    Foods from the buffet
    Jessica C.

In town for the day, had an appt at MedVet. Wanted a quick late lunch before heading back home. 1st choice was a foccacia sandwich place but they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. So we pivoted and discovered Brazilian Grill and Bakery which was a quick 6 mile drive away from the vet's office. 1/2 grocery store, 1/2 restaurant/bakery. The entrance is the door to the grocery store side and the restaurant is on the other side. You can either order from the menu, get the all you can eat buffet, or get food from the buffet and pay per pound. The staff were ALL very nice and helpful. It is a little confusing, do we seat ourselves? Do we pay first? Before we start getting food from the buffet, do we tell someone? Basically, just ask, which is what I did. Everyone is super friendly. We got the buffet (plates and silverware are on the left side). There is a salad bar, awesome potato salad and the hot section had fried chicken breast, white rice, black and red beans, a beef stew w/ potatoes (really good, meat was fall off the bone tender; I would have gone back for more if i had stomach room), maduros (sweet plaintains--so good), a cheesy potato dish, pastels (looks like an empanada), fries, and a few other hot dishes. The skewered meats, they bring from the grill and slice off the skewers onto a plate: Picanha,?top sirloin, sausage, chicken hearts. We tried a little bit of everything and he put it all on one plate for my partner and I to share. There were 2 sauces you can spoon onto your plate: a white ?garlicky one and a spicy red one. The foods were labeled, but not in English (or at least I didn't see any signs in English?). The meats were all flavorful and fantastic!!! The sausage taste was not what I expected; it was very good but definitely different than an American brat or Italian sausage. We went on a Monday around 330 pm. There were a few people eating, but not crowded at all (which was great!); everyone that came in/out spoke Portuguese, so definitely a popular place for locals to frequent! A lot of people walked away with bags of bread!! In the refrigerated bakery area, there were all kinds of cakes, mini flans, Tres leches, different flavored mousse (passionfruit, strawberry) and a chocolate coconut cake (we took this to go, along with a flan and tres leches to try at home). There is also a hot bread section, with the popular little cheese bites, coxinhas (looks like a tear drop shaped arancini/round croquette) and other savory fried foods (I Google imaged Brazilian street food and found a great chart with pictures and names). OR just ask! Everyone was super helpful and patient (with the token Asian girl who wanted to know what everything was). And there is a rack of different breads/cake? wrapped in styrofoam and saran wrap -- i wish I knew what they were, but some looked like big squares of corn bread. Everything looked delicious. There are a lot of employees so I imagine it can get very busy. The young man who checked us out mentioned there is live music on Thursday (or Friday?) nights. Oh, I forgot, when they 'ring you up' at the end of the buffet line, they give you a card with a number on it. If you buy anything from the bakery, they will add it to your 'card', which you present to the register on the grocery store side, to pay. I've only been to the large Brazilian restaurant chains (Fogo de Chao, Texas de Brazil, etc). This place is a great local and authentic restaurant; I loved seeing so many Portuguese-speaking patrons. I will definitely come back to try everything I didn't have room for AND to try the bread everyone kept leaving with!

This place is just amazing. I love their food and the vibe. They have karaoke and that is absolutely fun. I like their buffet, caipirinha, and all the other food. People are very friendly here. I recommend this place to anyone wanna try some good Brazilian food with the vibe.

I'm the red meat eater in the family so my husband making a reservation at a Brazilian grill was a shocker. (That's a hint. Make a reservation!!! This place stayed full and busy on a Thursday night!!) We were seated at a little table for two and promptly moved to a larger table to make room for all the food we ordered. As it happened, I ordered the Picanha Grelhada and husband ordered the Churrasco Brasileiro, and the waiter talked us in to family style Chapa Mista--steak, sausage, and chicken. Add a side of pinto beans and a side of plantains and we were in business! Everything was delicious! I'm a medium rare girlie and the steak was closer to well, but it was flavorful and juicy! The sausage was sliced and crisp and so good! I even had a bite of the chicken and liked it! (I don't like chicken. Not sorry.) We did not need the loaded fries we ordered as an appetizer but they were delicious and worth keeping in mind for a good shared snack. We were too full for dessert but the variety of pastries and cakes is on the level with a stand alone bakery. One tip: Our server brought us a plastic card with a number on it after we ordered. We didn't know that you're supposed to take that card up to the cash register in the store when you're done, so we sat there looking like dummies waiting for a check. So do that. Don't be dummies like us.

