's is the best Gluten-Free option currently. Budweiser Biergarten offers a fun outdoor space for the Terrace level to enjoy. Plenty of tables along the balcony for views of downtown Tampa at sunset. TB Sports stores throughout. The team store on level one offers biggest selection of all things Lightning. Plenty of garages and lots nearby but: UBER / LYFT have a designated drop off and pickup spot just steps from the main entrance! No need to drive home drunk. read more

A friend and I came to here to see a Doja Cat concert and Gosh I wish the screens here were bigger. We didn't even have bad seats and it was still pretty challenging to see well. I wish the stage had been set up in the middle of the stadium instead of on the far end. The alcoholic drink machines were down and we were not told until we had already waited in line and been ID-ed with everyone else. The set up of the ramps to get to your seats is also a bit confusing so I had a hard time finding my seat when I went to the bathroom and returned. Our drinks were not the best either and obviously at a high cost. Overall underwhelmed with the stadium and it's offerings. read more

Definitely a great experience. We had a chance to come and see a comedian and it was fantastic. The arena is beautiful and it's so nice and clean. I highly recommend trying out the suite. It's great sitting in that area and having your own private area with your friends. The chairs are so comfortable and you were able to grab it as well. You can also grab some drinks and you have nearby bath. I highly recommend this experience and it was something I will never forget. read more

Laughter is good for the soul, and it proved right at We the Ones Comedy Tour. The lineup was superb and even included a mini concert with Lil Duval and Tampa's own Tom G. My only complaint was that smoking was allowed and marijuana no less. I'm not sure if anything changed, but this was a first of the many concerts/events I've attended at the arena. A good hockey game is just what I needed as it's been a cold minute since I've gotten to go to one and this was just perfect! So this was my first time at this arena and I must say it was definitely a fun experience as they had it going on with everything from the cool lighting effects when they would score to the awesome jumbo tron in the middle showing you anything you might have missed! They had a good selection of food and drinks as well as just a fun arena in general! As for parking I parked a few blocks away and it definitely was on the pricey side but then again places always hike it up at games so what do you expect had I gotten here earlier I totally would have found the right spot, something to do for next time! Overall this was an awesome night the only thing that could have been better is if my Anaheim Ducks would have won either way good game and just a fun time I'll be looking forward to coming back for the next event either if it's hockey or something else I'm sure it will be just as fun! Probably one of.my favorite sports arenas or entertainment venues in Florida. Parking is relatively easy in the garage next door though it has gotten expensive. Entry into the arena is easy with a set of stairs that go up to general entry and BIP entry downstairs. I'm not sure about the disabled access and how that works though. The arena depending on what event is happening is setup with seating in different configuratiins. There are assorted gift shops and multiple eateries. Being in Florida, I do like this venue being air conditioned specifically for Lightning games it's nice and cold. And with the enclosed arena it's nice and loud. Have always had a good experience with the employees and venues and couldn't really complain other than prices being much higher than they used to be. Definitely a fun place to go if there is a concert or other event on site. Ad a plus, you're right by Channelside, David Islands, and downtown Tampa so you can hit up restaurants and shops if you want. read more

When I first moved to Tampa, this was called the Ice Palace. It then changed in the 2000's to "St Pete Times Forum" then "Tampa Bay Times Forum" IIRC, it has the current moniker of Amalie Arena due to the oil company. It's capacity varies depending on the event/sport but it is roughly 20,000. I have only come here once in 2008. AC/DC was having their "Black Ice" Tour and they stopped in Tampa. I was in the nosebleed section and didnt think much at the time. Tonight, I attended the "Spirits on Fire Tour" consisting of Smashing Pumpkins with Jane's Addiction and Poppy. 14 years was good for the venue! The entrance is not a chore to climb. The security check was quick and painless. The ticket check in was quick (You need a smartphone for concert events. I'm unsure how Lightning tickets work) There are multiple bathrooms which are clearly marked. The ones I went to were immaculate (Other places-take heed!) There are multiple food stations such as Holy Hog BBQ, and simple beer/soda places. As you might guess, they're pretty expensive , comparable to theme park prices. I didn't partake because I was worried my seat would be taken. Another great thing is the ushers are actually helpful. The seat rows were marked in chalk and the individual seats on the floor sections didn't have numbers. I asked a few about my seat and many were friendly AND helpful. Kudos! Negatives: The seats are packed pretty tightly together and aren't marked on the floor section. It's not the fault of the Amalie staff, but some people are recording or taking pictures during the whole performance and it puts a damper on the experience. I admit I took some pictures here and there , but not for the entire show! Be prepared to see lots of arms blocking you. Parking is available in the Iorio garage. I was informed of this when I bought my ticket, but it was $23. If you're cheap and don't mind walking 25 min, I would recommend parking at the POE garage on Ashley. $10.35 for 12 hours and its covered and well lit. I would consider coming here in the future for a concert again! read more

