I called David at Full curl Archery and he was super helpful. I told the bow I wanted and he said he would get it all set up and ready for me. I got there a few days later, and just like he said it was all ready to go. Super helpful and very friendly, knew a lot about archery and the correct set ups to use for every hunt! read more

I took a BOW archery 101 course here through fish and game. I absolutely fell in love with the archery course and ended up visiting the store again to buy a bow for myself. The most friendly owners. I ended up joining an archery league through FCA once a week for 9 weeks. It was a really fun time and I looked forward to every Wednesday coming to the shop to shoot in league. Everyone was super friendly and gave me lots of advice and pointers. I totally recommend FCA for a new person getting into archery, or wanting to get into archery. Very welcoming environment and not intimidating at all. So happy I found this place! read more

I'm never going back I was shooting when I overheard a young man talking on the phone sounded like he was former military since he kept using rank. They tried to give him his bow when he stated that what they gave him was not a piece of his equipment. When they were called out they started speaking badly about him and his equipment all while he was talking on the phone. Talk about unprofessional and rude, one thing is for sure in my time in the military deployed to the mid east I learned perception is reality and that was telling me that these guys were 1. trying to pick a fight and 2. upset that they got caught while trying to steal from the young man. read more

New to archery with a gifted bow in my possession, I decide to go to Full Curl (on the recommendation from a friend) to adjust draw length, peep sight and cut some arrows. The staff at FCA are very knowledgable, that much is clear. However, they are lacking in true customer service. The staff immediately greeted me when I walked in the door. I explained my situation, being a new archer with a new-to-me bow that needed tuning, to which they had me get my bow and start sizing me up. I thought they did a great job when I walked out the door $75 later, but come to find out they incorrectly sized me for draw length. As a novice archer I had poor form, which the employee neglected to correct when getting my draw length set. After discovering that my bow was not a good fit for me (partly discovered through several impacts of the bow string to my forearm), I visited another archery shop. There, one of the employees had me fire several arrows and made continual tweaks to the bow so that it was a good fit for me. He dedicated one hour to make sure I was set. That is customer service. FCA is a great place to go if you have a background in archery (good selection of products, knowledgable staff, what looked like decent prices), but I would not recommend to anyone that needs to be coached in any regard. Just my experience, and perhaps I visited on a bad day. Just simply not worth the long drive to the shop and a waste of $75. EDIT (one week later): I had no idea, but Full Curl Offers a one month trial for their modifications to their bow. I assume that if it does not meet customer expectations then you can readjust free of charge. No one from the shop mentioned it to me, but instead I got an email from them this week saying I was nearing the one month mark of my visit. Would have been great to know on Day 0 so I could have come back in to readjust, but I am happy going to my new archery shop. read more

Awesome shop! Ive had a hard time finding the new bow i wanted and they had a whole wall of them. They set my new bow up super fast and it was shooting dimes from the start. They were more than helpful and just a great attitude in the shop. Thanks guys read more

I showed up and the employee immediately started helping correct some of the deficiencies the other bow shop made on my equipment. Bottom line, I am new to archery and Screaming Eagle actually took the time to coach me through my stance, draw and where the bow should sit in my hands. We were able to adjust the draw length accordingly then make some minor tweaks to my stance and correct some of the issues. The employee showed genuine care and concern in assisting me, knowing that I'd never enjoy archery if I kept hitting my forearm on release. My impression is that the employees at Screaming Eagle not only care about the customer, but the sport as a whole - knowing that they'd rather have another avid archer than to have one with the tools and equipment, but with no desire to shoot. Screaming Eagle has my business from this point forward!

I have to say....because of the poor customer service at Bass Pro Shop my halibut fishing charter…read moreis being cancelled for tomorrow. I received a call from the charter company that I was to go halibut fishing with on Friday in Ninilchik. The captain had to go to Bass Pro Shop in Anchorage to pick up a part or his motor but was certain we would still be good to go tomorrow. After picking up the part and returning to Ninilchik to replace the part it was discovered that the service tech had given the captain the wrong part. (7 hr round trip drive) The captain reached out to the parts dept and they said they had grabbed the wrong part off the shelf and had the right part. The captain then returned to Bass pro shop as they were going to leave the part in customer service for pick up. The captain arrived at Bass Pro Shop and the part was not left in customer service. (3 1/2 hr drive one way) Now the Charter for Friday had to be cancelled as he was going to have to pick the part up on Friday. This is very poor customer service. This is a VERY costly error. 10 1/2 hr trip.......no part, gas at $5 gallon loose a charter on top of it.......

If you are a fan then there's not a lot I can say that will give you new information, but that's not a bad thing. We needed to grab a jacket for my wife because, even though it was the middle of summer, we have lived in Las Vegas for several years now and AK summer is about the smae as the dead of winter in our new hometown. We were able to find her a jacket in the bargain cave to wear for our week there and probably won't wear much ever again. this made us grateful for the bargain cave price. The employees were very friendly and helpful and the whole asthetic was awesome, as always.

