This is probably one of the WORST places I have ever stayed at. There was hair in the bath tub, stains (I don't even want to imagine what kind) on the bedsheets, and plumbing issues. The sink in the bathroom was clogged! So freaking nasty! I had to sleep on the chair because I couldn't bring myself to even sit on the bed. One person even said they got Covid from staying there. Staff was very kind and accommodating and willing to give us an immediate refund. The photos advertising this room on booking.com were very misleading and manipulative. The staff even admitted to my boyfriend and I that the photos had been edited to look better than what they were. They made the rooms look up to date and clean. We spent maybe 3 minutes in the room before we turned around and left. The room is extremely small. The shower is stained brown/yellow and whatever fake plastic lining on the side was pealing up. Amazing underrated hotel. My husband and I enjoyed our stay. They are very accommodating! Great location, inexpensive, tidy, and have a night service bell that's ACTUALLY effective and attentive. We checked in at 2am and they offered us late check out. We liked the room and location so much we have decided to stay another night. Gorgeous ceilings and a good sunset view from our room. Modern TV with HDMI and USB. Large bathroom, microwave and fridge. A good tip is walk four minutes down the street to Don's off 21st street and get breakfast/lunch/ice cream/pie. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! Before I booked I had read the reviews which weren't bad. I'm here to tell you this place is bad. It's old so I expected it to be a little run down but our room was very run down. Let me start with the carpet since it's the first thing you see. There were huge black stains as if someone stepped in oil and walked all around the room. Our room had two queens and a sofa. As soon as I sat down on the sofa I sunk into a the old cushions and got a big whiff of smelly dog! Supposedly pets are not allowed and the desk clerk made a big deal out of it when I checked in. I don't own a dog or any pet for that matter and I sure don't want smell somebody else's stinky dog. My husband is allergic to dog dander and had sneezing fits all night. One of the chairs in the room collapsed after my husband sat i. It. He called the desk clerk but she seemed more concerned about her chair than him! The mattress sunk in and all night I was trying to keep from sliding in that sink hole. The bathroom is the worst of all. There is no exhaust fan to keep the moisture and smells away. Going #2? You better open up the front door cuz that's the only way the smell will dissipate. The same goes for the moisture after you shower. There are mold spores on the ceiling above the shower. The linoleum floor is ancient and filthy and the bathroom door is chipped and water stained as if the bathroom had flooded. I have sympathy for the owners, obviously they can't afford to make the necessary renovations but I want comfort and cleanliness when I book a stay anywhere. It doesn't have to be a new hotel but it does have to be clean with a good bed. Unfortunately the Anchor Bay Inn didn't meet even those minimal standards. read more

Not bad at all for a brief overnight stay in August 2023. The walls of the room do look old but inside they are newly refurbished. Staff was friendly and helped us through kind of a late check-in at ~8-9pm. Many restaurant options nearby within a 3-4 min drive. read more

Extremely friendly staff. Fairly good cleaning on the room. We had enough hot water for three morning showers but it would periodically change to super cold or randomly hot. The parking lot was full with lots of coming and going but barely any neighbor noises through the walls. The heating is outdated but worked well. Two people in our group vape and were told they had to go in the alley behind the pool or they would be asked to leave. I believe there could have been a more tactful way of handling it. The way they operate is shameful. The hotel is old and the amenities reflect that. The main things being the bathtub knobs are busted and the toilet leaks. But, they also clearly don't clean thoroughly because we had no toilet paper and we found someone's vape under the bed. They will only provide you the number of towels you dirty. We are a party of five and only got three and he only gave me three to replace the three used. What's worse is he asked me not to return them as dirty as one was "because stains are hard to get out." I'm on my period and needed to clean up. Obviously. He promptly told me to "use something else." He also told me he would be charging us if the stains don't come out. In another review which I unfortunately didn't read until after my own experience, they charged another couple $150 for "damage" to a towel from removing makeup. Basically, they will charge you for being human and can't even clean their own rooms. I feel dirty and ashamed and I am furious about how he responded. Finally, he is refusing to give me his boss' number. There are plenty of cheap hotels closer to the beach which I highly recommend. We only went with this one as our trip was spontaneous and the last remaining affordable dog-friendly places. read more

