Super awkward atmosphere when I walked in. The employees made me uncomfortable because they quite literally stared at me the entire time and it was super quiet in there. They just didn't give me time to look at the different flavors and options so I felt rushed. Also, I had to use the bathroom and they told me I couldn't because it was "closed" (I came in at 8:30pm and they closed at 10pm) I was pretty upset because that just sounded like a load of crap. OMG! Y'all - it's donut Disneyland up in here! I've never ever seen so many different donuts in one place! I'm the girl who never gets overwhelmed by having too many choices and I was beyond overwhelmed. We ended up getting a free bag of donut holes thanks to the Yelp check in offer and a Strawberry glazed. WOW!!! Everything was so tasty! It was super sweet and sugary but perfect! After ordering online for curbside pickup, we got an email with a time for pickup. On arrival I parked and waited 5 minutes past the pickup time, then decided to go inside. At the door there's a handmade sign instructing curbside customers to call when you get there. Only problem is it's behind you when you park. Once inside, the staff did not have the order ready, and didn't even have the tablet used for online orders turned on. Now these are small issues in the long run, but when I got the box back home we found that half the order was wrong, and one of the bars had just been smashed on top, smearing chocolate on the box lid. I pass Amy's Donuts every day on my way to work. Every day I am running just a tad late and see that there's a line inside, so I just keep driving. Today that changed. I was in full fried dough withdrawals and I HAD to stop. I didn't WANT a donut. I NEEDED a donut. Of course an eight member conference group got ahead of me and was just overwhelmed by the selection. Today he ordered a halloween donut that looked like a mummy. I'll quote him when he said, "This mummy is yummy in my tummy." (He's 5) He also ate a dirt and worms which he loved as well. I ordered an "old fashioned blueberry" and chocolate sprinkles. Their "old fashioned" donuts are much thicker and sweeter than the fluffy, pillow donuts we know and love these days. The staff is SO darn adorable and friendly, and it's all smiles when it comes to the decor.....my daughter was oogling at all the donut paraphernalia, cute cute cute!!! Every time I go to Amy's Donuts, I have a plan....I really do. I tell myself that I know exactly what I want and I'm just going to get in and out. But standing in front of those long donut cases with multiple colors, shapes, sizes and flavors & toppings, my plan falls apart! What if there's a new donut? Do I really want the chocolate glazed or should I get the red velvet? Wait-- there are donuts with Kit-Kats, s'mores and snickers? It feels like minutes fly by while I'm weighing all the options. Are there 100? I don't know but I feel terrible for the staff as they watch me and countless others make those tough decisions. Surely it can't just be me! I was really hoping to love Amy's donuts, since we share the same name, and they had so many fun sounding options to choose from. Sadly, the donut that I had from here was just ok, but I only tried one item. They weren't busy at 9:30pm on a Tuesday night, and luckily there were still plenty of donuts to choose from at that time. Amy's is open for takeout during covid. You can't sit inside. But it's bright and cheerful and the staff greets you when you come in. And stare at the overwhelming number of different kinds of donuts! It's crazy! So much to choose from so ins6 of the 2 or 3 i was planning on getting, i walked out with a dozen, and a small bag of donut holes of glazed donuts. Those lasted all of 4 minutes as I devoured the donut holes as i drove off in my car. Go here. Treat yourself. It's the last weekend in January and I'm happy to see it go!
