Parking there is free and had received good reviews for safety when I looked, but sadly our experience was not a good one.

Everybody waking up and talking real loud. It's so loud on this train. I hate we they don't have a double decker because you have to seat next to someone and I like to sit by the window. I'm ready for this train to stop at the next station so I can move and be really comfortable. They don't check to see if you have covid or not. They don't give got masks. People coughing. While traveling to Dearborn I learned my return 3 days later had been canceled. The gentleman quickly looked at the situation and got me rebooked. The station was spacious and clean. The city transit also departs from here so just another added bonus. There is a fantastic resteraunt near by called Ford's Garage. The Comfort Inn nearby was clean and reasonable too.

Drove by the place twice because it doesn't give off this high tech, look-at-me-getting-my-train-ticket-scanned-on-my-phone vibe. The smell is a bit chemically when you walk in, but it goes away after a while. About 80 or so people can sit inside comfortably on wooden pews. The paint is chipping off of the ceiling, but I hope you're not here long enough to notice that. Now, I'm visiting around the holidays, so I don't know what used to be where the Christmas tree is, but without it the area would be even more spacious. I think the staff consists of mostly veterans (thank you for your service!) which adds a nice touch. There's a Pepsi vending machine and if my eyes aren't deceiving me, that's all in terms of snacks and drinks. The station doesn't provide much outside of getting the job done and it does just that.

We always get dropped off by a family member, so I can't comment on parking, but I know they have parking available. The inside has a few benches in the seating area, but other than that, amenities are very limited. The bathrooms are either super dirty, or not even open (like the most recent time I traveled from this spot). There are security guards patrolling the area. Typically the train departure times are better from Kalamazoo vs. Grand Rapids, so we continue to travel from here but it's not the best.

There are a lot of wondering eyes and you can never be too careful with the amount of homeless people roaming in and out of the building. It's a great a service to have but not with how poorly managed it is. I have not been assaulted or robbed but one can never be too careful.
