The cuteness of the restaurant was so inviting- the restaurant looks like a log cabin with outdoor lighting streaming from it. The restaurant is nested at the base of the hill up to Snowbowl, and next to the Basecamp hotel. We settled in for a couple of drinks outside- Outside space is sprinkled with some comfy lounge chairs, outdoor firepits, games and more. All with a beautiful view of the sky, mountains and forest. This is a very relaxing place to enjoy the beautiful sky and some drinks. And the staff at the bar were super friendly. The drinks are also very reasonable in price. We had just a one night stay at this hotel as we were visiting the Grand Canyon and this is on our…read moreway home. The room was clean and spacious, we reserved a king room with a lounge chair. They have other options with a couch and a pullout bed, but we really didn't need that much room. The bed was comfortable and they were extra blanket and pillows in the closet. I feel the bedding at a Hilton Garden Inn is upgraded versus a Hampton. All toiletries were provided, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. There is a Keurig coffee maker in the room as well as a refrigerator and microwave, which is really nice to have. I did not see a Safe in the room. There is an ironing board And iron though. They do provide a $10 per person credit for food and beverage if you are gold or diamond, but it doesn't actually cover the cost of breakfast as the buffet is $14.95 a person. They did have some à la carte options and I have posted a picture of that as well. They do have a decent selection of snacks and such that you are allowed to spend that credit on as well, which is what we ended up doing. They have a small indoor pool as well as a fitness center, but we did not have time to check those out. It is very conveniently located- a dinner recommendation would be that there is an Angie's lobster 1 mile away and they make a phenomenal lobster roll for $9.99 or a crab roll for $7.99. Very tasty! There is also a Starbucks a half mile away for your morning coffee. The total for our stay with taxes was about $150, parking is free which we appreciate it since so many hotels are charging for parking. Front desk staff were super friendly, there is coffee set out in the morning as well as they had flavored waters And little treats. They also had a comfortable looking seating area outside. There are three electric car charging stations as well in the parking lot. There's quite a few restaurants within walking distance, there's a Denny's across the street and a red lobster or Olive Garden are pretty close too

Especially the RN's who work Labor & Delivery) The campground was covered in snow (February) and so I cannot comment about the showers/restrooms/laundromat, etc. as these services are not available in the winter. However, this just means more available spaces to park or camp (they have sites for tents, Campers, big 5th wheels with slide-outs and huge motor coaches they have new 50amp sites for with easy pull in access! Sites are big enough and signage is good. The one thing I would suggest is during the summer, they need to somehow mark the driving pathways so they can easily be distinguished from campsites when snowfall covers the ground. We accidentally drove thru some tent sites getting to our reserved 30amp space in the very back of the campground. No harm done - but my sweet hubby who was driving in was getting quite grumpy how awkward it was to park - only to later realize that if we would have followed the roadway, it would've made a lot more sense and been so much easier! Once we parked, Water and Electric hook ups were quite easy, and each site had a picnic table with plenty of room for parking we even had room at our site for an extra car to park. We thought we would only be there a couple of nights, but due to complications with the birth we ended up having to stay more nights and even asked for a late checkout, and both needs were met by office staff with such kindness and understanding. By the way, definitely make some time to shop around the store. Besides supporting your local community businesses, they have some excellent products for a VERY tasty charcuterie board, light lunch and snacks to take back to your campsite or pack up to go on a hike! My last comment is about marking your GPS coordinates if you are on any site at the back (closest to the brick wall) where the new 50amp and 30amp sites are. Apple Maps, Google Maps & Waze will all mark correct GPS coordinates, however, when you switch to an address, it will tell you that you are on the next street over as if you are one of the apartments on the other side, of the brick wall. In fact, even the sites across from our not up against the brick wall, still show an address using the street name "Pico Del Monte Circle" on the other side of the brick wall where the apartments are located. This is pretty important if you are using your location finder to give somebody else directions to where you are or using apps like Instacart or DoorDash. I did use DoorDash while we were there and the driver had to call and I had to explain how to get into the campground.. this has nothing to do with Woody Mountain Campground and everything to do with the map situation. I did report it to Apple and Google. Hopefully it will get fixed but as of today, i see that has not been fixed. (may 2026)

