When I saw Master Stylist on her business card, I had to check Kimberly out because I'm super picky about my hair. I'm crazy excited to say Kimberly totally had me when she asked "what do we want to create today?" I thought wow this is awesome. Kim is THE BEST hair colorist and stylist around, hands down. When I wanted to chop all my hair off, she obliged and my made my hair look absolutely fantastic. When I wanted highlights, she knew how I wanted them and where I wanted them. She takes her time, and she doesn't rush anything. She's very engaging and humorous - you won't be sitting awkwardly in your chair. Talent and personality are the two most important things for me when it comes to a hair stylist, and Kim has that and so much more. A few months back, I dyed my own hair completely blonde (I was a brunette before). It was fun, but a few months later I wanted to go back to brown. Kim understood my hair and how it would react with certain dyes and glazes, so she took her time and dyed my hair with a Demi glaze, knowing it would fade, but also knowing it would take new color much better. That sort of knowledge is not something everyone just has. When I went back in today for the final dye, Kim knew what my hair needed, but also asked for my preferences. This review is coming from a college student. Now if you are or have been a college student, you know that its risky getting your haircut. You are definately on a budget, so it's a one time shot. I went to Kim yesterday in desperate need of some layers for my thick hair and a trim because it had been seven months since last I got it cut. What made this experience so unique was that it was very much a collaberation. I told her what I wanted, but then asked her what her professional opinion was because my hair is so thick. What resulted was a beautiful, barely past the shoulders, side swept bangs look that is Disney Princess worthy. I can say in all honesty that it is one of, if not the prettiest haircut Ive ever had. I am so grateful! There isnt one thing about my hair I would change, which is rare when geting my hair done. As she was cutting she would ask me how I liked the lengths of the layers, which I really appreciated. Also, Kim is incredibly sweet and easy to talk to.