I've been here a few times now, both to shop and eat and have had a great experience every time. It's a fun atmosphere where you can shop for groceries, enjoy a meal, or grab a drink. It's always lively every time I'm there regardless of the day or time. They serve delicious authentic Brazilian food and sell a wide range of Brazilian products in their market. They offer a buffet in the restaurant which is definitely the most bang for your buck. The buffet has so many delicious options ranging from meats like steak and sausage, sides like rice, beans, potato salad, bread, bakery items and sweet treats, etc. It has everything you could want! We've always had great friendly service. My boyfriend is from Brazil and this is definitely his favorite place to go!

As we were waiting for the restaurant we had planned to eat at to open, we were looking for interesting stores or bakeries to visit and kill some time. Brazilian Grill & Bakery popped up on my Yelp feed and as soon as I saw this place sold Brazilian pasteis, I knew we had to go. We arrived a bit before 11 and found not only an entire restaurant and bakery, but also a Brazilian grocery store in half the building. We're not too familiar with the groceries and food of this region, so it was certainly an adventure! We spent some time going through all the goods stocked in a couple of small rows and found a number of items to buy - yucca cheese snacks, and cashew fruit juice. It's too bad we couldn't buy any frozen goods due to our road travel or else we would have spent more! One thing we found particularly funny is that they sell the drinks right next to bottles of cleaning fluids. At first we thought those were also drinks... Afterwards, we went to the restaurant side. On weekends, they have a buffet for $25.99, but on weekdays the food is sold by weight: $9.99 for items in the main buffet line and $15.99 for the cut-to-order meats. We were still planning to go to the other restaurant - that was until the grill master took a lamb skewer off the grill and offered us a sample. We were hooked instantly and decided to forgo our previous plans. The lamb had an exquisite exterior, perfectly seasoned, with a bit of a fatty layer that crackled in the mouth. The meat was tender and barely gamey with only a hint of the lamb flavor. It was literally dripping with juices, which burst out as I chewed. This was some of the best lamb I have ever had. Once again, we don't have too much experience with authentic Brazilian food, but all the food looked appetizing and we wanted to try everything. It helped that all of the store staff were friendly and inviting. We had a bunch of questions and they took the time to answer every single one of them. Eventually, we decided to get two plates of the buffet items and another plate of meat. We skipped the small salad bar, instead opting for the numerous items in the main entree area: Arroz Carreteiro - Basically a pilaf, moist and mixed with green onions, diced carrots, pieces of cubed and cured pork belly, and small sections of beef. Feijao Carioca - Tender pinto beans in a nice savory broth. File de Porco - Pork chops with a kind of dry interior, but fantastic exterior flavor. Estrogonofe de Carne - Tender beef chunks in a delicious mustard based sauce. Carne de Panela - Pretty much tastes like a classic pot roast with beef and roasted, crispy, and fluffy potato. Tropeiro Com Torresmo - I'm not sure what this is. Smashed fried chicharrones and bread crumbs mixed with plantains, beans, onions and herbs? Tasted pretty good! Empedao de Frango - Very interesting chicken pot pie. On top is a crispy cheese crust. Then a floury dough layer that tastes of chicken broth, kind of similar in texture to a thick and dense mashed potato. Inside is shredded chicken with a thick cream cheese sauce and olives. The inside is not creamy or soupy like an American pot pie but well defined and cohesive. Banana Frita - Sweet yellow plantains with a caramelized exterior and soft tender interior. For the meat, there was a selection of picanha, flank steak, chicken, beef ribs, chicken hearts, and lamb. We went with a couple slices of the first two. Both were absolutely delicious, with a salty exterior and a beefy interior cooked to a perfect medium. There were fatty portions that were well rendered and very tender, easy to cut even with with a butter knife. Overall the buffet was a 5/5. Once you fill your plates, the server will give you a number card, which you bring to the store cashier to check out after eating. We ended up also getting a number of pasteis to-go to try later in the day: Coxinha Com Catupiry ($4) - Filled with shredded chicken, herbs, and cream cheese sauce, the same as in the pot pie. There's a very light crisp exterior studded with bread crumbs that separates easily from the dough layer. (5/5) Coxinha ($3.75) - Same as the above but missing the cheese. I liked the cheese one more - this one just has a bunch of meat that makes it a bit dry. (4/5) Assado de Frango C/Batata ($5) - Quite a dense pie crust, reminds me of soft pretzel dough, surrounding the same pulled chicken as the coxingha but mixed with potato and herbs. The herbs used are a bit different from the coxinha. Lots of crust, maybe a bit too much. (3/5) Pao de Queijo Com Goiabada ($1) - Chewy and cheesy bread with a sweet and sourish guava paste inside. And only a dollar. I should have bought way more of these and some of the normal Pao de Queijo as well. (5/5) Bathrooms - Two individual rooms, one for men, one for women. Brazilian Grill & Bakery is way better than any of those chain Brazilian Barbecue places and probably way more authentic. I would revisit in a heartbeat next time I'm in Columbus.

