Two words: Bed Bugs. Two more words: Horrific service…read more Last two words: NOT safe. Save your money & go elsewhere. We checked in & performed a routine check & within 20 minutes found: -Bedbugs crawling on the mattress -the bolt-lock on the door unscrewed & tampered with -the peephole pushed out of the door (you could see straight in from the hall) -A staff member staring into our room as we walked in, concerning given the locks being tampered with -Dirty Footprints in the shower When we checked out twenty minutes later, requesting a refund, speaking to the front desk-manager and his manager was about as productive as calling the White House and asking to speak to the President. This hotel must be some sort of tourist scam, given that they refused to refund us, refused to produce us a receipt, refused to give us a copy of policies (stating they "only had one copy), and refused to give us any manager contact information, then lied and said they gave us one, but it was the front desk number when we called to check. Repeatedly dishonest, unprofessional and a true embarrassment of an establishment to the Freeport area.

Let's begin by the cold greeting of this indian lady confronting me about how she tried to call me…read morebut there's no answer. We checked in late because we were driving in the dark with poor visibility and we had to take our time. She began talking in a robotic monotone of where everything is. The bathroom smells like mold and mildew. Possibly to the obviously unchanged shower curtain. The bottom of the shower all around was covered with rust and mold. The corners of the carpet are visibly dusty. The ice machine is nowhere to be found. Honestly though, i think you get what you paid for. You are probably better off checking into the neighboring Holiday Inn.

I had a really disappointing experience this morning with Brunswick Taxi. I have a traumatic brain…read moreinjury (TBI), and I've worked really hard over the years on things like my speech and confidence in everyday interactions. Because of that, this situation hit me harder than it might otherwise. My driver (he was wearing a burgundy leather jacket, had a big mustache) made a comment that I "seemed sketchy" simply because I tried to use Apple Pay. That caught me completely off guard. If this were late at night, maybe I could understand a bit more caution--but this was a normal daytime ride, and I was clearly trying to pay for the trip. I wasn't acting suspicious or trying to avoid payment in any way. I was actually being friendly and conversational during the ride. He even mentioned he was having a boring Easter weekend, so I tried to engage and be polite. That's why the comment felt even more unnecessary and discouraging. On top of that, the driver didn't seem to know where we were going. At one point, he was about to take a turn in the opposite direction, which would have added time (and cost) to my fare. I didn't make a big deal out of it at the time, but it was frustrating--especially since this could have easily been avoided by just entering the address into a GPS. What made it more confusing was that when we arrived, he started chatting with a worker at the laundromat like he knew the area, which made the situation feel inconsistent. I understand that drivers may have had bad experiences in the past, but I don't think it's fair to label or ridicule someone based on how they choose to pay--especially in a world where digital payments are completely normal. As long as someone has the funds and intends to pay, that should be what matters. Honestly, the interaction left me feeling embarrassed and discouraged. After putting in a lot of effort to rebuild my confidence, this really set me back and ended up ruining my weekend. Because of this experience, I don't think I'll be using this service again.
