I had been a loyal customer for almost 10 years without an issue. I don't know if they have changed management, but the quality had been going downhill. Then, when I had an issue, they were not truthful. They ruined one of my dresses. They told me that they looked at my clothes on a camera and that my clothes came in damaged. I rarely use dry cleaning services so I was at a loss on where to take some specialty items that I needed cleaned. Naturally, I began by opening up Yelp and checking out some places nearby. Not only is Clean Smart near to where I live, but I also had a fantastic experience with them! The white tux shirt that belongs my partner has all kinds of stains on it (lots of which being my makeup ) and I made sure to point that out and ask if they could remove them. I also had some big, unknown stain on a dress that I had made and asked if they could remove that as well. When I came to pick up the garments, I was very pleased to see that ALL of the stains were removed and our garments looked brand new! Also, I believe the owner was the one who handed me our garments and he was so kind and told me to call the store if I wasn't satisfied with something so that they can fix it. Top notch customer service!! Lastly, our garments were actually ready same-day although I picked them up a few days later. Have been using this cleaners for years, but consistency has definitely been lacking the last 8-12 months. Issues include shirts returned wrinkled, uneven presses and shirt buttons regularly pulled or ripped off. Recently had a shirt sleeve that very clearly had been snagged and ripped. Owner and "manager" were incredibly rude and aggressive, refused to take any accountability and even lied about laundering the shirt at all. Will be taking my business elsewhere moving forward. read more

They do a pretty good job with our comforters. We had a white comforter with stains though and they couldn't get them out without ruining the comforter they said so ended up having to throw it out. But overall good finishing time. read more

Went to pick it up today and my fur looks like mf lamb.... I'm so pissed. I showed the owner a picture of my coat before I brought it in and he had the nerve to tell me it was a different coat, but looked stupid after the cashier and the guy who cleaned it told him that it In fact is the same coat. Smh.... It's like it didn't even get cleaned, it's not as dark as it was when I brought it in, and it was full of lent... I'm disappointed because good money was paid for it. Easy process & fairly quick service. Brought in a few blazers to be dry cleaned and was ready at 5pm the following day. To be honest, I am not exactly sure how much dry cleaning services are (first timer), but I was expecting much less. My 6 blazers came out to $50. Finding a good dry cleaners in Houston has been a challenge for me. They are either too expensive. Too sloppy. Tear off buttons. Lose clothing. Or stain, yes, stain further my clothing. I am now trying my 4th dry cleaning establishment since the one prior was actually quite wonderful, but high rent kicked them out of their domicile. Sad. So, I did a yelp search and found Clean Smart. It had reputable reviews from people I know and trust. I've been to this establishment twice now, and I have been pleased each time! They have reasonable prices, they always live up to their promise of when they will be done with your clothing, and customer service is top notch - even when they are super busy! I needed a dress of mine dry cleaned. So I took my clothes to this location. They were real careful in removing the stains and making sure the fabric was straightened. I can say to avoid Clean Smart. I dropped my items off on Monday morning, and they said they would be completed by Tuesday evening. When I went Wednesday morning they said they were not complete. This can be understandable if it hadn't been for what happened later. They ended up pulling half of my order. They made me pay in full for both alterations and the cleaning. So I came back 2 weeks later because I have been on vacation between. They told me I hadn't paid for the alterations. I became frustrated in the store because I had already paid, but at this point did not have my receipt. They told me I need to have manners. read more

If I could give them a 0 I would. They ruined my shirt completely, never apologized, refused to pay me back for the shirt. They did offer a $30 credit for what? I'm not going back there obviously. Not only did they ruin my shirt they said it would be done in 1 day but wasn't done until 4 days after. It was the absolute worst experience with a dry cleaner I've had!!!! I took 6 coats here for dry cleaning with a next day pickup. 4 out of the six were not dry cleaned meaning they had only been steamed while they COMPLETELY ripped a very expensive one. I pointed out the dirty ones and that they smelled when I was picking up my dry cleaning and the unhelpful front desk girl was pretending she couldn't see that it was completely dirty still. The cleaning services were fine, no problems there. The problem was being charged a surplus for an environmental impact fee assessed on the business by either the city or the state, don't know or can't remember. What is not fair is if the fee is a flat rate to each customer rather than prorated based on the amount of items being cleaned. I think they should be up front with that information or explain how it is calculated on each bill. I don't think it's fair to me having one item cleaned to be charged the same as someone bringing in 10 items, would you? I recommend you ask before you leave your items rather than be surprised at time of pickup. read more

