I really chose to wait to write this review. Gianna mixed the dyes too dark after my bleach. We discussed going back natural which she claimed to be able to do. (She did not.) she bleached my hair (was ALMOST there) but she didn't want to own up to it when I told her the color was too dark and not what we agreed on. I was too polite when I left. she tried to backtrack by saying I could do a bleach wash in a few weeks but when I ask for a service/color (and you tell me you can do it) it should be that when I pay $300 at the salon, and not in two weeks when I finish the service myself. Or simply just tell me that you cannot do it. Or that it won't be done in one service. We never discussed doing multiple lightening sessions or anything. I reached out to her and the owner afterwards and they did not resolve the issue. Very dismissive. Shouldn't come in the salon as a level 3/4 with inches of roots, have bleached my hair just for it to end up a level 3/4 when I leave. When we spoke about a level 6-7 lift. I could've gone to Sally's and retouched my roots myself, but that's not what I was asking for. I asked for a partial refund because paying for a lightening treatment when my hair is not lighter is bs. She offered a bleach wash and tone, which doesn't make sense. Why would I go back a second time when she messed it up the first time? Girl. How would I trust you. The difficult part about this is I normally would've just been upset about how it turned out and left, instead I told her (while I was still as the salon) like "hey I don't wanna sound rude but this is not what we discussed and way too dark." But apparently that got me nowhere. She told me "it'll lighten" Maybe next time I should be rude. ‍ don't go here. Their stylists are independent and the owner will not take responsibility. CUSTOMER BE WARE! This was the first time going to this salon after reading the reviews-boy were they WRONG! When I walked in, no greeting from anyone. I look around, one stylist with their customer, the nail tech on her phone. So I sat down and thought wow, this is probably a mistake. Then after several minutes I heard the other stylist told the gal hiding behind the desk on her phone I was there-turned out to be my appointment Courtney. I was there over 4 hours for highlight and cut, ridiculous. As I sat there, she was not very engaging, talked more to the other stylist, and honestly, I didn't even recognize her from the web page-so I don't even know if this was the same person I booked with. As time went on, the nail tech was on her phone the whole time I was there. Salon chatter is all fun, but the other stylist completely inappropriate in what she was talking about. The atmosphere is poor, needs some maintenance, a good deep dust/clean would be beneficial and updating. Just looks like a hair salon, nail-ish salon, and a garage sale all in one. Once I got home, I took another look at my hair and the color was dull, faded in about 2.5 weeks (I don't see a fade until closer to 5-6 weeks), so I wonder what she did or used on my hair and the cut was choppy and uneven. Sadly another small business that doesn't care about the customer experience and loses a repeat customer and future referrals. Found a more inviting, clean and better salon nearby. read more

I've been getting my hair done exclusively at Lavish for several years now. Kara has always done an AMAZING job despite my constant need to drastic changes. I once went balayage blonde to dark brown with some auburn, then lightened back up to a brown then back to balayage blonde again in a matter of a year . She is great-- and when I need a quick bangs trim one of the other gals get me taken care of if Kara is off. She listened to me and my concerns about my hair (I just needed a trim, but wasn't sure what to do with my bangs growing out) I had previously given myself a DIY "wolf cut" about 8+ months ago, so I was due for something different. My hair was washed, cut straight, then some light layers were added... my hair was then dried and styled. I feel cute in my new do. I think anyone who goes to a new salon is anxious to see what it is about/if you'll like your hair. I had messaged the owner through Yelp awhile ago and she was very responsive and lovely but I did not visit for an appt at that time due to some scheduling issues. However, after a hair incident, I reached out Wednesday 3/1 and the owner replied very quickly via Yelp and got me in Thursday 3/2 with Courtney. Courtney spent 3 hours working absolute MAGIC on my hair. She was lovely to talk to and totally non judgmental for the mess I came in with. My hair feels and looks so much better than what I went in with. I have set up an appointment for two months to continue to my hair goals, but if you're someone who is very anxious about your hair and gave yourself a bad dye job- do not be afraid to come here and have them help you. I am so so so