So recently, we hired these guys to help us move since they seemed witty and pretty genuine. What a mistake! Bottom line: they were not careful with our things and caused hundreds of dollars in damage. We discovered quite a few damaged boxed but the coup de resistance was a smashed 40" television. When we called to point this out they said "too bad" and that it's all part of the risk of hiring movers! When we tried to argue with them they had the audacity to suggest that we smashed our TV before the move and planned to frame the movers for damage all along! As a final word of warning against us, they said that if we try to take them to small claims court it would be their word versus ours and there are more of them than us so good luck! When we dug a little deeper, it became clear that these guys are neither a legitimate business nor are they insured - which means when they damage something, they wash their hands and walk! Plus, we noticed that in the fine print of their contract they claim that they are not responsible for damages - in particular televisions, which suggests that they have a track record of breaking electronics. If you value your things, don't hire these guys. Get some reputable movers.

I called again on Thursday and his voice mailbox was full and was not accepting any more messages. I emailed him again to CANCEL the truck and had to scramble to find another van and some help for my move this morning. Quite a disappointment to say the least. Not very dependable! Good news is that I ended up paying $100 less than what I was quoted by this company for a van and 2 men. So, this worked out for the best. They gave me a quote, and we agreed that my belongings would arrive within 4 days. However, they were 3 days late. Each day that passed, I became more concerned, and I had to pay for another hotel night, which in Toronto was around $200 + tax per night for the cheapest option. Every time I called after the agreed-upon delivery date, they gave me an excuse. First, they apologized because the truck had broken down, then they didn't call when they said they would. I became increasingly worried about my belongings. After an additional 3 days of waiting, my things finally arrived. However, before unloading everything, they charged me double the amount that was initially agreed upon. I was almost in tears from the shock. When I asked to speak to someone, the person I spoke to wasn't Jack, but a rude guy with an Indian accent, who arrogantly told me that there was an overweight charge I had to pay if I wanted to see my belongings again. When I questioned why I had to pay double the agreed amount, he told me it wasn't his problem and that he would place my things in storage, charging me daily fees until I paid. That's when I realized it was a scam, and they had my belongings on their truck, holding them hostage to defraud me. I paid, feeling terrible, and later I discovered that there is an association of certified movers, which specifically talks about these kinds of scams and illegal actions. What this company did is described as illegal by the association. Please, this happened two years ago--do not trust this company.

They did their due diligence with the quote: they asked for photos and detailed descriptions for what we had to move. They were responsive and gave us great information on how to make the move as efficient as possible. The day of the move, we got to two awesome people helping us. They were in time and they were quick to start and do the move. They also took great care of all of our items and made sure everything was wrapped up or properly dealt with prior to moving. They were quick, efficient, and nice to talk to. They also wore masks during the move. They even finished earlier than estimated, which meant we paid less than what we were quoted for. Payment was easily done through e-transfer.
