She generally cuts kids hair but also cuts my adult wavy hair into a "curly cut" that makes my waves somehow much more full for my fine hair. Currently I'm really liking the Leaf & Flower volume for my fine wavy hair. When I bring in my 11 y/o boys for a haircut, my 9 y/o daughter comes too. If it's not time for her to get a haircut, sometimes Carola will do a cute braid with sparkle tencel in it. Carola has always been professional, kind, caring, & gentle. I've watched her over the years cut many kids hair. I've been most impressed by her cutting the kids hair that either have special needs or are noise adverse to the clippers used on the boys. I got lucky and was able to get a next day appt with Ginny. Each stylist is usually booked two to three weeks out. This was my first experience with Backstreet and Ginny was great. She was super easy to talk to and has a very gentle touch. Not once did I cringe because a few hairs were being pulled. She did exactly what I asked and did it well. From start to finish I was out of there in less than 45 minutes, cut and style. I'm super particular about my hair. I like it long and layered with a deep v in the back. Ginny definitely achieved that look without getting scissor happy like a lot of stylists do. She was ready for me on my appt time, no waiting at all. I really appreciated that. I am one of Teagan's loyal fans. He helped me sculpt my hair from a botched hair cut (that strongly resembled a mullet) to a wonderful, sexy layered look. Another versatile cut from Teagan. He's a goddamn baller! I wasn't sure what I wanted as far as a cut but I wanted something that would be OK with the corporate world but would also be refreshing enough for all the running miles I log. What Teagan gave me was a cut for work; I call it the mafioso look. From this cut I was also able to sculpt my latest old school look. I call it the James Dean. And if I want to further transfer my look some more I can slap some paste in my hair and give myself a faux hawk for that euro trash look. The appointment making process was very easy, they answer the phone promptly and calls you back if they say so unlike the other three salons I tried making an appointment with previously. So they lost their business, but I'm glad they didn't because Steffany did an amazing job with my blotchy highlighted hair that I desperately needed help with. She was fast, efficient and knew what she was doing. I have never been so happy with my hair color! I would come to her with the most off the wall ideas and that women would make it happen and my hair always looked amazing. I had previously went to another salon for a color and cut and was underwhelmed. The highlights were so subtle, my hubby didn't even notice I had anything done. It did not look like the pix I showed the stylist. Some of my grays were still there. I waited a month and decided to try Backstreet Salon. I had an appointment with Destiny. She listened and offered some feedback about the look I wanted. In all I found her to be very nice, and professional. In the end, she achieved the look I wanted. Barbara was great! I got a Brazilian blowout and she did a great job. She was flexible with my schedule and had reasonably fair price. She even trimmed my split ends. In regards to the blowout, it works perfect. I used to keep my hair in a bun all the time unless it was straightened, but now I can let it down without doing anything to it. It doesn't give you straight flat ironed hair, but it's more manageable. So if you have frizzy, all over hair I recommend it. Thanks again for being awesome! read more