glad I did and so very grateful for Courtney taking so much time fixing me up. It was ~3 hours. $240. Purely amazing, can't wait to continue my blonde journey!! My haircut is uneven and several inches shorter than I asked for. Color was okay, but when I asked why my service was twice the expected price (per their website) the stylist couldn't/wouldn't answer. The receipt wasn't itemized or anything, so I guess it'll remain a mystery. Sent an e-mail to the owner about a week ago with my concerns but I haven't heard back. Nicole does amazing work, and it is such a relief to have found, finally, someone who is really passionate about cutting hair - doing really fun, functional, stylish, low maintenance cuts. I've been growing my hair out, and it's about down to my armpits now - I came to Nicole a couple months ago because it was just feeling heavy and flat but I wanted to keep the elegance of long hair. I'd been to other stylists, whose solution was just to do some face framing, but wasn't natural looking, still felt heavy, and kinda looked like something out of the 90s. I came to Nicole and was like, "I don't really know what my hair needs cuz I don't know enough about hair, but this isn't working." We chatted, she listened, and then she gave me an amazing haircut that kept the length and added lots of layers all around to lighten it and give it more natural movement, so now it's elegant, fun and much easier to manage! I've been looking for a new hair salon and stylist that is closer to my home. I went on yelp and found this one. It was super easy to book online and I was able to be seen on a Sunday- which never happens with salons, it was so convenient. I booked with Tianah, since it was my first time here I didn't really care who I saw, since everyone had great reviews. I did not like my hair at all. After washing, cutting and drying, the stylist CURLED my hair so now I cannot tell whether the length I wanted was achieved. My hair was extremely FRIZZY shortly after and good thing I had hair oil with me in my car. This place is fantastic and while my stylist has been Christina ( the owner) I would trust any one of them with my hair care and color needs. For the record, I have been using Christina for almost 15 years. It saddens me that people feel the need to review a place negatively when they actually haven't experienced getting any kind of hair service done here. If you don't agree with a way a business has chosen to run, it's simple : DON'T GO THERE. You don't need to slander it or it's employees because you have nothing better to do but spout your opinion on a platform that is used to evaluate the services they offer. I went in for a consult and the gal at the front desk was really nice. When booking she was really sweet and when I got there was welcoming. Everyone was wearing masks until the stylist helping me, Nicole F., came out. She didn't wear a mask (in the middle of a pandemic and in an enclosed space with a pregnant coworker!!) and was pretty unprofessional in general. I was only in the chair for about 5 minutes and she was either on the phone or talking to other people in the salon more than she talked to me. She also didn't grasp what I was telling her I wanted, which was to get my hair back to being as close to my natural color as possible, low maintenance. I had lightened tips from pre-covid and during lock down I box dyed my hair, which turned out a little more red than my natural color, and it was starting to be noticeable with my roots growing. She suggested we brighten the ends, which I explicitly said I didn't want to do. I ended up booking the appointment to come back, but after thinking about it I went ahead and cancelled because I felt there were too many red flags during the consult. read more

I got my hair cut here about three weeks ago and I've been vacillating between whether to leave a review or not ever since, but today I happened to catch a look at my hair from the back and noticed another section that was missed and I had to cut myself to even it out, so here we are. Easily the worst haircut experience I've ever had. The Stylist was over an hour late getting me into the chair (she originally called and asked if she could push the appointment back by 30 minutes - about 15 minutes before the appointment - and I said that was fine), and even when I arrived 30 minutes after our initial appointment time she was still with a client and I waited about another 30 for her to get to me. I was the last appointment of the day, I get it that things run long and this wouldn't have been much of an issue if the rest of the experience wasn't terrible. The stylist sat me down and asked how much I wanted to cut. I said "maybe about 14 inches?" My hair was LONG and I hadn't had a cut since pre covid. Stylist walked away to gather some supplies and I pulled my hair in front of me to eyeball where I might want it cut, and