Visited Anchorage and did the 1 hour standard tour. The trolley pick up spot was central and easy to find. Our tour guide was alice and she was the absolute best. Highly recommended. She made the tour very entertaining with her songs and comedic performance.

Loved the stops on the tour. The deluxe is the best option as you're able to hop off to explore every stop. The guide unfortunately, spoiled the tour. Upon entering the bus, he immediately asked if we are Democrat or republican, made insufferable jokes about pro sports teams, the 48 states, continually boasted how Alaskans are nice and "will help if you're on the side of the road regardless of skin color." He wouldn't stop, my goodness. So much to the point I started avoiding him during stops because he kept interrupting my videos with commentary on how democrats don't own g*ns. Bad enough he offered to take a few photos of us and then I see his selfies in my camera roll.

It was an amazing experience and I learned so much about Anchorage. Our driver/guide, Caleb was very knowledgeable. I highly recommend for giet timers to Anchorage and eve repeat visitors if you haven't done it.

We had about 5 hours to kill between our cruise and our flight back home, so we booked the deluxe tour online (they also take walk-ups). It was a great tour of the city, and we got to see so many things (people fishing and catching salmon, earthquake park, a moose momma and baby, sea planes taking off and landing at Lake Hood). Our driver was very friendly and knowledgeable, and it turned out to be the perfect and quick way to see Anchorage.

We were only in Anchorage for a short time and the deluxe tour was a perfect fit. There were 4 hop off spots for pictures and a little walking around plus lots of info and points of interest shared on the driving in between. Ty was our guide and he was genuine and enthusiastic. He gladly served as photographer, kept us on track but never rushed the group. I was so hopeful to see a moose and his trained eyes saw one wayyyy across a field! He positioned and repositioned the trolley so everyone could have a good view. Thank you!!

It was a fabulous tour!! Prince took us to see many amazing things! He shared so much history with us as well. He even sang at the end. It was just amazing.

We did the 1 hour tour. It was fun and the guide was funny and knowledgeable. I would recommend it, but the price is a little steep for what it is. You don't do too far away from the starting point and it's not SUPER extensive, but still a good experience and gives you an introduction to the town.

The trolley is a way to learn the history of Anchorage. It was entertaining and let us see up close each of the areas discussed. We got off at Earthquake Park, saw the underground house, and where the private planes are parked on a lake. Personal stories were told of growing up in Anchorage. I highly recommend this tour. read more

This was a fun tour with lots of great information!!! Our guide was the BEST and took us on a very entertaining tour of the city. We were on the Deluxe Tour with Jodi and she was terrific, answering all of our questions. She is also a native of Anchorage. If you have time, this is a great way to spend time waiting for a ride to the airport after a cruise. Highly recommended! read more

Alice was a great guide! She was super funny and informative. The tour was about an hour and we saw a lot of the area without feeling rushed. My favorite part was seeing all the airplanes. We were able to pull over and watch a few take off/land on the water which was really cool!! I also loved Alice's little songs, they were super funny. read more

$20 for 45 minutes bus ride..... :( Not a hop on/hop off kind of bus tour. Just check out a few places in the city through the bus windows. Can't get off the bus to take any pictures at all..... Since the bus is always in motion, so can hardly take any pictures of the places we visit. The staff, James, and the bus driver are super friendly and knowledgeable. We love them! read more

We rode the Trolley in July, 2012. It was $15 each for 1 hour of Trolley Tour. Everything is expensive in Alaska so putting the cost in perspective--it was OK. Wish that it cost 10, but it's 15 and there are no AAA discounts. I asked. Would I recommend it? I guess, if you have not done an Anchorage Tour yet and have $15 each burning a hole in your pocket and an hour to burn. It was a basic, quick introduction to downtown. The tour guide spoke fast and was informative. For us, it was a way for 2 tired soles to rest their travel feet for an hour. I fell asleep for the first 20 minutes once the Trolley started rolling. And for surviving the Trolley Tour, we were rewarded with the Gold Coin Souvenir pictured above. We haven't had it appraised yet, but are hoping that it covers the cost of the tour. read more

We had a couple of hours to spare so we decided to take a trolley tour through Anchorage. The deluxe tour include four stops at interesting locations. But the best part of the tour was our guide, Isaac, who gave us a lot of interesting facts and history about the city. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of the questions by those on the trolley. I would highly recommend taking this tour as it is a great overview of Anchorage Alaska. read more

Completely worth your time if your new to Anchorage or Alaska in general. This tour went by quick as Alice went into detail about some of the more popular and historical spots in Anchorage. Speaking of Alice...wow what a gem!! She is an entertainer so be prepared for some hilarious and well sung songs. Truly I laughed so hard on this tour. read more