Wish I could give a zero star. Had a reservation booked for a month, even called last week and asked about my reservation and how late I could check in. Worked all day then drove 4 hours to get here and the guy in the office doesn't even open the door, just the window, says he doesn't speak english and isn't taking reservations. I showed him my email that said I already had a reservation booked for a month, he just shrugs says "no manager, no English" and closes the window in my face. Completely dumbfounded. What are you even doing here if you are useless? Don't even bother trying to make a reservation here, it will not be honored. read more

This hotel cost $150. Bathroom was filthy with dirty faucet and toothpaste in the sink. The toilet is dirty as well. There was no air conditioning or a fan to bring in outside air. Room and bathroom are hot and stuffy and had to rig a fan placed in front of an open window to bring in fresh air. You can't leave the window open at night as it is right on Main Street. The key wouldn't open the door and the desk clerk had to jerk the door to get in. Don't stay here it's not worth your money. read more

I have to vent this, I have a personal friend that is a disabled partial amputy homeless vet. He has been dealing with veterans affairs for some time. He was finally put into the anchor bay inn in Reedsport by the veterans administration. His rent was payed and never behind. He recently had a turn for the worse with his health. So what happened, the motel denied the vets payment and kicked him out for being a fkn liability to there reputation if he passed in there room. So apparently they would rather him be homeless to save there 3 star reputation. He has been a close personal friend and now is living with me and my family. In todays turmoil, a business that would rather put a vet out on the street should not receive any business from anyone. Again this is the anchor Bay Inn on main street 101 in Reedsport. Plugged in curling iron in bathroom outlet while I blow-dried my hair in the bedroom. Rates standard for the area. Eat breakfast elsewhere. So, we were driving around for HOURS (5) looking for a hotel that was affordable and OPEN (after 10pm-3am) It's currently spring break and everyone was PACKED or closed or rude (Best Western) and pricy. We were about to sleep in the car! Little tiny hybrid. We rolled into the office parking and rang the night bell expecting someone to not answer again. To our suprise almost immediately a cheerful man came to the door. Checked us in with a rate of $58 (when other hotels we're offering $80-up. I thought "wow this will be a shit hole." Because of the price. It's actually VERY nice. Big bathroom, good room size, a TV with HDMI and USB plugs. Ways a bonus because I could charge my phone with the TV. The people who say there are few outkest probably didn't notice there are some on the both sides of the bed. Please support hotels like this. Stayed there for 1 night this past weekend, we booked and paid in advance on hotels.com. Upon check in I presented the man with my card so he could charge me the pet fee because we had our dog with us, he ran the card and on the little pin pad I put in my pin number then it asked if the amount was correct and it was just a pet fee I hit yes got our room keys and we went on about our day. Came home the following day and I had 2 charges on my account the pet fee that I authorized and a $150 charge that was pending from them. We travel often and I assumed this was just one of them charges where they put a hold on your card and it falls off if there is no damages but I was never informed of a deposit. Well it never fell off it actually cleared in my account. I called them today and asked about it and I was informed that they charged me a $150 flat rate fee, I asked what was damaged and the bold excuse he had the nerve to give me was that there was a used washcloth in the bathroom that had black smears all over it a washcloth that I had to go and actually ask for because there was no towels or anything in my room upon checkin and then when I let them know there was no towels they questioned me as if I was lying and then lady who got my towels proceeded to tell me that her coworker said that he put towels in the room um no he didn't come look for yourself. Oh and after the gentleman on the phone informed me I was being charges for a stained washcloth he went on to add that they took pictures of said washcloth. Yes they took a picture of a dirty washcloth, and I know you are all dying to know what black substance stained a washcloth so bad that it was worthy of being charged $150.... well it was my teenage daughters mascara and liquid eyeliner that she washed off of her face before bed! There you have it, I contacted my bank today and well I had to go through a whole big ordeal of canceling my old card getting a new one and now I have to switch over all of my automatic payments to my new card because my credit union rep said that once the charge is reversed by them there is nothing stopping them from "fraudulently charging my card again" because they have already done it once. And yes those were her words she said it happens more than people know which is why the charge is being reversed instantly.... so sorry about the long post but yeah I don't recommed that you stay here unless you want your card fraudulently charged for using their golden washrags that you have to beg for to begin with! Oh and the rooms are a bit drab the people upstairs from us were very loud and the ice machine was broken but all of that was actually overlooked because the price was right until they charged me to use a washrag! read more
