Cut country throwbacks! Kinda pricey but worth the look! Very friendly, fun. Boots, hats, Levi's, leather and some records!

Very cool vintage clothing shop. Ever since Julian,…read more California when I bought some pieces of jewelry, my interest was peaked to come here cuz we had 30 minutes til we could check into our lodging. Tonight Doc got us reservations for a Speakeasy Mystery Crawl in Nashville. The COLD night air confirmed I better buy a black coat to match the new black dress since they have a dress code. Thankfully I found a bedazzled light weight black coat for $30, bling earrings and a ring to get into the mood for this evening's 7:30 pm event. This shop did not have that musty smell like Goodwill or Savers. We'd shop for music or Big Sky bears ages ago but not clothes. I think watching Twilight Zone in my school age years gave me the Willie's of wearing someone else's clothes. Hub's aunty even told them she had nightmares with her own mom's clothes when she passed. Hopefully the one sage bundle i saw in the shop will be cleansing enough with my purchases. Hubs stayed in the car with Grandpup and Doc decided to go next door and treated us to coffee. Thanks Doc for driving again today and the afternoon caffeine.

I was able to take my time and look through every section. Prices matched the value of the clothing in my opinion. There was plenty of parking. I found Smack on Yelp when my friend Marita was a patient at nearby Vanderbilt University Medical…read moreCenter and wanted something comfy to wear. I live in the Dallas area, and she didn't have friends or family nearby who could bring her clothes, so I was trying to find something I could have a courier pick up and deliver. I talked to Rob, who wasn't actually in Nashville that day, but did a mental review of the store and said that he didn't really think he had what I was looking for. He was really nice and said when he was back in town he'd be happy to help if I still needed it. I thought that was a lovely gesture, but moved on to a quicker solution and dismissed it. So naturally, I was surprised to get a call from Rob a few days later, asking how my friend was doing and offering to go to another store, get something comfy and take it to her at the hospital. Now how nice is that? Amazing! You really have to patronize this store just because he's such a nice person! Naturally, when I arrived in Nashville a week or so later, I made a point of going by to thank Rob personally for his concern. And it was then I fell in love with his store! It's fun and full of the almost theatrical vintage I love, with a distinct country western flair. Lots of fringe, sequins, boots, belts and bolo ties, some from decades you may not remember! The day I was there, Rob had a Nudie suit that had been owned by Merle Haggard. If I lived in the Nashville area I would be a regular - and apparently a lot of local musicians and artists are too. If you want something unique, kitschy or dramatic (that you definitely won't find at TJ Maxx!), this is the place to come. And as a bonus, you get to buy it from a genuinely nice guy!

They have a diverse collection that spans through the past 3-4 decades, you'll get a kick out of it just walking through and picturing yourself in a movie montage. They have tons of stuff from the 80's & 90's, there is no chance anyone that walks in here can't find something they like! The prices are so reasonable you'd almost call it a thrift shop!

Hello again yelpers!…read more So according to the address this is the Bachrach in Opry Mills mall however the pictures posted are not the one I'm used to. I feel like these photos are pre-flood even though the year they were posted (2016) was after the flood. So I'm going to review based on Bachrach as I know it now... which is incredible. Now this is not a place I have ever before shopped at or anything like it, I'm not much of a suit guy (sadly). I once went here on a whim because I had extra money to spend (for once) and I realised that I didn't have any suits to wear in case I get invited to a formal event (as if). However, every man worth his salt should certainly own one or two good suits. It's no secret that this place is really quite expensive. A suit jacket is $250 (not including pants) and a vest is $70, though luckily the place does have sales. So I went in there once and an older gentleman walked right up to me and said some random numbers to me and told me that was my size as if he could just tell by looking at me. Well guess what? I didn't even know my size and he was spot on because the suits I tried on were perfect fits. I had to get my pants hemmed but that cost very little and was worth it. I tell you, I was actually looking forward to spending exorbitant amounts of money there after the man helped me as I did. Months later we're friends and he's my go-to guy for fashion advice. Will never buy a suit anywhere else so long as he works at Bachrach. Happy yelping!

It can be daunting picking where to go since you have never gone into that city or know the market. I visited on March 21,2026 Also, there is the question of selection, price point, and condition ESPECIALLY when buying vintage pieces. I decided to check out The Hip Zipper because it is supposedly the oldest vintage store in Nashville and the prices from other reviewers said were fair to affordable! Selection made for the first stop. I was greeted by the lovely Gracie name suited her. She allowed me to browse quick to answer questions and showed me to the dressing room all while juggling other clients. The Hip Zipper has an ample dressing room for trying on. I think there is only one dressing room. However, in a pinch they might use the restroom. I must mention they do have a restroom which is lovely. I really love the layout of the store easy to survey every rack CLEARLY marked with what is there. The tags give additional help on the size and prices are CLEARLY marked. Please remember vintage does run smaller don't FORCE these garments to fit if you are having trouble PLEASE ask for assistance. I picked up two very fabulous dresses from two different eras of fashion. A sweater dress with amazing details and a matching belt dating from the 1940's to 1950's $ 52.00 and a late 1970's early 1980's dress for a mere $ 10.00! Although I wish I spent more time looking at accessories! There were a few purses that I was swooning over now I wish I had picked one up. I will call tomorrow and ask if I bought it would shipping home be a possibility. The Hip Zipper DEFINITELY worth a visit if you are visiting Nashville.

The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. Prices seem to be about 35-40 for most things. I would recommend it, and there's a cute Dolly mural outside of it