I'm visiting AK, and took the Deluxe City Tour to get a feel for Anchorage. I got Dave as my guide, and had a lot of fun! He's a local who shared some personal stories about his life during major events, and kept us entertained. Anchorage is so beautiful, that even the rain couldn't hide its beauty. Despite the city feel, it also has the refreshing areas of forests and lakes to give it all dimensions. You won't regret the trolley tour, I guarantee it. Try it out! read more

Fun little tour! Jenny did a great job! Learned some new things about Anchorage. It was particularly wet and rainy so it was hard to see out the windows, even with using the window squeegee, but no fault of the tour company. If you are stopping by Anchorage for a quick trip, I highly recommend hopping on this trolley ride around the city! I had Kris as my trolley driver/tour guide; he was amazing! His tour was very informative and he cracked a bunch of jokes to keep the ride fun and engaging. The tour is $20 for a 1-hour drive around the city (we went much further than I expected we'd go), and they give you a little coupon book for the stores around 4th. read more

My sister and I happened upon a gem in Anchorage- the red trolley. Alice was our guide. Alice is an actress she sang, told hilarious jokes and blew us away with her historical knowledge. Established in 1995.

Anchorage Trolley was born from a child's fascination with every child's favorite show and a father hoping to provide for his family. On May 4th, 1995 Anchorage Trolley began- first operating out of the historical 4th Avenue Theater, and then home in the Log Cabin Visitor Center on the corner 4th and F St. For 25 years, we have been showing visitors from all over the world why Anchorage is the most beloved city in Alaska and the highlight of our state. From history to local stories, we are proud to show visitors the highlights of life in the biggest city in Alaska. Anchorage Trolley is a family owned and operated company with a strong sense of community. In the last 25 years, we have employed dozens of fellow Alaskans as they worked their way through college, created a high school scholarship benefiting dozens of Alaskan students, and countless sponsorships in the community. We love our business and stand by our motto, "It's not just a tour- it's an EXPERIENCE!!"

Meet the Business Owner: Cyrus A.

I was born in Wasilla, Alaska in 1989. I started working for Anchorage City Trolley Tours when I was 7 year old. I officially took over the family company when I was 19. My father calls me his," ROI"-Return on Investment, it is a family joke. I love working for the trolley. I treat my customers like my family because when they have a good tour, I have a good tour. At Anchorage Trolley our number one goal is to make sure our customers have a great time and learn a little something too!.

I got the pork belly rice bowl at the Girdwood izakaya. A bit heavy on the salt, but overall an enjoyable meal. Love the blueberry kombucha at the brewery! V, our guide, was informative and helped take pictures of my family! They pick up and drop off at your hotel. Not too sure about the water bottles though. After you are done drinking the tap water, you have to return the bottles for them to recycle. Although they use a dishwasher, it seems a bit strange for me to share bottles with other people.

Booked the glacier full day trekking tour and had Billy as my guide and couldn't have had a better…read moreexperience! Everything about dealing with this company was a breeze! I booked the day before, the morning of the owner texted me to confirm that I would be picked up at my Airbnb, Billy texted me notifying me when he was on his way. He was kind, responsive, full of information, considerate, and willing to tailor the speed and details to the needs of the group. He truly made this trip enjoyable. Van ride to the glacier is about 100 miles, we stopped at a gas station about half way. We stopped twice for two photo opportunities, and then made our way to the glacier gift shop to sign waivers. Then drove down to the launch point of the trek. There are ample bathrooms down there. Billy did not accompany us on the glacier but that was okay, our guide at the glacier was super sweet and knowledgeable. I felt more than safe! You walk across a floating bridge to get your microspikes and then we spent about 2-2.5 hours trekking the glacier. You do spend most of the hike on the rocky surface, but we did a pretty steep climb on the blue ice to get to the top of our area, we drank glacier water (amazing) and then saw the base of the glacier which was stunning. Post trek we returned to the tent and met up with Billy, he had snacks waiting for us and then drove us up to the lodge for lunch. After lunch we made the drive back, and again Billy was willing to accommodate different drop off points.