Ignore how it looks on the outside - trust me, it's awesome inside...

OMG, THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE PLACE IN COLUMBUS...!!! Awesome. Simply awesome. I'm amazed there's only 1 review from a Yelp Elite for Brazilian Grill & Bakery. That's a shame, and a missed opportunity. Come on, Columbus, you need to go here...! I'm serious - this is my new favorite restaurant in Columbus. I guess I'm not surprised - they're located in Columbus Square, a long-aging shopping center in Northeast Columbus at the intersection of 161 and Cleveland Avenue. The restaurant looks absolutely dumpy on the outside (see pix), then shockingly updated, light, beautiful, lively, super clean and really nice on the inside (see pix). THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS, and the price is a bargain. Think Rodizio Grill or Texas de Brazil for half the price. They have a 2 buffet tables (serve yourself) - one of cold items, another of hot items, and expertly grilled and seasoned meats carved for your enjoyment. On the weekend it's $25.99/adult for all you can eat. That's a bargain for the quality and flavors. I hear weekdays everything is priced by the pound (I believe they said $9.99/lb for hot + cold buffet items, $15.99/lb for carved meats - still a bargain). I did not ask the price for kids, but based on all of the families there I have to believe the price is less for kids. I was there on a Saturday afternoon and they had 5 different grilled meats - sirloin steak, beef ribs, chicken legs, chicken hearts (try one, they're tasty), and yummy sausages. All were expertly seasoned, nicely cooked, and delicious. The chimichurri sauce was absolutely world-class. And the red sauce next to it that was "light my fire" hot, but full of flavor and delicious. The cold buffet items were nice, especially the potato salad. The hot buffet items were nice, especially the rice covered with black bean stew. But the meat is why you come here. Why you'll crave here. Why my mouth is watering just writing this. Why I'm heading back soon. They also have a very nice full bar. I had a Caipirinha - it was perfect, expertly made, and delicious. The Caipirinha is Brazil's national cocktail - made with cachaça (a Brazilian sugar-cane rum), granulated sugar, lime, and a little mint. This was one of the best Caipirinha's I've ever had, and I've had quite a few. I asked if they could make me a Mojito, the answer was "yes". Next time... The other patrons were (no surprise) mostly Brazilian families. It's a very authentic restaurant - several servers spoke no English, and I speak no Portuguese. The guy carving the meat spoke no English or Spanish, but hey - we made it work just fine. That said, other servers speak perfect English and were very happy to translate when needed. I absolutely, positively felt very welcome, and the manager stopped by several times to check on me. Brazilian Grill & Bakery is a hidden Columbus gem. If you love grilled, wonderfully seasoned meat, it's a bargain. Great place. Delicious food. Nice and friendly people. Lovely dining room. I'm getting hungry again just writing this review. Go - just go. You'll thank me... I promise...!

The food 10/10. The place gives a very true taste of Brazilian food and environment. There's music, good service, many itens to shop if you want take anything home, and is very accessible. The only downside of it is that is very overwhelming (too loud because is very full, so can be challenging for people who get bothered by overstimulating places). But in all, definitely worth a comeback visit!

