It's such a treat to be able to experience Broadway locally! I celebrated Galentine's by seeing &Juliet with a group of 10. Patrick from group ticket sales was incredibly helpful in facilitating the ticket purchases. Everyone had an amazing time. Our seats were great and the spacing means heads in front of you don't block too much, even if you are short. I can't wait to come back!

Amazing as always! The area around the theater was under some construction but didn't impede on the experience! Super friendly and helpful staff with a beautiful theater and some good snacks to choose before watching the show. Tons of concession stands to make lines go by fast and clean bathrooms with an attendant to keep the lines going quick.

Great experience at the Straz! They do things right from beginning to end. When you arrive, you have to pass through metal detectors, and all handbags are checked. After your pass is scanned, there seem to always be eager ushers willing to help and guide you for any of your needs. There are mobile bars both outside the venue (prior to ticket scanning), as well as inside the lobby. They have all main liquor types, an eclectic assortment of beers in addition to non-alcoholic beverages. Note: next to the lobby bar has a candy station with a variety of options, including Sour Patch watermelons. If you are on the 2nd or 3rd floors there is an elevator (decently sized) to the right, next to a staircase. The staircase is wide and the angle of the steps is very subtle, so it is easy on the lower-body joints. There are truly is no bad seat in the house, however, some people find the seats to be too upright, especially on the 3rd balcony level. Overall a great experience from arrival to departure, for all ages. Enjoy the Show!

We attended a small comedy show in the smaller auditorium and love the layout of the theater. Beautiful and well kept. Will be returning soon!

Came here for the Holidaze show. I haven't been here in years! They have valet parking but seems to be a different price for different cars? No clue because it was $25 for us but my friend paid $35 and the person behind her was charged $25. Very confused. Also we were disabled parking but still charged and not given the option to park ourselves in the designated disabled spaces. I didn't think this was legal to charge for disabled given even the city of Tampa doesn't charge for disabled parked cars at a meter. The show was good and the staff helpful in finding seats and handing out programs. They do have some eatery options available onsite. They also have concessions where you can get popcorn and candy and drinks.

First time Straz-attendee here! My neighbor (a former ballet dancer himself) and me went to a production of The Nutcracker. Because I'm a little more on the technologically challenged side, and I like old-school tickets that I can hold in my hand, I had ordered my tickets to pick up at the window. We arrived via Lyft for a smooth trip, and went straight to the will-call window, and I was a little surprised how easy and organized it was to find my way around considering that I have never been here before. This is a great and beautiful venue that boasts its own coffee shop (a little on the pricey side, but the food was actually decent and it was worth the visit if you don't want to stray far for food) and a restaurant (which we didn't go to). The inside is very lovely, clean, and elegant, and I can't help but feel a little sophisticated walking right in. Our section was very easy to find and there were plenty of attendants willing to help and assist us when getting to our seats. I very first-class experience indeed watching the show, and I wouldn't mind coming back to see another performance. Worthy of an encore.

Great venue. There are no bad seats here. Friendly staff. They get some great shows coming here especially with their Broadway series. I was here recently to see MJ about Michael Jackson's life. There's a couple parking garages close as well as valet parking.

Nice, small theater for the performing arts. Centrally located and easy to find in Tampa. There's a parking garage that is right across the street. They also have valet parking on site on a first come first serve basis. Theater was kept very clean. There were ample bathrooms and the seats were comfortable. They have balcony seating as well as floor level seating. Definitely a great place to be close to the performers. We went here to a Drag Queen Christmas and it was a great show. They also have a nice food selection and multi bars to get cocktails.

    Are jeans permitted?

I don't know if jeans are prohibited, but I would certainly say, it's inappropriate, let's say, for a production or symphony. For a rock concert, jeans may be appropriate.

I'm saddened at this time hearing that one of the stunt artists who had been with the group for 15 years has passed away due to his hand slipping on the rings. That is so unfortunate. We drove in to the lot and there were so many cones and far too many people with lights to move traffic. Cash is preferred but they do have the option to take a card using a smart phone plugin of some sort. Plan ahead and give yourself at least 30 minutes to park and then walk to the tent; only VIPs get to park nearby. The general seating is tight. You definitely don't have any personal space. BUT for those of you worried about it, concierge was offering seat upgrades for very minimal costs. We were able to upgrade to premium seating, with much more padding, arm rests, a cup holder, and probably a couple extra inches of space, for only $20 more per person. They offer concessions and accept credit cards or cash. The concessions are ridiculously overpriced but they do have a couple combos to save you money. Please be respectful of the rules: no flash photography; not only is it dangerous to distract the performers but it's also annoying to patrons watching the show. Don't be rude.

The building is absolutely beautiful and has almost 100 years of history. You can feel it the second you walk inside. Every room has a presence to it. The atmosphere is unlike anything else. You're never really by yourself...;) The concessions are great, the staff is always friendly, and I love that they haven't tried to modernize away all the character. The little noises, the old floors, the way the building seems to settle around you during the movie just reminds you this place has seen generations of people come and go. I definitely will be back. A Cinematic Masterpiece Before the Movie Even Begins…read more If you are looking for an unforgettable night out, the historic Tampa Theatre is an absolute must-visit. Calling it just a "movie theater" feels like a massive understatement - it is a breathtaking time capsule and a true architectural marvel that elevates the simple act of watching a film into a grand event. From the moment you step through the doors, you are transported into a spectacular, 1920s Mediterranean courtyard. The attention to detail inside the auditorium is stunning, offering an experience that modern multiplexes simply cannot replicate. Here is what makes it so incredibly special: * The Atmospheric Ceiling: You sit under a remarkably realistic night sky, complete with 99 twinkling stars and gently drifting clouds, making you feel like you are outdoors on a perfect evening. * The Architecture: The eclectic, opulent blend of Moorish, Spanish, and Byzantine details - surrounded by gargoyles, statues, and ornate balconies - gives the space a magical, almost surreal charm. * The Mighty Wurlitzer: Arriving early is a requirement! Hearing the historic theatre organ played live before the screenings perfectly captures the golden age of cinema. The programming is just as thoughtfully curated as the decor. Whether you are catching a brilliant independent film, a beloved cult classic, a documentary, or a live event, the venue makes every single screening feel momentous. Grab some popcorn, take in the gorgeous scenery, and enjoy the show. The Tampa Theatre is a meticulously preserved local treasure and truly one of the greatest places to spend an evening!