We had such a WONDERFUL day dog sledding with our guide Lori…read more Our day started with getting picked up at our hotel in downtown Anchorage. Hotel pickup was super helpful since we didn't rent a vehicle. Lori made a bathroom/coffee stop 45 minutes into the drive. We stopped at a local coffee shop which was so thoughtful instead of stopping at your typical gas station. Afterwards we arrived at our destination for the dog sled tour. We went during the winter and it gets very cold when you are moving on the sled! We are from Arizona so we didn't have snow boots or other items on hand. Luckily snow shoes, heavy gloves, beanies, etc were provided for us to change into so that we stayed nice and warm on the sled. We were paired up and got the chance to sit down and ride in the front of the sled which was perfect for taking videos and pictures. And the other person had the chance to stand up at the back of the sled. We warmed up with a delicious lunch at a nearby lodge and made our way back to Anchorage. Overall, we had such a great day thanks to Lori and the dog mushers. It was truly a one of a kind experience! Highly recommend 907 Tours.

On the way back we went on the otter, which is an amazing plane that skimmed over the top of the mountain range on way back to anchorage. They have the experience and track record. There are cheaper services but rusts I'll pick you up at hotel and they have lots of lobby space in case your flight is delayed by weather. If you have the money do a trip on a floatplane. We decided to book the Matanuska Getaway, which is only a 3 day trip because we figured we would want to go explore other parts of Alaska on our own. The owner Don, was so helpful throughout the entire booking process, and recommended places to see and stay during our time after Exposure. The views of the glacier, the wild life, the planned tours and our amazing guides, all surpassed our expectations. They were awesome! Our guides were professional, knowledgable, friendly and we felt like close friends by the end of the trip. They were able to adjust our experience based on our skill and physical ability levels, which added more excitement to our trip. Our safety was paramount at all times and we had full confidence in their abilities to guide our adventure. Moreover, the food at the camp was great! We were expecting beans and weenies and other cliche camping food, but what we got was some great Alaskan cooking: Fresh Salmon, BBQ chicken, homemade breads and granola, among other things. In addition, while there was a lot of stuff to cover on our daily agenda, there was also a lot of time to relax and unwind. It was the only vacation where I didn't think about work, unless someone asked me about my job. Normally, when we go somewhere we still have home somewhere on the mind, but not here. Finally, this experience didn't seem touristy. After we finished our trip with Exposure, we spent a few days in other parts of Alaska, and the tours we did just weren't the same.

Flight was on the ground and we were at the door at 5:55pm. Lady ignored us and locked the doors. There were a handful of renters that were left either finding a place to stay or staying in the parking lot in the rv. Checkout the following morning took a whole 10 minutes! So we had to delay our departure by 13 hours for a 10 minute process. For $4100 to rent the rv, I would think a reasonable amount of flexibility warranted. This delayed us getting to a scheduled fishing charter at cooper landing. The shuttle was also not running so we had to grab an Uber to get there. Be aware of this when considering flight times. The rv was ok.

My family rented an RV from Amazing Accommodation Alaska (AAA) for 13 nights from late June to…read moreearly July. It's summertime in Alaska so I booked the RV months in advance. Sabine (the owner) answered all the questions we had from RV to mosquitoes to everything else under the sun. She helped us so much on planning the entire Alaska trip. She was so patient and kind. Because AAA is outside of Anchorage, you don't have to pay the 10% tax. Another thing we love about AAA is that they have no hidden fees. At the end, I think we saved about $700 renting from AAA comparing to other big RV companies in Anchorage. The RV was very clean and in good condition when we got it. Picnic chairs and table and cooler come with the RV rental at no additional charge. They provide a good supply of kitchenware (pots, pans, dishes, small bowls, cookware, silverware, etc.) toiletries, clean towels, first aid kit, cooler, pillows, blankets. They will make sure you have enough for the length of your rental. They even put a pair of latex glove for dump stations which we thought was very thoughtful. They let us borrow a bear spray but luckily we didn't need to use it. Before you take off, Sabine, personally, would go over the RV with you, and show you how to operate the gas stove, turn on/off the generator, water heater, AC, heater, etc. She put together a little manual in case of emergency. She gave us her cell number in case we ran into any problems with the RV, we would have been able to contact her. We forgot how to operate a few things and I had to call her a couple times; Sabine was more than happy to show us again. I can't say enough how happy and satisfied we are with Sabine and her rental company. They are amazing beyond words. I would strongly recommend using Amazing Accommodation Alaska.

