This is one of the best and longest-standing businesses in the area and they do great work. I have used them, many times, over the years but just recently went back for the first time since the pandemic. I needed to have the glass replaced and upgraded to museum glass on a very large piece of antique art with a delicate frame. They did it quickly and perfectly and then delivered it back to me the next day. Yesterday, I again took a piece that needed museum glass and they returned it to me, in perfect condition, within 2 hours even though I did not need it particularly quickly. If you have anything of value, do not trust them. We had a new print framed and they creased it in three spots. Incredibly disappointed. Their response was to claim it existed before they framed it. It was brand new, however, and we saw no, and they never pointed out any, creases when we dropped it off. Nothing really for us to do but not use this place again. read more

I had a valuable piece of art that needed reframing, and after consulting various other frame shops in the neighborhood it became clear to me that the Amsterdam Art Gallery was the one. After I showed Karim, the very nice and knowledgeable owner who has been in the same place for 30 years, a photo of the piece and gave him the dimensions, we discussed various framing, matting and pricing options. When I made a decision Karim promptly drove me to my apartment so I could pick up the piece and we brought it to his gallery. Three days later he delivered it back to me. Beware. This store has a lousy return policy. I was given a print as a gift. I was shocked that this print and cheap frame cost $136.79! You could easily find the same product elsewhere for less then half this cost. When I tried to return it I was only offered store credit. $136.79 does not buy you too much in this over priced store. I guess I could put it towards a $900 print. Who would pay that much for a print? It's a framed poster. These guys over charge and then don't offer money back on return. I will never do business with them and I recommend that you avoid them as well. read more

Brought in a painting done by my grandmother on Wednesday evening. Service was excellent, picked out a nice hand brushed gold frame from Italy. Cost was $178 all in which was reasonable (canvas is about 30x18 if I had to guess). He told us 1 week but it was ready the next day because they had the pieces for the frame in stock. I wouldn't expect every picture I bring in to be done in one day, but that was a nice surprise. Framing pictures is inherently expensive for quality. We looked online and probably could have saved a little money getting a frame made and framing it ourselves, but luckily we could afford this and it was not nearly worth the trouble to do that. We got a quote from Jimmy's on 78th and Broadway for a similar frame. $239 plus tax. Glad we walked over to Amsterdam! read more

I had an antique item with broken glass, and they custom cut a small circle of glass exactly the size I needed and made it work. He frames a few things for us every month and we are always pleased with the results.
