    Meatballs
    Courtney B.

My partner and I came here in February for date night. When we arrived, seating was pretty limited, so I ended up on this random stool they pulled from the back and placed at the end of the bar. Not ideal, but we rolled with it. What stood out immediately was the staffing setup: three bartenders behind the bar, but only one server covering the entire floor. So service moved at a crawl. Not because the server wasn't trying -- he was hustling -- but the structure itself made everything slower than it needed to be. We ordered mixed drinks and the meatballs, and honestly, the meatballs were the highlight of the night. Three perfectly baked meatballs sitting in marinara, topped with mozzarella and parsley. They were juicy, tender, and seasoned the way a good pub‑style meatball should be. A lot of places overwork their meatballs or pack them so tight they turn into little cannonballs. These weren't that. They had the right texture -- soft but not mushy -- and enough seasoning to stand on their own without relying on the sauce to save them. The marinara was surprisingly good too. It had that slow‑simmered sweetness with a little acidity, not the metallic, straight‑from‑a‑can taste you sometimes get at sports‑bar‑type places. The melted mozzarella on top gave it that cozy, comfort‑food finish that pairs perfectly with a mixed drink. Drinks were fine -- nothing fancy, nothing bad -- just standard bar cocktails. Overall, The Dugout has potential, especially if you're coming for a casual night out. The food has bright spots (those meatballs are legit), but the service setup needs some rebalancing so guests aren't waiting forever while three bartenders stand behind the bar. I'd come back, but probably not during peak hours unless I'm prepared to sit on another mystery stool. #supportlocal

We stopped in here randomly for a night to watch the spurs game. When we came it was packed! Definitely a place many people come. It was hard to get our order in and didn't help that a football game was on too. I'd come back to try their food next time. We were in and out in 20 minutes.

So so excited that this place opened up! We have already came twice to eat here. We got the buffalo dip as an app and it was delicious and hot! Lots of cheese too. I absolutely love Italian beef's and had to try it. I asked for it dipped with spicy giardiniera. It's making my mouth water as I type, it was bomb. The beer is nice and cold too, lots of people came in to watch the games go on while we ate. The Dugout is such a great spot for good food and a chill place to drink a beer/catch a game. The staff is friendly too!

This new local bar popped up in October 2025, which was formally known as Warpath. One thing that drew me here was their Chicago style menu and the fact that it's a sports bar. You can get a good Italian beef, hotdog, pizza, burger and wings from their extensive menu. You can sit on the bar side and watch one of seven flat screens or on the pool table side where there are four more screens and lots of seating. Lots of craft beers on tap and a full bar. The photos below include some, but not all of their menu pages. A great neighborhood bar that has plenty of parking out front and in back with a couple of pic nic tables sitting outside. I decided to get their Chicago hotdog to go. For $10 it was a good deal and it came with some excellent home fries, but no poppyseed bun. It's definitely a great bar to grab a beer and lunch at. Check out the photos and video below to get you through the door.

75cent wings on Monday night cannot be beat! We got some wings and the Yankee Showdown pizza. The double crust was excellent. The cheese pulls were on point. Will definitely be going back.

New hidden gem alert! Chicago has never been so close with this place. Not often do you get homemade food from a sweet little bar atmosphere. Chicago dog and wings were phenomenal, plus great fries and onion rings, cant go wrong! We will definitely be back! (Kids food and games in the back are awesome too)

If you have a craving for Indian, but in a quick pizza type bite, this is the place. Service was friendly and efficient. Smallest size, 10", was enough for a generous lunch. Pizza crust was good and tasty, nice crunch, along with a good chewy crust. Service was order at the counter, and they bring it out when done. Interior is very simple, but fine for an informal lunch. Added bonus of South Asian music items on play on the big screen, instead of the ubiquitous sportsball du jour. The ones playing when we were in there were from Telugu cinema, which we appreciated as our taste in Indian cinema has expanded greatly over the years from Hindi language movies. Lots of choices on the menu, will have to work through the list in months to come!

Our server was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the place has a cool little vibe that feels relaxed but still energetic. We got there around 11:00, and by 11:15 or 11:20 the place was already lively and noisy, which honestly tells you people know where the good pizza is. I had the House salad with Caesar dressing, and it was fresh and loaded with tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, mushrooms, black olives, mozzarella, and crunchy garlic croutons. For pizza, I ordered the City Pie, and those toppings were giving -- pepperoni, Italian sausage, spinach, mushrooms, onions, black olives, and bell peppers. I'm not usually a huge fan of super thin crust pizza, but this one worked because the toppings and flavor carried every bite. The girls ordered the Queen Margherita, and it looked just as good as it sounds with fresh mozzarella, Roma tomatoes, Parmesan-Reggiano, and basil. We also tried one of the house sodas, and it was really, really good. Everything paired together perfectly. Definitely a spot I'd go back to again.

I may visit Obsidian Brewery time after time after time after time and never find out how their beer is. This is because a) They have an outstanding bar and b) They have an outstanding kitchen. For me, beer is a hardship beverage you drink when there is nothing else better available. When I go to a bar, I can sometimes be looking for mix-mastering. Usually I am looking for outstanding top of the line hard spirits. * * * When I walked into Obsidian, I looked at their bar. It was love at first sight. In front of me were twenty yards of three shelves of the most wonderful bottles I could possibly imagine. Half of them I had never heard of before. * * * I settled on a Buddha's Hand Gin. Buddha and Gin rarely appear in the same sentence Never mind the same label on a bottle. I ordered it straight up. I went immediately to Nirvana. Forget the meditation and the austerities. The Buddha's Hand Gin was as good as a trip to the Himalayas. Buddha's Hand is an obscure citrus fruit that grows multiple protuberances the way some horseradishes do. It is golden and looks like a hand. Ergo the name. The Buddha's Hand Gin is a citrus tinged gin with an edge more like orange zest than like orange juice. The additional botanicals make it strong, attention grabbing, fruity and yet combative. I was absolutely fascinated. Note that Buddha's Hand Gin is only one of the many items they have to explore there. I am totally ready to do more exploring. * * * The kitchen at Obsidian is also of distinction. The savvy local guide I came with adored his Thai Curry Wood Fired Rings. I went with a Cheesy Bread. This is open-faced grilled cheese on a thick slice of bread the size of a shoebox, with a wonderful homemade tomato sauce on about 1/3 of it. It is the best cheese pizza you have ever had. It is what cheese pizza is supposed to be if you don't use the standard canned ingredients that institutional providers sell to Domino's. I was as in love with my cheese bread as I was with my citrus gin. * * * The company was also outstanding. Which is just as well because Obsidian is a social place. Lots of Leanderthals having a fine time in couples and groups. This is not a loner's loser bar. You know - the dark rooms with misfits drinking their sixth beer while watching TV. This is a good folks good times full-of-sunlight place. So you definitely want to come with good folks. * * * Good food, good bottles, good people.
