My girls are begging for anchor wings nightly, the 9yo loves their retrial and the 7yo loves the jerk, I personally love the honey siracha and babe alert ranch. Now the honey siracha, it's listed as like the one of the hottest, no sir it's barely spicy at all, I still love it but just saying. Wait staff is always awesome, friendly and super helpful. Only complaint is we saw they have .99c wings on Tuesdays, it says limit 10, which was perfect for the girls and I since we can't eat more than 6. The waiter said it's a misprint and supposed to say 10 minimum. That was frustrating and sad because we would go every Tuesday if we could order less, 10 is way too much for all 3 of us and all 3 like different flavors so sharing won't work either. Love the hand cleaning station, although it looks like it could use a cleaning itself lol. But 5 stars because yesssss, the food and the service are so good. Wait one more complaint, sorry! The skillet cookie, way too expensive for what you get AND the skillet is tiny it's impossible to eat without getting burned. We loaded up or big goofy canine to give this place a try. Nothing went terribly wrong, but nothing was quite right either. Now, I'm sure it's great to have an air conditioned space for us dog people in the summer months, but it's a small space with bad acoustics that ultimately made our furbaby fairly anxious. I ordered 10 traditional wings (all drums) at a cost of $19 and what do I get... at least 5 out of 10 chicken wing drumsticks that are the size of my pinky finger. It's a great option if you want some wings but don't want them to be your full meal. The garlic ranch dry rub had great flavor! I'd order these again. Went out to this place on a recommendation that they had great wings. We had both some of the traditional and boneless wings and both were awesome, great portion size and the buffalo lemon pepper is definitely a standout flavor! Jess R took care of us this evening and when it started getting busy, she still found time to give us some amazing drink recommendations (the blood orange marg with the grand mariner floater had my partner raving about it on the drive home) and have good banter with us. She definitely is a standout waitress in the best way; personable, quick, but knows how to make you feel at home. Anchor bar has the best bar food! I very rarely crave American food so when I do this is a go to spot. We shared the sampler platter which had pizza egg rolls, mozzarella sticks, mac and cheese bites, and fried pickles. Everything on it was super good!! Tangy, tart, spicy, garlic everything you want in a wing flavor. The dry parmesan wing sauce, it seemed the longer the wing sat, the better the flavor got. The parmesan dry rub is better than: Pluckers Buffalo Wild Wings Wings n rings Hurricane Wing Bar down the street in Round Rock Cover 2-3-4-5-6-10 all of them Hands down the best parmesan sauce. Tots n fries were crispy and soft inside. The crispy fried pickles were good but not that great, it seems a little under cooked since inside was a little mushy and the pickle wasn't thick enough. The pretzel bites hands down sucked, I asked our amazing server to replace them, they still came out after the 2nd time, dull. The bites were hot on the outside but cold inside. They have some quality wings because their wings are meaty, crispy, and comes out fresh and hot. There are many wing flavor options but our favorite are the dry rubs. Also, the pizzas are amazing! We first visited Anchor Bar last year during UT softball season. It is softball season again, and we came back. The location is perfect and not far from our hotel. Would've been about $80 but we sent back the uneaten salad and jerkless wings. Mac and cheese balls seemed like Kraft but weren't terrible just not worth it. Caesar was just not good.
