I was referred to Amplified, specifically referred to Maddy, by a friend after I complemented her beautiful hair. I was reluctant to have another new stylist work with my very copper/red toned hair because of past experiences. I've been to high dollar/top rated salons and stylists who specialized in color and color correction. I've left those same salons/stylists crying with deep disappointment over their work and the state of my hair when they were "done". When I went to see Maddy, we had a consultation where she sat and talked with me about my past experiences. Booked an appointment over Yelp. Response time was fast and easy. Was matched with someone that met my expectations. She answered all My questions and was super friendly. The place was so clean. It was a bit hard to find as it is on the back end of the strip, but tons of close parking. One down fall was there was no one there to greet you. I sat for a few minutes before being asked any questions (even though I had been glanced at by at least one hair dresser that was on the floor). Will return for sure. I am new to the Rocklin area and realized that after I got the kids back to school, my own self needed to get refreshed. After having a partial foil every 10 weeks or so for the last 12 years with the same stylist, I was worried about finishing someone I liked. Thankfully, Maria at Amplified as able to fit me in right away due to a cancellation and I headed over. The salon is very clean and friendly. She is very experienced and I felt calm with her confidence. She did a partial foil and toner on my hair with lovely smelling products. I should have asked for a price range first, but that is on me. This ran about $90 more than I am used to paying, but again, that was a different stylist in Redding. This cost me $185 before tip. Please do not come if you have curly hair :( Just would like to preface that I have came here to get my haircut 3 times within the last 10 months and 2/3 times have enjoyed the service and outcome and have even gone so far as to recommend salon to people in the area, but this most recent time I was extremely disappointed. a thing to note is i have relativity bouncy 3a curls (meaning they dry much shorter than when wet) and was hoping for a shoulder length rounded curly cut. I don't think that this salon has much knowledge in curly hair as shrinkage was not taken into account. My hair was cut and blown out and when blown out my hair was mid neck length and could not reach my shoulder let alone even go up into a ponytail. once my hair was wet at home I was left with the unpleasant surprise of having a chin length bob and micro bangs once my natural texture came out. Extremely disappointing considering I wanted shoulder length and my stylist even acknowledged that curly hair should could be cut longer to account for the shrinkage as well as the fact that I left the salon with 6 less inches of hair than I came in with.
