Average quality, long wait time and horrifically overpriced. I strongly urge you to get a 2nd quote before bringing anything here. I foolishly did not. Live and learn. I had 3 identical size prints - 20x36. Based on reviews of this place (which I now suspect) I brought here. I wanted a simple wood frame and no mat with anti-glare plexy. I was quoted $800 for a single print! I was shocked but stupidly believed that was market rate. I asked if he could do better, and he quoted $725 if paid cash. I agreed. He told me it would take a month! Again I stupidly just agreed. In fact, it took longer than a month! Took 5 weeks. Fast forward 3 months and I took the other 2 identical size prints to 2 other framers for quotes - same specs. I was quoted nearly *half the price* of Metro at both places (Columbus Art Gallery and Paris Framing). I ended up using Columbus Art Gallery. I could not be happier. They completed work in 3 weeks and delivered to my door - both prints for less than what I paid to have a single print done at Metro. So, hopefully you'll learn from my mistake/laziness and get another quote before bringing anything to this place....you will save a lot of $$$ if so. Response to Owner: Dear sir, I stand behind my fair review and am simply encouraging people to get another estimate before using your store. And to be clear, your manager was given the *exact* same specs as both Paris and Columbus Art Gallery. I neither asked for nor needed "museum acrylic." I was seeking to do this on a budget and your manager knew this because I expressly stated I was framing a $100 poster not fine art. He also knew I was horrified by price because I expressly asked more than once if that was the best he could do on price. At this point, your manager could have shown or suggested other options appropriate for a $100 poster. He did not. He merely said a could pay cash and he would take off the tax. Perhaps your store is targeted to people who are framing fine art and want "museum quality" framing and lifetime guarantees at top of the line prices where $$ is not a priority. If so, good for you and good for them. For the rest of us, I merely suggested getting a 2nd quote elsewhere for comparison before making a decision. For ten photos and posters, I had asked for all-black frames. But I had not asked for frames that were ALL THE SAME SIZE--thick wide black and heavy, whether the work was large or small. I had specifically asked for smaller, thinner frames for the little pieces and for a different style on certain others. Instead, I got a BIG one-size-fits=all. They look ridiculous. Hulking. And some of these outsized frames actually cover up bits of the illustration or photo. In fairness, I had to leave them w/the shop for a while due to Covid, and I am sure this place needed me to show up sooner than I did to pay in full. But bad work is bad work, and the guys there were not friendly. I had to make a $$deal with them to get back my stuff, then take it elsewhere to have it properly framed. It seems that people like this place. So, just be sure you're very clear on what they're going to do. I suspect they pay more attention to matte pieces--the big-money stuff--than they do to simple frames. read more

I went in with an original print I wanted framed-- I hadn't spent very much on the print itself, but it was of value and I wanted to make sure it stayed protected. After an initial consultation I was quoted a really high dollar amount (four figures). After discussing different frame and glass options and selecting something that was right for me, it ended up coming out to $250, which is in line with my experience at other quality framers and was reasonable. The print looks beautiful and they took care in framing it well. A little pricey but worth it if you want framing done right, and don't be afraid to ask for other frame, glass, and mat choices as it seems like they recommend the absolute top of the line first which is quite expensive, but they do have other options. read more

You do get what you pay for - so if prices are higher here than at other frame shops it is because service is personalized and both the owner and manager are not technicians but craftsmen who understand and appreciate art. They do the best job possible at whatever price point the customer sets. Over the last 15 years they have framed about two dozen pieces of art for me and each job brings out the best in that particular piece, whether it is a painting, a print or a poster -- new or antique. No other framer I have used has their understanding of design and of color. They can suggest solutions I haven't thought of, and they are always right. read more

I purchased a groupon for framing at Metro Art & Frame and went there last weekend to redeem it. I had a value of $200. I'd already gotten a few prices to frame this poster -- was holding off because I hadn't decided where I was going to use it in my apartment. All of the quotes were between $185 and $250 (depending upon the choice of frame and single/double matting). So, I expected to spend around $250 to frame this. The proprietor was not friendly and did not greet me when I walked in. When I told him I had a groupon, I could see his attitude become even more disinterested. I'm used to framers pulling multiple options and being enthusiastic about helping me. Not so here. Based upon the meager options he offered me, I selected a frame and a matte for him to give me a price. He quoted me more than $300. Way overpriced. Clearly the groupon led to price-gouging. My poster and I left the store. I got my money back from Groupon. read more

Definitely overpriced and neither the friendliest nor the most helpful, but they do a good job on framing and stand behind their work. I had them frame several oil paintings and watercolors. One of the watercolors came loose from its matting a couple years later and they fixed it without a grumble. read more

I've used Metro a few times, and both times I've been attracted to their sevices through Groupon. While they are expensive (quite expensive) they do wonderful work. Each time that I came in I was greated warmly and had great experiences with their staff. The frames looked great, and they did an excellent job of finishing everything with great care. I'm proud to have my flea market finds finally hanging on my wall! I would give them 5 stars if they were a bit more affordable. Then again, you do get what you pay for. read more

I give it 5 stars for the framing, 3 stars for the prices (they are a bit overpriced but not too much), and 4 stars for the service the 4 stars for the service should be 5 because the staff is very friendly and helpful, but the owner is a total jerk, very rude. I came here through a Groupon, and would come again without any discount. They do a professional job framing and completed my order in a short period of time. You will need to use your "artist's eye" for choosing the frame -- the people working there had suggestions for the technical aspects of framing my piece, but not so much for the color or material of the frame. My artwork was tricky to work with (a mosaic made of metal pieces, glued to a wooden board), and they did a wonderful job creating a sturdy, sleek frame. read more
