The bagel breakfast sandwich was good, but overall I'd probably stick with Sunday Bagels next time. I also ordered a matcha, and unfortunately that was the disappointing part of the experience. As you can see in the video, the color looked nothing like a typical matcha--or even like the matchas Kaufman advertises on their own social media. The employee who served it to me even commented on the color and said, "I don't know why it looks like that." I later sent Kaufman a photo of the drink on social media. They heart-reacted to the photo, so I followed up and pointed out that the matchas they advertise online don't look anything like the one I received. They saw my message but never responded. I understand that drinks can occasionally come out wrong, but I was more disappointed by the lack of acknowledgment or effort to address it, especially after even their employee noticed something seemed off. For the price, I expected a properly made matcha or at least some kind of response when I reached out. read more

Not bad at all. Ordered a few sandwiches from here and a coffee. Not a fan of the coffee. The lox cream cheese isn't as potent as I'd like it to be. If you eat the bagels right away, after ordering, they have a pretty good texture and a nice flavor. If you wait a little bit, it will definitely need some reheating. read more

Visited on a Saturday morning and ordered an egg+cheese bagel sandwich with an iced mocha. I thought having schmear on the egg+cheese was a little odd, but it was still pretty good. Iced mocha was solid as well! The food and drinks were served really quickly and the staff was nice. There was a musician playing outside as well. Free parking in the lot behind the storefront. My boyfriend and I went here for the first time recently and it was SO GOOD. We both got breakfast bagel sandwiches with bacon & a green chile schmear, BOMB! I also got the seasonal iced blueberry chai latte, which was also so yummy. Overall, they have a really nice bagel and latte selection. The staff is also super friendly! Hi!!! I have been wanting to try these bagels for such a long time and so I went in today cause I finally had time and I got a dozen of different assortments, and I also got the locks bagel as well. Everything was so good and I got their cream cheese, the plain and it was so flavorful. The bagels were so soft inside, but so crispy on the outside and the flavor was fantastic and I can't wait to try all of them. This is a hidden gem and I'm so glad I stopped!!!!!!! read more

Kaufman's bagel was a let down. It was uneven with one half thicker and one half thinner. The thinner side felt like you were eating a bagel thin. It was crisp on the outside but the inside felt too dry rather than chewy. The schmear was tangy compared to other places. The service is great though. Staff was super nice. We were not expecting to have a good bagel in Albuquerque, but was pleasantly surprised. On a Sunday morning , the line was out the door. There are several bagel and spread options to choose from. My daughter had the breakfast bagel , with egg, bacon and tomato and sundried tomato basil cream cheese. She enjoyed the freshness of the sandwich. I had a pretzel bagel with rosemary olive spread. The pretzel bagel had too much salt, but the spread was delicious. The latte , from a local roaster was smooth. The entire experience was not rushed and welcoming, even with the line. Everything was perfect! Just in town for the day and stopped in for breakfast because I was craving bagels (so hard to find good ones in New Mexico in general). I thought the bagels sandwiches were tasty we had for breakfast and brought another bakers dozen home of various varieties and loved them all. The bagels were a bit on the smaller side than I'm used to I guess vs a Noah or Einstein bagels but not hating in this economy and still delicious. When driving down Central, we saw this bagel shop. I ordered an Albuquerque turkey bagel and my wife got a green chili and cream cheese bagel. I ordered the iced flat white and my wife got a mocha. Our order was taken promptly and the staff seemed unfriendly and detached. After making a face when I asked for an iced flat white, the cashier promptly rung me up and turned the screen around for a gratuity. I gave one figure and they would at least bring the food to the table, but that wasn't the case. Overall, the food was OK service below average and very expensive. read more

This is a great place. First time since moving out of New York I found a truly New York style bagel - hand rolled, boiled and super soft. Huge selection of spreads, really fresh salmon, even coffee is not bad, and this is coming from a European coffee snob. Staff is super friendly. This is a great place for a breakfast. New York style diner! I work nearby so this is perfect place to pick up a really good breakfast. I was impressed with my classic breakfast only $8.99. My Americano was also very good and also great price only $3.00 I will definitely be coming back to try the matzo ball soup, and one of their sandwiches great stuff and customer service. read more

I have to say this place could be much better overall atmosphere is dirty . The windows were dirty the black wall is filthy gross dirty . Counters are cluttered. There was a ton of staff doing nothing play toys but toys that are RATS and a baby one . O so horrific the bagels were resent and the match had no sweetener nor asked if I wanted any. I am a regular at this fine bagel shop. A very welcome addition to the El Vado neighborhood. Lots of natural light, friendly and attentive staff. Limited seating, but adequate; many customers get orders to go. I'm fond of the Kaufman special. I like the dark roast coffee. Prices are reasonable. read more

Friendly staff, great bagels, nice interior. It's so wonderful to have a great bagel place in Albuquerque ... finally! My two complaints are ... the tub of cream cheese is seriously overpriced and I've ordered a bakers dozen twice, and both times, I've asked for six poppyseed bagels only to get home and find sesame seed bagels. Did I not live on the opposite side of town I'd have driven back to exchange. Lesson learned -- watch the server - they might not know which is which and check your bag before you leave! I tried these by happenstance because of them being at an event, and then getting some of the leftovers from a friend. Somehow even though they are two days old, I can say with certainty that I understand now why people eat bagels. These are the by far best bagels I've ever had in my life. The smear is next level whipped creaminess, and even a couple of days old I'm just mind- blown by the flavor and texture of these. Will need to stop by and try the green chile kind sometime soon. Close to Old Town Albuquerque is Kaufman's Coffee and Bagels. In search of coffee and breakfast I stopped here to rest my aching bones. It did not disappoint. The freshly made bagels come in a variety of flavors with many shmears to choose from. I went with the garlic and onion with chive cream cheese. The bagel was warm and fresh and just the right amount of fluffy vs crispy. The shmear was amazing as well. Savory and flavorful. I also enjoyed the lavender honey latte a latte. It too was very flavorful, and just the right temperature. It was equal parts sweet and relaxing. The staff was very nice and friendly. There is free parking behind the building, indoor and outdoor tables available. Definitely pop on by. read more

Bagel was alright, i enjoy supporting local businesses but just comparing it to Einstein's bagels this place is 2x the price, 1/2 the size and just doesn't taste the same. Don't come here if you're in a hurry... we called an order in for pickup but there's no way to pay so you then have to wait in line which defeats the purpose. The woman making coffee called out the order as ready and I asked if we had to wait in line (which was out the door) to pay and I'm not sure if she was uncomfortable although responded quite aggressively saying yeah there's only one register. After that she kept looking over at us and then mumbled to the guy at the register, I had assumed letting him know who the order was for. We waited another 10-15 minutes until we finally got to the register. As soon as we approached, the man at the register told us to wait a minute while he transferred one bagel at a time into the display, clearly this was intentional as we were trying to be efficient to grab bagels and go. Clearly, there is nothing efficient at this restaurant. I almost ordered an iced coffee although based on the level of service and how intentionally they were trying to make us wait, I ordered hot. Thank goodness. The bagel itself was good. I ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was dense, really well toasted, and good amount of cream cheese. The only complaint is that the everything seasoning needed more salt. Overall, good bagels but wouldn't go back due to how rude the staff was. read more