This won't be a long horror dry cleaning story, but it still irks me. I came to get my things and noticed that the 3 leather buckles from my trench coat were all ruined (leather turned inside out is how I could best explain it. Regretting not taking pictures). The worker told me, "It happens all the time". She finally asked for the manager to come and he said they will replace my buckles for free. I still had to pay full price for the dry cleaning part. A month later... I called to check to see if it was ready and it was. I now have 2 different types of buckles - 2 cheap plastic and not sure what the other one is. Now I have to spend even more money to buy new buckles and redo the stitchings. I wouldn't take any expensive clothes here if I were you. read more

I'm a bit overdue for an update on this place. Trying to find a decent dry cleaner in a huge city like Houston is near impossible. Whether it is poor quality, bad service, broken buttons, inconsistency with drop off/pick up...it is just tough out there. Clean Smart has been a bright spot for me for dry cleaning service. They are consistent. They have "better than most" quality. And for the most part when they tell you your stuff will be ready at a certain time and date, it is. Instead of one person checking your clothes in, there are three stations. It's a clean space with coffee and candy, with a view into where they clean the clothes. The lady that checked in my clothes for the first time was very friendly, and had my buttons replaced from the previous place for free, and said "you'll be very happy with us!" She was right! Excellent! I came to clean smart to clean a vintage bomber jacket that belonged to my aunt when she was a Derrick Doll. The jacket is 30+ years old and was stained and grayed. I didn't have a lot of hope but after reading great reviews I stopped by. For an insanely inexpensive fee (less than $6), the jacket is sparkling new. It's a clean bright white-- you'd never know a stain had touched it, much less that it sat stained for decades. Highly, highly recommend! read more

Been going to Clean Smart for several months now, and prefer their services so much that I continue to go to them even though they are now out of my way. A little over a month ago, I was thinking about going elsewhere nearby, then one week when I was picking up some shirts, I noticed they had given me someone else's shirt. They immediately brought over the manager, took my ticket and took me to the side room. The manager then pulled up the CCT video of me dropping of the shirts the previous day so I could point out the missing shirt. He apologized, went back and returned 10 minutes later with my missing shirt, and pointed to the bar code they attach to every shirt that they used to find my shirt. They apologized for the inconvenience and refused to let me pay for my week's dry cleaning. I've dealt with dry cleaners losing items and usually it's a hassle and an argument and doesn't always end with me getting my clothes back. To me, it's almost inevitable that every so often this will happen, but the fact that they were so professional about it, non confrontational, AND are using video and barcoding to minimize this from happening and take the arguing out of these kinds of issues is very comforting. I've been taking my clothes here for the last five years and haven't had any issues. The buttons on my dress shirts get damaged but my understanding is that this happens in the laundering process. Do not bring your dry cleaning here! I was promised a turn around time of 3 days, however, it is now 11 days later and they have still yet to clean my pieces because "they forgot". Each time I've tried to pick up my pieces, they promise it will be ready the next morning. But each time I come to retrieve my pieces at such promised time, they tell me it will be ready the next day. They have continuously lied and should not be trusted with any pieces you care about. read more

They DESTROYED my expensive Pottery Barn comforter. I am livid! One side of the comforter is a cotton/ linen blend, and the other side is a silky/ satin material. The silky side is absolutely ruined. The fabric is ripped and pulling EVERYWHERE (pictures attached)! I'm so upset. This is not the first time they've ruined something of mine. Last year they destroyed the leather on one of my dresses (picture attached). They did fix it for free, so I decided to give them another chance, which was a huge mistake.