I love the Amalie Arena: we have been here many times for various concerts. While holding over 10,000 people you still feel like you are in a cozy venue. We have our favorite section which is 112 row n if you get the right area on this row you have an unobstructed view of the stage. I have a bad back and can't stay standing for the entire concert anymore so I appreciate the view while seated. The Amalie staff have always treated me well and are quick to help us if we have any questions. We will certainly be back and have had some great memories in this venue. read more

I don't get to come here nearly as often as I'd like (go Lightning!) but every time I do, I love it. Cup holders at every seat, so many clean bathrooms and the ushers are always so friendly. Add convenient parking in the Pam Iorio garage (which you can pay for ahead of time via Park Whiz) and yeah-why don't I get here more often?! I've seen concerts here-the circus-hockey games... and in August 2022, we saw gymnastics here. The National Championships were held here and we came for both the women's sessions. (one on a Friday night and the finals on Sunday) Not many of the concession stands/carts were open on Friday but Sunday was hopping. Prices are what you'd expect but the lines moves quickly and the quality was good. So yeah, I've gotta come back and do a full evening-drinks or dinner before-take in some of the activities they sometimes set up outside before events... get into the whole vibe all my Lightning friends bask in every time they're here. We enjoyed the game not only because the Lighting won but also because the Club Level is where it is at. Plenty of great food options and the bartenders, security, and culinary staff were super professional. @TampaBaylighting you would be best to look at the one employee at the second floor gift shop with shoulder length dyed red hair and glasses. Her customer service interactions were absolutely horrible. She was rude to everyone including her younger coworkers who seemed afraid of her. When I asked if I could get a player specific jersey she rudely directed me the store at section 129. When I got my other items she seemed bothered when I asked for a bag. She treated the rest of my party the same way and even stopped checking people out to check her phone where she then made several disbelieving remarks the sender of the messages she was reading. I went down to section 129 to find the proshop and once their I asked about player specific jerseys for men and women and was told that I had to go to a different location to get them pressed on. This is horrible as every other pro shop I have visited around the world all have jersey for their fans to get right then and there. For this reason I'm knocking the rating down to a 3 due to the poor customer service experience with the retail aspect. read more

I visited Amalie Arena several times over the last few months thanks to a friend with a suite hook up! I've been to several Tampa Bay Lightening Games and have seen the Transiberian orchestra. Amalia Arena is such a a great venue for seeing hockey or concerts. Parking is a bit of a pain but once you are at the stadium getting around is pretty easy. The food and drink selection are good but prices are high as to be expected at a stadium. For example, I paid about $17 for a few chicken fingers and fries at PDQ. No drink included, but that's stadium pricing. I highly recommend a hockey game or concert if hockey is not your thing. If you want to splurge, try ticketing in the Chase club that include all you can eat and drink. The food is fantastic! read more

The remodel is fantastic! I have been to this arena for hockey games and concerts over the last 15-20 years. I've even worked events here for a previous employer. The nosebleed seats are steep and narrow- this past weekend was a first time for sitting up that high and I was a little nervous honestly. We were there for an Eric Clapton concert and a lot of the crowd had started drinking well before the concert and just that thought mixed with where we were sitting scared me! Security is on top of their game- drunk and disorderly was handled promptly. My party witnessed a guy who couldn't make it through the entry gate he was so drunk. He was turned away- yikes! But kudos for the staff for handling it. Tip- get your drinks from Cigar City brewery before heading in because they are more expensive inside the arena. Be responsible though ;) Parking for handicap is a bear- fyi. Staff is courteous and helpful. read more

In town from Los Angeles the week before New Year's. Came to the Amalie Arena for the WWE Friday Night Smackdown wrestling show. Felt like I was at home with the huge crowds lol. Lines were long but we were able to get in for VIP area. No food available in the VIP Lounge but it was great to have a quick walk up experience for beer and be offered couch seating before and during the show. Huge, clean, open bathrooms with plenty of stalls. Extremely friendly service. 10/10 would recommend! read more