Food was great and service was great as well. like I said if you find yourself in Columbus Ohio don't forget to try it out !!

Buffet: plantains, fruit, potato salad, fries, salad, pasta with steak (similar to Stroganoff)

One of the places my fiancé and I were most excited to eat in Columbus was the Brazilian Grill & Bakery. When we entered, a young man explained how we could fill our plates at the buffet and pay by the pound. I was instantly drawn to the strawberries and pineapple...2 of my favorite fruits! I was also really stoked about the fried plantains. They were delicious! Sweet but not overly-so. The small salad and fries were tasty. I was surprised that the potato salad tasted so much better than its American counterpart. It seemed to have less mayo and less egg, which made me happy! The pasta and "beef stroganoff" were really good, not too heavy, which beef often feels to me. My partner loved the sausage and flank steak. He was also really happy about the pinto beans and rice. Overall, this was an excellent choice for a good meal with a variety of flavors. We will definitely be returning when we're back in the Arch City!

I'm obsessed with this place! Their "salad bar" is around $9.99/ lbs and it's a beautiful spread. The meat is $14.99/lb & fresh off the grill. That's just the tip of the iceberg. They also make plenty of food made to order. Dying to try their pizzas. Their caipirinhas (Brazilian cocktail) are to die for & $5 on happy hour. They also have a nice selection of beers, including Quilmes which is from my country (Argentina) & I haven't seen anywhere else out here. This place is soooo authentic it seems like only a few speak some English. As a native Spanish speaker it is still difficult for me to communicate when there, but the staff is so friendly that we always make it work. Do yourself a favor & get the giant strawberries covered in the chocolate truffle known as brigadeiros . They have to have one of the best Instagram feeds I've seen for a Columbus business. Every day they post pictures of what they have, including their daily salad bar offerings.

Had an amazing experience truly a Brazilian experience. Food and desserts were delicious. Ask for a menu if confused César helped us out! Download a translation app if you're an English speaker they are very welcoming.

When I tried logging into my rewards account, I was told I was no longer a member despite having received rewards emails in the past. I signed up again because new members are also supposed to receive 25% off their first visit, so I assumed one of those promotions would apply. When I arrived, I explained the situation to the host, who assured me it wouldn't be a problem. My reservation was marked as a birthday celebration, and the ticket given to my server also noted both my birthday and rewards membership status. When it came time to pay, no discount had been applied. I explained the situation again and showed proof of my account. The server brought over a manager, who told me that my account was likely deleted when they switched rewards systems a few months ago. Despite acknowledging that the problem was probably caused by their system, he refused to honor either the birthday promotion or the new-member promotion. His response was essentially, "Maybe next visit if it's still not working." There won't be a next visit. What made the situation even worse was that this was supposed to be my birthday dinner. Nobody acknowledged my birthday, despite it being noted on the reservation and ticket. It felt like nobody cared. The service throughout the meal was also disappointing. We repeatedly had to request specific meats because servers kept coming around with the same few options, mostly chicken and flank steak. For a restaurant that charges premium prices and advertises a wide variety of meats, that experience fell far short of expectations. I left feeling frustrated, dismissed, and honestly heartbroken. A birthday dinner should be a special experience, not one that ends with a customer feeling ignored and upset. Between the rewards issue, the manager's unwillingness to make things right, and the poor service, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've had. I've been here before and had a wonderful experience, which is exactly why I chose Texas de Brazil for my birthday. Unfortunately, this visit was so different from my previous one that it was hard to believe I was at the same restaurant.

