Hi if anyone is looking for a place to go to for a massage don't go to Armrita Beauty & Wellness I went here to this place to try it out I read really good reviews on Yelp here and the service I had done wasn't that good. The massage therapist I saw here I couldn't understand anything what she said to me she has an accent that is hard to understand her. I only wanted to get a massage there but the therapist asked me if I wanted to add other services like hot stones and whatever else to my massage I got. It all added up in the end and it was really expensive for everything I got done there and on top of that they didn't take but cash and credit card no checks. The massage therapist was really pushy there kept asking me to make another appointment with them and I told them No. It was a not a good experience I had there will never go back to that place again now I know. Let me start by saying I am a master esthetician so I knew everything that was going on and wasn't going on that should have been. First off the massage therapist was twenty minutes late to my scheduled appointment at 10. Had a double service booked with my mom. Waited for twenty minutes. Massage was fine. Having a prenatal massage first the lady clearly knew I was pregnant. I am 5 1/2 months pregnant fyi. Then I didn't realize she was also the esthetician. I had a conversation with her in the massage that I was an esthetician. She starts doing the facial, it's fine. I haven't practiced since 2016. But I remember the basics. She used this machine on me that feels and sounds like electricity hitting the face it's supposed to help with bacteria, etc. it was a high frequency wand. I was second guessing that is what it was. Again my eyes were shut and I was just trying to relax. I should not have keep Tabs on what can be used and what can't. So I reassured myself. Also mind you I didn't fill out a single intake form about my Health any contraindications or things that may change the course of treatment. Or what my skin concerns were. First red flag. Anyways I had the treatment and left and went home and kept thinking about it finally did some quick research and confirmed that the machine should have not been used. It should not be used on pregnant women. this is. HUGE mistake. I will be reporting to the board. And I truly hope that this did not harm my baby. I had to put this out there to make sure that you advocate for yourself and question everything that is being used especially if you're pregnant. I will never go back here and truly hope they get some better trained estheticians also taking the intake process seriously. I do not recommend. My extensions were ripped out of my hair in chunks and not fully dried before they were flat ironed into curls, with many strands being left out straight. There was also shampoo residue left on my actual hair. I had a flight to catch and ended up having to wash my hair and style it at the hotel, using bobby pins to pin the extensions in place. It may had just been a bad day for the business, but I was unsatisfied. read more

I would highly recommend this place. I stopped in on a short trip to Williamsburg and Richmond and was not disappointed! I was impressed with the flexibility of the therapists because I had to move my appointment, given the amount of traffic I hit on my way to Williamsburg. They were very hospitable and extremely friendly. I had originally scheduled a 60-minute Swedish massage and a 30-minute facial, but I ended up adding on an eyebrow wax and eye treatment, and neither were charged. I started off with the facial (my first one!), which included a steam portion as well as aromatherapy (rose scent for the holidays). The aesthetician, Marcia, also massaged my neck and shoulders and upper back (my problem areas) while waiting for the steam to work its magic. The massage was wonderful. I have a lot of pain and tension in my upper back, neck, and shoulders, and Laura really worked at those knots. She also helped relieve tension in my calves (I'm a runner). I was thoroughly impressed at her technique. She used hot towels on my back, which I've never experienced before during a massage (a big plus and great way to end the massage), and I did walk out feeling lighter, though I have so many knots that I'd need to keep coming back frequently! This was my first waxing ever I got a full Brazilian my legs and under arms.Tanja was awesome everything went well and most of it didnt hurt! the ankles were the worst surprisingly. I already made my appointment for next time. She uses a combo of hard and soft wax. I grew my hair for 22 days and she said it was perfect length for a first wax. Best and least painful wax I've had! Tanja is wonderful, calming, and incredibly knowledgeable about hair growth, products, etc. She uses a European wax that hardens to pull the hair, not skin (which is usually the source of pain from traditional waxing). It is my first time in this massage place and had a 90 minute massage with Adelina. She's excellent and was able to release my stubborn knots. She let me experience cupping and hot stone to help treat me and I think that is a plus. It could be a marketing strategy to try other services next time I visit or that she is just nice. I could not be happier with the two Brazilian waxes Tanja has done for me. She has the professional knowledge to recommend when a person should come back based on hair growth cycles, and is able to wax in the least painful way possible. Obviously there is some pain in the process, but she works quickly and is mindful of what she can control to reduce discomfort including wax heat and doing smaller portions at a time. What makes Tanja an above-and-beyond professional is her ability to work efficiently while maintaining conversation to put the customer at ease. I really got the sense that she cares about her customers and wants them to have the best experience possible. She did not ask me to refer any of my friends to her, nor did she ask me to write this review. That said, I will be sending friends and family her way knowing they'll be treated right. I was SOOOOOO nervous about this!! I have always wanted to do a full Brazilian, but my pain threshold isn't super high. I did a ton of research about waxing in general and then chose Tanja because of the online reviews regarding her professionalism and possibility of less pain. ;) Well, she didn't disappoint. What I have just done as a probable, "just this one time for this one special occasion" thing is likely now going to be a "see you soon, Tanja!" thing. She's fantastic, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I'm going on 24 hours since I've done this, and I'm still just as happy as when I left. No issues whatsoever. Her studio is clean, organized, calm, and inviting. She is just as nice as can be and her relaxed nature makes it easy to...relax. I enjoyed talking to her, truly. The wax itself was both a strip wax and then hard wax depending on the area. I prepared myself for a lot of pain, based on TONS of online reviews. And, it DOES sting, a lot, but for about 5 seconds. That's it. By the time the second strip is pulled, there's no pain from the first one. The whole process was professional and I left there feeling great. (After a wax, ya'll! See what I'm saying??) As promised, the area was a little sore and bumpy last night a few hours later, but it was most like a razor burn feeling. I didn't have need for a painkiller or topical helper. This morning the soreness is totally gone and the bumpiness almost is. Based on reviews and her advice, sweating, working out, adult playtime, and soap are supposed to be skipped for 24-48 hours. I'm confident that tomorrow will bring the finished and lovely red-less results! Oh, and in the interest of full disclosure, I took the advice of popping a couple of 200mg ibuprofen before my appointment. I would recommend that! Loved this place, loved Tanja, LOVE the results! Go do it! If this GIANT wimp can go in shaking like a leaf and leave there happy and silky smooth, you can too! You'll be so glad you did!!!! read more