when the stylist came back she gathered my hair and immediately snipped off what I guess is "about 14 inches." Without making sure it was where I wanted it, without confirming the length at all. So that was...jarring. She spent a few minutes trimming the ends I guess to make it even (which she didn't, I had to cut some sections myself when I got home because there were chunks longer than the rest). When she sat me down at first I mentioned I wanted layers in my hair and face framing curtain bangs. This stylist did not cut one layer into my hair (and when I realized she wasn't going to I admittedly did not correct her, I didn't want her doing anything else to mess it up at that point) and she made a couple snips to what I guess are supposed to have been curtain bangs. After cutting my bangs she stood directly in front of me and asked if I wanted more cut. In front of me. Blocking the mirror. I physically had to lean around her to look at it to even see what she was talking about. Honestly all said and done it was three snips and some ends trimming. When she eventually sat me down to wash my hair I was treated to freezing water and then steaming hot water and by the time I walked out she hadn't even fully dried my hair. What a nightmare. I will never pick a salon on a whim again, lesson learned. So glad I got to pay $60 for a haircut I'm now going to have to find another stylist to fix. read more

Lavish Studio is one of those places that you visit and the results are not always consistent. The first time I went I had my hair done by Christina who mentioned has been doing hair for many years . She also had an assistant who was new to the business , but guided her through the process , which made me feel relieved . I was very happy with the results and had been referring friends and family to go there for all their hair needs . I went back the second time and I had a completely different experience. I asked for " platinum blond partial highlights " , and when she was all done I questioned where my highlights were and why my hair looked brassy . Her response was that " my hair was already like that when I came in . And I told her yes that's exactly why I came in so I wouldn't leave with my brassy ugly hair!!! I asked her for layers and for her to shape the front , but she only trimmed my hair . Then I asked her a second time if she could add layers . I got a couple of layers in there . The hair cut was ok , not anything special . I could have got that at Supercuts . I paid and walked out sad because when you pay $166 for a cut and partial highlight , but don't get highlights to show for it you feel like you got ripped off for your money. Also , I was very disappointed on how she handled the situation. I would have respected her more if she accepted the fact that she couldn't do highlights and just told me that from the beginning . She tried to say it was my fault for having color and that my natural hair is dark so there for I can't get any nightlights . I've had them don't so many times in the past I find it hard to believe. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone now . Way too overpriced for being one of those places where you just don't know what your going to get . Christina is good , but she did mention if you want your hair done by her she is more expensive than the other girls . I am so happy that I was able to get an appointment with Jessie on Mother's Day! I was way past due for a touch up on my 'fashion color' in my hair and basically needed a complete redo for the blue and purple. Jessie talked to me about the look I wanted to achieve and why I wanted the fashion colors, not that I needed a reason but it helped her to figure out my end goal. She's a sweetie and we had nice conversation throughout the appointment. She showed me a really pretty pink that she felt would compliment the blue and purple, so I went ahead with it for a few small sections. Blue and purple are my favorite colors and also the branding colors for my blog and business so it definitely makes for a fun signature hair color. I am a wheelchair user and do suffer from constant pain, but Jessie made sure that I was comfortable. I am over-the-top thrilled with how my hair turned out! I found Lavish here on Yelp and after seeing a review and photo of blue and purple hair that Jessie did, I knew I wanted to give her a try. Jaylene did an absolute amazing job on my hair! She seemed very knowledgeable, she gave her opinion without pushing it on me, nor did she pressure me to do something I didn't want. I say all this because it was the first time I had dyed my entire head of hair so I as a little nervous, but she made me feel comfortable and confident in the chair. Before, my hair was blonde, bleached, and just not what I wanted anymore. I told her that I wanted something darker than dark brown but not black and she worked her magic and made it happen!
