Definitely wouldn't recommend this course! I used to play D1 golf and have been encouraging my wife to get into golf. She took lessons all last year and then again in spring. Going on the course was always so intimidating for her so she just did lessons with the golf pro there Blake Smith and went to the range. She finally said she wanted to go and then there happened to be the player assistant from hell. We teed off at 4:20. We were hounded on every hole up to the 6th to play faster or best ball. I have played so many rounds in my life and thought we were playing super fast. I looked at the clock and it was 5:30. We had played 6 holes in 1:10. Pretty fast! The lady just saw she was hitting it 125 yards and assumed we were slow and so she needed to constantly complain. We were on the 9th hole and the new player assistant had just taken his shift, Danny. He looked down at his clipboard and noticed the time we were at and said you're on an awesome pace. I then said you should tell the other lady that because she was so constant on us that she made my wife cry on hole 3 because she didn't know any different! Danny did encourage her and make her feel better but it's terrible that I've tried so hard to push my wife to play and there are terrible employees out there like this. Anchorage golf course 6/12/14 I feel the course is in great shape considering the short season Alaska has for getting a course to a playable condition. The greens will improve with time, but they are certainly playable. I've seen a lot worse in the lower 48. The staff has obviously taken great measures to get the course in shape. Excellent fairways and rough. Extremely enjoyable pace of play. Professional and courteous staff. If I make it back before summer ends, this will be top of my list to play again. read more

Payed 75$ to play this course on memorial weekend. we had a tea time set, however according to staff you only have 15min a hole which can be frustrating when you have new players that have never hit a ball with you. We were there for an hour and a half and kept getting pushed up a hole cause we were too slow. Again we had brand new players that we were trying to teach, one of the employees pushed us up hole after hole and would not leave us alone. The employee stalked our game and came by every 2-3min to tell us to hurry up we need to be faster or we're getting kicked off the course. I eventually called the director of the course considering i payed an outrageous amount to play 18 holes, after about an hour and a half i just stopped playing since we were on hole 13 and i only got to play the first 3 holes cause we kept getting moved. End of the day i do not recommend this golf course to anyone, the staff is rude and expect you to be a professional player, the director is no help either he told us he doesn't care about the money we payed or that we wanna teach new players he didn't care and just wanted us off the course since we wanna be slow. read more

Played the back nine this morning and it was so much fun! It's a beautiful course and the staff is very friendly. It's a short course so walking is no problem with a push cart. I can't wait to play this course again. Maintenance staff does a great job with keeping up the entire course. read more

Short course from from the blue tees (6200 and change)but awesome layout makes it's challenging if your playing for the first time. Bunkers in great shape and greens treated me well but a bit slow. Nice to have the course open this early in the year. It's in descent shape, better than expected, and should be pretty nice come June. The staff is still busy getting things ready but Tom was on top of helping to get me and hitting on the course. Temp greens always suck but it's nice being out and hitting balls into the woods. That never change, unfortunately. But, any day golfing is a good day!!! read more

Great staff in the purchasing and bar area. Nice store inside with reasonable pricing. They even offered a great price for replacing our putter grip. Beautiful views and well kept range in general. They also offer classes if interested. I haven't attended a class just yet but will be looking into it when spring comes back around. read more

Remember, it's Anchorage. I can only imagine trying to maintain a course that is covered in snow for 2/3 of the year. That being said, the layout is moderately challenging. Lots of tree lined fairways, more dog-legs than I am comfortable with, some sand and only a little water. Its by no means long, although my buddy says playing from the tips will give you a bit more of a run. Fairways are clean and easy to hit. The problem here, as is echoed everywhere one tries to play in Alaska is the greens. I think its just too tough to really smooth them out and get them cut appropriately. I don't fault the staff, its just the truth. All in all, I will continue to play the course for the practice and prep for golf trips to the lower 48. $27 for nine and $41 for 18 is a bit steep for residents, however. Maybe an earlier twi-light or a better deal is in the future. read more

We easily scheduled nun holes with a cart for three of us. We played horribly slow because we were unfamiliar with the course. We let four teams play through. The course is very beautiful. Very rolling hills type course. You can almost never see the pin from the tee. It rained for the first thirty minutes of play lightly but then cleared off and was stunning. Prepare for a challenging but visually appealing play. The grounds were in spectacular condition. Greens were very slow because of the rain but fairways were nicely groomed. Recommended. read more

Over priced, SLOW! The rate of play is so backed up and the Marshall's don't do anything to speed up the course. The greens are terrible. The people are the least friendly of all the golf courses I have played in Alaska. IT IS NOT worth the money to play at this course. Moose run is a much better course with good prices, kind people and two beautiful courses. read more

For Alaska, this is as good as it gets. The greens and grounds are well-kept, and the clubhouse facilities are nice! The beer and snack cart comes by often, and the Czech gal who drives it is pretty cute and friendly. I came for a company golf outing, and the buffet dinner was pretty good. read more

This is a tight course that can be unnecessarily punitive at times. Short and straight plays better here. There are few risks worth the reward. The Good: The Super is doing a fantastic job here. There have been vast improvements both in the conditions of fairways and greens and in keeping the under brush down alongside the fairways down. Next, I have nothing but praise for instructor Sam Bomar. How he got my wife into golf is beyond me. And given the generous women's tee boxes, my wife out drives me on several holes after one year of lessons. The Bad: First, do not ever play this course within two hours of a tournament. Management does not know how to move a tournament or leave sufficient time after a tournament to compensate for their incompetence. Second, if at any time you come upon slow players, do not ask or expect the Marshals do anything about it. I suggest you pick up your ball and go straight to the Pro Shop and ask for your money back. It will save you frustration and possibly send a message that they need to educate players about how they can speed up. Hell, hospitals have specialists who educate upon how to breast feed. Why can't we have instructors on the course teaching pokes how to speed up? Finally, the tee boxes still stink and there are quite a few bunkers that need a medic or bulldozer. read more

Was at a wedding that rented the bar. Bartender was terrible and picky. I wouldn't recommend to anyone who wants an event here

What a nice outing! My Team and I took part in the annual RE/MAX Dynamic Properties Golf Tournament and did very well. This is a great course in the local area that is challenging yet fun. The grounds are well kept and the greens are quite fast. It started to rain towards the end of our game, but that didn't hold us back. It was a nice time to enjoy the outdoors and compete. The Clubhouse is well-kept and has great food. The drink cart comes by quite often throughout your round and it just makes for a wonderful experience. I would recommend getting out and playing a round as you will not be disappointed. read more