The "nice customer support person" told me I could go to Alaska to get it? WOW is all I have to say. I get that it was a clearance sale product, but if you advertise it, allow customer to purchase it, pay for it, you expect it to be shipped!!!

Estimated pickup was August 25. I had a trip to Anchorage planned for early September so it seemed like that was fine. August 25th came and went with no update. On the 28th I contacted customer support and they said the gun had arrived but wasn't ready to be picked up yet. My trip to Anchorage came and went. While there I stopped by the store but they said I couldn't pick it up yet... OK... Fine. I don't know when I'll be back to Anchorage, but whatever. Finally I got a notice on September 4th (11 days later than advertised) that my gun was ready for pickup. Well now I couldn't get to Anchorage for a bit. Should be fine right? They delayed me so they should be able to handle a delay from my end. I can't make it to Anchorage on the regular. I went to Anchorage today October 4th, to finally get my gun. I had multiple emails (the last from September 29th) saying my gun was ready for pickup. I go into the store and they couldn't find it. Then they told me that the order had automatically been cancelled because I didn't pick it up in time. They said I should have been automatically refunded. I hadn't. I also hadn't received any notice about this. I got a little heated and they threatened to kick me out of the store. Fine. I calmed down. I asked if the gun was there today. They said it was. I asked if I could buy it at the same price that I ordered it for (I ordered it on sale). They said they could not honor that. I walked out. I just got home from Anchorage and I double-checked my credit card and I still have not received a refund. They will be getting a charge-back from me as they have essentially ROBBED me at this point beyond wasting my time and being completely unhelpful in any way whatsoever. THIS STORE HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED AND I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN.

I probably spend more time at this park year round than any other park in Anchorage proper. It is…read moreconveniently connected to multiple trails and easy to access on foot from most of West Anch, Spenard, Northstar/Valley of the Moon, Midtown, and Downtown. If you've got a bike, you can connect from even further out very easily. As such, the Lagoon looks a lot like a Gilmore Girls community and is popular with people year round. There are frequently small sponsored events going on- the coolest of which involves ice skating in the winter. I personally love this park because it's a great place to bird watch. It's a fragile breeding ground for aquatic birds (take note dog owners - IT IS NOT OK TO LET YOUR DOGS OFF LEASH HERE OR LET THEM SWIM!) Red Neck Grebes are one if the more unusual arctic birds that breed here. The arctic terns also put on quite a show. Various loons and cranes also make an appearance, as well as some unique ducks. There's also an awesome playground and snack bar for the kiddies. A few years ago they also installed a bike counter that tracks the thousands that use the Tony Knowles at various intervals - it's fun to watch the numbers climb as the season goes on. There's also a free bike maintenance station here. Definitely a great location for lots and tourists alike, but parking is a problem, so carpool or better yet, use the trails!

They have private parking lots for you to park free of charge. It is located near downtown and is a welcomed break from the hustle and bustle of the city. It conveniently lies at the intersection of two of Anchorage's most popular trails, the Tony Knowles and Chester Creek trails. There were many runners traveling through while I was there, going through the two little tunnels that run under the road. You will find benches and picnic tables here to sit around the lake. This is home to lots, I mean lots, lots of waterfowl. They seemed aggressive, so I kept my distance. The disc golf course was nice but was covered in snow and mud. The lake is nice and during the winter is converted to an ice hockey/skating rink. My only complaint is that the park could be a little cleaner, even though part is that could be due to me visiting off-season. There were some maintenance guys there do some other stuff. The park is touted as a great place to bird watch in the spring and you can see other animals such as moose, beaver in the early morning or late evening, muskrats, foxes, otters, and minks, year-round, but it is rare. I did not see any of them. This nature park has a calming kind of peace to it, even though you hear the hum of cars on the nearby road. Just sitting on the bench looking out to the lake was so very soothing. If your schedule permits, I highly recommend visiting this place to just relax and recharge.

In the past I've only hit this trail to go to peak two for skiing, but recently went to Rabbit Lake on the most perfect day possible. Got great photos of the Suicides, waded in the lake, and wallowed on the grass. One regret is that I didn't get a pano shot. I'm like queen of the panos, what the heck? There were a few people tenting it, making it a perfect amateur backpacking adventure. Will come again and may pack a picnic.

After reading about Chugach guides we booked a hike with them. My parents never go hiking or trekking, neither does my wife!!! For them to enjoy this, was a big deal. Sudevi was on time and super cheerful. She is very knowledgable and kept the hike easy for most of the way keeping in mind that my sister just biked 4500 miles from Austin 2 days before. My mom is a botanist so she got to explore her flowers and plants, I like mountains so we got some nice shots. I would highly recommend Sudevi and her company. She was equipped with water and snacks, what else can you ask for.

He hiked us up to hidden lake, and then gave us the option to climb to the summit of The Ramp for the most breathtaking view. As a novice hiker, it was certainly a challenge, but the views at the top were spectacular. All in all, 13 miles round trip. Hiking poles, snacks and water were provided. Those poles saved my knees on the way back! I highly recommend this company. I felt I received great value.