I wish her counterpart the next morning had been a bit more warm and not so snobbish. It was pouring down rain on November 22, 2025, when I checked in, so the mood was already quite sour. Then the spot where I parked was overflowing with rain water. Unloading with two kids plus a dog was adventurous to say the least. Lol. The room was disappointing. Small. Everywhere I turned almost everything was outdated. Not the cleanest. Torn, dirty top bedding. Cold with the air conditioning running as soon as we walked in. It had a fridge, yet, no microwave. Weird. The in-room hair dryer was super weak. I should have brought my own. Breakfast was across the other parking lot in a huge sloped-roof building. It was quite nice. Oddly, the nicest thing. I like the self-serve yogurt area. The toppings were limited, but I really do love yogurt for breakfast. The indoor pool was also in this vicinity. The major plus was that this hotel was dog-friendly. The pet fee was $25. There was also a pet area with a pet waste bag receptacle provided. My canine refused to relieve herself in the pouring down rain, so at 2:30 AM when she could no long hear it, she woke me up and we walked out this way. It was well-lit at night. My total bill for a double queen, one adult, two kids, and a dog was $185.39. I don't think I'll be back.

Our room still smelled like paint when we entered but we opened the window since the weather was cool. Some of the doors stick when closing, but the room, bathroom and sheets were very clean. Fridge and coffee maker in room. Shower had a large rain style head with amazing pressure and HOT water. Beds and pillows decently comfortable. It's not the Hilton but it was good for a night. Staff were friendly and called ahead to confirm our check in.

I really tried to get accustomed to this place with the "it is what it is" mentality; I grew up in a run down apartment but this was worse. We bought tickets for the Flagstaff Underground tour on Groupon not really knowing what to expect…read more We are from Mesa, so we chose a weekend, booked a stay at Hotel Monte Vista & made an overnight trip out of it. At first, I was having some technical difficulties redeeming the Groupon online. However, I followed the merchant email instructions & sent a message letting the business know that I was struggling to book our tour. Scott emailed me back very quickly and assisted me with getting everything set up. We were given clear instructions on where to meet up before the tour. The tour group consisted of approximately 7 guests (including my husband and I) I am not going to add any spoilers here, because I recommend that anyone who is intrigued about some Wild West Flagstaff history should hear it straight from Scott's mouth. Scott is such an enthusiastic person who has immense passion for the history of his city. He made the tour so much fun! He clearly puts a great amount of effort into putting his tours together. He let us know that not every tour is the same, he switches them up to keep things from getting bland. The tour was 90 minutes long, we walked around downtown Flagstaff and received tons of information about the history of the area. As we hit a historic mark, Scott would share photos of what the specific spots looked like in the early 1900's, and even pointed out small details that the average passerby may not even notice. It was very cool! I also appreciated that the tour did not feel rushed. Scott allowed ample time for questions, and it was clear that he enjoyed having additional conversations with guests on the tour about each specific site. He was not in a hurry, he just thoroughly enjoys his job! The funny part is, when we saw other groups from other companies out on tours, the night before, the groups looked bored, the tour guides were barely talking.... It honestly made me nervous about our upcoming tour. Luckily for us, we made the right choice! My favorite part of the tour was catching a glimpse of Flagstaff's underground tunnels. I walked away from this tour feeling much more informed about Flagstaffs history, and honestly, I cannot wait to come back and do another tour with Scott. At the end, he mentioned that he will be hosting a paranormal investigation in the near future, and I cannot wait to attend!! If you haven't already booked a tour with Scott, you're missing out!!