Rodizio is a "churrascaria," which is a Brazilian restaurant specializing in barbecue. Located in the heart of the arena, District, Rodizio is a singular dining destination. Nothing quite like it anywhere nearby. There is a full salad bar, which is more like a food bar in actuality. Selections include traditional salad items of course, but also selections of pastas, vegetables, and other hot and cold food selections, as what can be best described "side dishes." This portion of the restaurant is self serve. There are of course menu items that can be ordered, but what most people come here for is the roving meat experience. A wide variety of beef, poultry, and other meat are regularly rotated throughout the dining area, by staff who act as carvers at your table. The word rodizio in Brazil actually means "rotation." Here's how it works: a meat server staff member, known as a "gaucho," will walk up to your table with a particular type of meat, and ask you if you would like a piece of that meat. If you reply, yes they will carve a piece from the larger cut of meat for you. These meats are hot, fresh from the kitchen, and ready to serve. This is how traditional Brazilian barbecues historically often work, in country. A carnivore's delight. The whole process is managed at table with a wooden peg/coaster, which is red on one end and green on the other. If the green side is up, that means the table wants to be served meats. On the other hand, if the red side is up, that means the table does not want to be served at that time. This is an immersive dining experience and very participatory. I find that it fosters conversation at the table with people you are attending with, and the entire restaurant is lively and vibrant. It is an experience that I highly recommend and always look forward to visiting.

Not bad but nothing special. We also shared the shrimp ceviche. Good flavor but strange texture with the toasted nuts. The food seems like it's fusion as my friend and I both got chilaquiles but the chips were already broken apart and mixed with the meat. Still tasty but not what we expected. My other friend got the patacon, which basically looked like a salad. Far from the usual plantain fritters with toppings. Only one of my table mates ordered something that sounded like what was expected, the Ecuadorian churrasco: sirloin, eggs, fries, rice, and salad. For dessert, we got the flan and tres leches cake. There was a hair on the cake and they quickly gave us a new slice. Good but the flan could've been better. The cake was good though. Nothing was too sweet which was perfect. Overall the food was good but not as authentic as we had hoped. The service was also a bit slow. It was a slower evening but it took a while to get our drinks. Our server was really nice though. We ordered his recommendations. I'm not too familiar with parking around here but there were parallel spots in front. I parked in the garage at the back. Around $6 for two hours.

I wish they had more steaks to choose from though and they had sides that you had to pay extra for. I got the 3 course meal for the Special - I got the lobster bisque, and the small tenderloin which came with shrimp, and then the Bundt cake for the dessert. Overall it was a good meal! It was a little bit slow because of the holiday so I understood that. But will have to come back soon!

It definitely sets the tone for a nice night out. Also this location is very different from Polaris. The service was okay...not terrible, but not as attentive or memorable as I expected for a steakhouse of this reputation. As for the food... this is where it fell short for me. I've been wanting to try it for a while because I've heard so many good things, so I came in with high expectations. Unfortunately, the steak wasn't cooked the way I prefer, the brussel sprouts weren't enjoyable, and the mashed potatoes tasted like they may have been instant, which was disappointing for a place known for steak. The one standout for me was the meatballs, they were actually really good and had great flavor. Overall, for a birthday dinner and for the reputation it has, our party left a bit disappointed. It wasn't a horrible experience, but it just didn't match the expectations we had going in.

Every time we go we have a better experience, but today brought me to tears. Armond, Ezequiel, David, and Anna literally made our day. I will never forget the hospitality and kindness we experienced today! Happy hour is all day, and the drinks are always well crafted. The never ending selection of meats are cooked to perfection. If you have not been, do yourself a favor and add it to your regular spots. We definitely have, and only wish we lived closer. If I could give them 10 stars I would!

Of the roughly five different Brazilian steakhouses I've been to, the food here was by far the worst. Half the meat that came around was grossly overcooked. Please stop serving these hard nuggets of "steak" to innocent people. These places usually have well flavored meats - not here. Virtually no sauces to add flavor to the bland meats. I'm including the meat (skewer?) servers with food here. Our table was a bit off to the side and at one point they ignored us for 10 minutes, so we just asked for the bill to leave. Potatoes served as a side dish were cold. "Market table" is usually designed to have good food to keep people from eating all the more expensive meats, alas here it was a salad bar with a few extras. Lamb chops and ribeye did not exist the whole time we were there. Writing this is as depressing as the meal. Service = Carol was the saving grace to get a star in this meal and did everything right. Everyone else was friendly as well. Dropped a fork and it was a race to get us a new one - impressive. Restaurant = Nice looking restaurant, with the music loud enough to stifle conversations.
