Olde Dutch Restaurant in Logan -- so many people hyped this place up that we had to check it out…read more It's buffet style with all-you-can-eat salad bar, soups, hot dishes, and pies. Drinks are extra, and there's also a small $1-2 supplemental fee added on, which felt a little odd since it could probably just be included in the buffet price. The food itself is very classic home-style comfort food with lots of options. Nothing super fancy or out of the ordinary, but everything tasted fresh and the buffet was constantly being refilled every few minutes. We also got the iced sweet teas, which seemed to be really popular since almost every table had one. One unique thing -- the entrance and exit are through the gift shop, and you also pay there at the end of your meal, which definitely adds to the old-school country restaurant experience. Our waitress was attentive and friendly throughout the meal, too. Overall, worth the stop for the experience and comforting homemade-style food while visiting Logan.

This place was hopping but somehow everything flowed smoothly. We tried a little bit of everything- chicken and noodles, salad, stewed tomatoes, asparagus, has brown casserole, pie, etc. my husband seemed to really enjoy their fried chicken. They also offer a menu you can order from a la carte. The buffet was so extensive that we ended up sticking with it. I only hold off on the fifth star because some of the food was over salted and/or overcooked (especially the veggies- asparagus, cauliflower, etc).

I was really craving Chinese food, and while there are plenty of options around here, I keep coming…read moreback to China Garden Buffet--and this visit reminded me why. We got there around 5:30 and it wasn't very busy, which was nice. We were seated right away. One thing I noticed is the lighting--it's pretty soft in the dining area, with most of the brightness focused on the food stations. It actually gives the place a relaxed vibe. Now let's get to the important part...the food. Everything was hot, fresh, and honestly just really good. First plate in and I already knew I made the right choice. Some standouts for me were the egg drop soup, General Tso's chicken, black pepper shrimp, and the pepper steak. All solid, all flavorful. I made a couple trips (no shame in that at a buffet), and they do a great job keeping everything stocked and fresh. The place was also very clean, which always matters with buffets. Service was great too--our server kept our drinks full without us having to ask, which I always appreciate. Wrapped things up with an almond cookie, which was a simple but perfect way to end the meal. At the end of the day, you're getting good quality, tasty food for under $15...that's hard to beat. Definitely a great value, and I'll for sure be back again soon.