I put "company" in air quotes bc even though it is a business, it didn't feel that way. You can tell immediately this is a personal venture - Clinton was extremely prompt with any communication. We booked through outdoorsy.com and there was a system glitch two days before our arrival so my husband emailed Clinton and he called back very shortly afterwards to explain and confirm our van and dates of reservation. He picked us up at the airport (with a 6 am arrival time no less! He also dropped us off back at the airport) and then took his time to review the contract and functionality of the camper. He was thoughtful and thorough and very responsive. Felt like everything had a personal touch to it and he was honest. The camper is extremely well equipped. Bed is comfortable, and comes with pillows, sheets and an amazing comforter. There are drapes for privacy which was great to block out the night time light (since the sun sets so late here in the Summer; they're not black out drapes and we were told that from the get go. Again, honest owner ) and adds privacy when we parked (drapes blocks out the front and side windows). There is a pump sink, all the major cooking pots and cast iron pan (!), coffee pot, propane portable grill, table for eating inside and folding table for grilling roadside. Large cooler also comes with. Recessed lighting and surround sound with Bluetooth connection means you're one click away from a van party (Seriously. The bass is legit.). Comes with plugs and usb connection and axillary battery to charge all your mobile devices. The van is smooth to drive (okay, I admit, I didn't drive it, but my husband loved it and said it was easy to use and drive). We averaged 25-30 miles a gallon (which is amazing for a van). It was clean, quiet, and totally met and exceeded our needs and expectations! #glamping Hands down if we come back again, we will be looking to rent from Northern Nomads again. They won't leave your stranded. Clinton was telling us how he's looking into a spare van/camper to make sure people who book with him won't be stranded should there be an issue with the van (ex. Tire issue, bull moose crash - these are real examples). You spend a lot of time, money and energy getting to the last frontier, you want to make sure it's a solid trip. THIS will give you a home to stay while maximizing your time in Alaska!

I was really shocked he was able to find a same day available RV to rent in June, since RV's reservations are made MONTHS in advance in the summer in Anchorage. He scoured the internet and found this teeny mom n pop company listed on Outdoorsy.co (not .com) that had an RV immediately available. He was able to make his reservation and payment on line and the RV was ready for pickup a few hours later. We showed up to pick up the RV at 6pm and I have to say, the place looked sketchy. There's no signs, not office and the lot is way in the back down a bumpy dirt road. But, everything actually turned out to be fine. The fleet is a little older, but the owner Tom is a mechanic and keeps everything running fine. It's quite a bit cheaper than some of the other places in town with newer fleets. We're hardcore Alaskans that don't believe in glamping; we just wanted hard sided protection from wildlife. Tom's and his helper spent a long time with us giving us the RV 101 orientation, which was awesome. The RV had everything we needed, although I do wish it had USB chargers. Note to self, bring a cell charger that plugs into the cig lighter. But everything was a-ok. We had all the kitchen doodads we needed, and since we mentioned Yelp we got free linens. Insurance was included. Tom made us very safe and let us know if we had any issues or questions we could call or text day or night. He also said he'd provide roadside assistance should we need it. I really appreciated the personalized service. If you like supporting the little guy, I highly recommend giving Alaska Family Motorhomes a shot! We'll definitely rent from them again if the need arises.

Don't waste your time or money. Our group couldn't wait to get off the bus. The guide, Ean, was FULL of sexist comments. Just a couple examples : -"I don't muzzle my dog, but I muzzle my wife" -"A female moose can have 12 calves in her lifetime...don't judge her, she's not a hussy" -"We have more female pilots here in Alaska than male pilots...we also have more wrecks than anywhere else so...now I'm not saying gender has anything to do with it but........." There were just SO MANY inappropriate comments/jokes made, even ones about the homeless and mass shootings. My group was uncomfortable the entire time. On top of that, it was so boring. We learned more about his relationship with his wife than Anchorage. He also got the year of the bombing of Pearl Harbor wrong. Honestly, this tour ruined my first day in Alaska and I HIGHLY regret going. read more

Absolutely incredible experience with this local tour company! Donna, the owner and our trolley operator, is a true gem! Her knowledge of Alaska combined with her warm personality made the tour unforgettable. we absolutely loved our trolley tour! We had great service from the people on the "ground", they were friendly and helpful, and also recommended how to get back safely. Ace- our tour guide- was one of the best tour guides we have ever had. He is native to Alaska and loves his home state! He was insightful, funny, and super nice. We didn't want the tour to end. My 8 year old daughter and I took this tour and we're lucky to get Donna. She took us to the highlights of Anchorage on the Deluxe Trolley Tour. These kind of tours can be boring to a younger one, but Donna did a great job keeping my daughter engaged. We saw the highlights of Anchorage and learned a lot of history, but honestly our favorite parts were Donna's personal stories of her experiences in Anchorage. Highly Recommend read more

We have lived in Anchorage 9 years and never did the city tour. Since we had visitors we decided to try it out. We are SO glad we did! Cole was a wonderful guide and his personal history with the State was awesome. He was very funny and very knowledgeable and was able to answer any and all questions.
