Tonight Doc got us reservations for a Speakeasy Mystery Crawl in Nashville. The COLD night air confirmed I better buy a black coat to match the new black dress since they have a dress code. Thankfully I found a bedazzled light weight black coat for $30, bling earrings and a ring to get into the mood for this evening's 7:30 pm event. This shop did not have that musty smell like Goodwill or Savers. We'd shop for music or Big Sky bears ages ago but not clothes. I think watching Twilight Zone in my school age years gave me the Willie's of wearing someone else's clothes. Hub's aunty even told them she had nightmares with her own mom's clothes when she passed. Hopefully the one sage bundle i saw in the shop will be cleansing enough with my purchases. Hubs stayed in the car with Grandpup and Doc decided to go next door and treated us to coffee. (No shade thrown, it's all apart of the vibes) This vintage store sells clothing, shoes, accessories, and a few other things. Vast array of sizes. They are on the pricey side. They had some pretty cool t-shirts, and vintage Dooney and Burke purses and wallets. A lot of their vintage pieces are for those that have a more eclectic vintage style. From the street they look closed because the windows seemed tinted. From the parking lot, they appear closed as well, and the inside is dim lit.

Ventured to ThriftSmart to donate a few containers of clothes and shoes, and initially had no…read moreintention of shopping, but once I looked around, I had to make a lap through this place! Situated alongside Planet Fitness in an older shopping center on Nolensville Pike, ThriftSmart is a solid spot that is doing good things for the Nashville community! I initially found TS due to their partnership with a local organization, so donating to them was very important and purposeful. The donation process is standard and easy. Pull up, grab a cart, dump your goods and go on about your day. All the donation carts were full when I arrived, which is a good problem, so I got a standard buggy and wheeled my stuff in, then dumped in the large wire bins. Once I was done, I parked and then hit the aisles. The variety of goods that they have is amazing, and the prices are excellent. The place was very busy for a Monday afternoon, and they had plenty of associates and volunteers on the floor and at the registers. Overall, big fan of ThriftSmart and the impact they make to the local community. Worthwhile to stop in out of need or curiosity for sure!

This Goodwill is located on Gallatin Pike in Madison, and anchors one end of a large complex that features several other retail, service and food spots from local to chain. This location is quite large and organized for the most part. Sections are clearly marked, aisles are clear and it is easy to navigate from one end to the other. The store, like most Goodwill locations, has seen better days conditionally and could use some TLC. Cleanliness is hit and miss, but never awful. The donation center for this location is around back and is self-serve. There are bins left outside where you can drop your goods and go. If you want a receipt, they have a QR that gives you what you need. Simple and easy process, and my go-to for donation drop-offs. Overall, it's a Goodwill. Solid 3.5 for me.

I decided to check out The Hip Zipper because it is supposedly the oldest vintage store in Nashville and the prices from other reviewers said were fair to affordable! Selection made for the first stop. I was greeted by the lovely Gracie name suited her. She allowed me to browse quick to answer questions and showed me to the dressing room all while juggling other clients. The Hip Zipper has an ample dressing room for trying on. I think there is only one dressing room. However, in a pinch they might use the restroom. I must mention they do have a restroom which is lovely. I really love the layout of the store easy to survey every rack CLEARLY marked with what is there. The tags give additional help on the size and prices are CLEARLY marked. Please remember vintage does run smaller don't FORCE these garments to fit if you are having trouble PLEASE ask for assistance. I picked up two very fabulous dresses from two different eras of fashion. A sweater dress with amazing details and a matching belt dating from the 1940's to 1950's $ 52.00 and a late 1970's early 1980's dress for a mere $ 10.00! As we approached the check out counter to inquire the price of a glass globe with matches in it, we over heard two employees chatting about how to price items. One, more "seasoned" sales person told the other that she just randomly makes up the price when it is not marked on an item and if customer is "stupid enough to accept the price" then that is what it is sold for. Both employees laughed it off. My sister had already purchased an item before we heard this exchange which she did not hear. Since then, Friday April 10, 2026, we have shared this information to discourage other "stupid" shoppers from giving this store any business. Shame on them for their LOW CLASS treatment of consumers. I will make sure and pass this on to the many new families we know that will be sending their children to Vanderbilt and Belmont this fall.
