Cool spot! I can't believe how long it took us to check it out. We went with our kids (ages 7, 10) and puppy after a day of skiing. Tap list is a little light on lagers (my preference), but big enough to find something I liked. My family enjoyed the hot dogs, with interesting topping combos. We were on the wait list for a restaurant next door, so decided to stop here for a drink while we waited. They offered spiced apple cider for Thanksgiving week and it really hit the spot. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This bar is directly across the street from the train depot. They occasionally have live music, but we have not been there to enjoy it. This place is great for so many reasons. The first thing I noticed when I first came in, a year ago, is how genuinely nice and friendly the staff is. I immediately met John, the owner, and I'm pretty sure he remembered my name the second time I came in a week or so later. He clearly puts emphasis on hiring staff with this same attitude. This is still the best part of why I love this bar - John smiles when I come in, which makes me smile too. And then there is the beer, all the beers. John obviously cares about that, too. He knows his stuff, stocks many good (and changing) beers, and does a great job of talking to you about them, figuring out what you might like, giving tastes, etc. The only hot food is hot dogs, but get this: they stock vegetarian hot dogs too. The variety of toppings is interesting: ask for the "Southwest Style", which includes chipotle mayo and ghost pepper sauce. Extra napkins for the former and plenty of beer helps the latter. They care about the community, too, figuring out different ways to host good live music, trivia nights, other games and activities, showcasing local artists, and working out how to collaborate with other Flagstaff businesses.
