Located on the Avenue of the Giants scenic byway in Northern California, the Ancient Redwoods RV Park has a large gift shop and the Immortal Tree of the redwood forest, both welcoming to visitors (non-tenants). My wife, her mom, and I came here as our second stop (09:05) on day five of our Northern California road trip. There is a big parking lot with plenty of spots to shop and admire. The gift shop is named Burl N' Drift Redwood and had a lot of souvenirs made out of recovered redwood. We ended up buying a few things. At the west end of the parking lot, there is a thousand year old-growth redwood. It has survived a lightning strike, a loggers axe, and a forest fire, symbolizing the resiliency of the mighty redwoods. It's worth stopping by to take a picture or two. read more

What a wonderful place to camp in Redcrest on Avenue of the Giants. Dean, Susan, Rick, and the entire team are such kind and amazing hosts. We just love it here. The spaces all have full hookups with fire pits and views in every direction. They also have onsite restrooms and laundry facilities. You must have a satellite dish if you plan to watch TV, although they do offer free WI-FI. The gift shop is also one of the best around and offers a wide array of gifts and custom creations as well as cold refreshments. The Immortal Tree is also on site for viewing, and there is an abundant amount of trails and activities nearby. Highly recommended. read more

This is a pristine park surrounded by Redwoods and right off the Avenue of the Giants. Very nice spaces with grass (this was Springtime) and a fire pit at each site. No picnic table but a round plastic table. Laundry room clean and convenient. We did not use the bathroom so no clue. It is very quiet seemed. Very near gorgeous hiking trails. About 30 min to Eureka which had a Walmart, TJ max etc. The camp hosts are amazing. Wet kind to us even when we bought wood from them at about 9 pm. They both work tirelessly to maintain the park. Highly recommend. read more

Very clean, well maintained park, quiet surroundings and close to several attractions.

Just spent a week here & it was great! It was safe & quiet! Mostly couples. Not really a place for families given that there are no activities. This is a place to park, rest & sleep. Our 5th wheeler is almost 42 inches plus our truck & we parked in a pull through space where we fit just fine. We were able to wind down with a camp fire. Made some new friends. Very nice well kept park. Roomy level sites with easy access. Awesome gift shop and good general store. Very quiet with scents of the redwoods. Nice ride on Avenue of Giants to get there. It does get warm heading up from the south but cooler in the park. Full hookups with 50A and room for big class A's towing. Not much to do there but relax. You need a tow car or come with a TT and use your truck to sightsee. No AT&T cellular but good WiFi. We stayed before and after visiting the Ferndale dog show. read more

What a nice surprise. Quiet, level, full hookup sites, located right on the Avenue of the Giants in one of our favorite National Parks. COVID has all the showers and bathrooms closed, so your RV must be completely self-contained *and* you need a reservation - so call ahead. Sites are a bit exposed but our weather was perfect for setting out our chairs and cooking on the table, provided. In one day we took a couple hikes, then drove out to Shelter Cove, only 50 miles but be aware the road is twisty. A great location in a beautiful setting. +/- $50 per night. read more

Didn't technically stay at the rv park but I wanted to review the gift shop! It's really big and they have sooo many cool souvenirs! Lots of redwood carvings and traditional souvenirs like pins (my fav) and there's lots of snacks and drinks to buy for the road which I did! Perfect place to disconnect from city life! My husband and I have stayed her twice over the course of three years. This past stay was for two weeks. The owners are so friendly, easy-going and hardworking! We greatly appreciate the hospitality they provide within this very clean and comfortable park. Pride of ownership is apparent. Laundry room is also very clean and has a sink and paper towels in addition to a table to fold your clothes. The room includes two stackable washer and dryers. With the amount of people at the park during our stay I thought we would never get our laundry done, thinking it would always be in use, but we are able to do laundry twice. Non-issue. We highly recommend this park and would absolutely stay here again. read more

The RV park is great. This review is directed to the gift shop. More specifically the elderly male gentlemen who appeared to be the owner. This man was as rude as they come. He was rude to myself and my family. There was no issue and no reason. Just a mean awful miserable man. He said rude things to us. He seemed burned out. Maybe it is time for him to move on as this is a slow paced friendly area. I will tell everyone I know to skip this place. I also put the word out on trip advisor. No way this man wants anybody's business. Lots of shops in the area. Go somewhere that appreciates it. read more

Nice, clean RV park in a clearing right in the middle of the giant redwood forest! Had a level, pull through space for a 35ft travel trailer. Plenty of space for the trailer with the truck parked to its side. Wild blackberry bushes lining some parts of the park were in season during our mid-August stay offered a nice treat to eat off the vine and with ice cream. Park is on the scenic redwoods road with many redwood parks nearby. The fee included 2, 1G vouchers for WIFI. More available to purchase. To conserve, remember to turn your WIFI off when done. Would stay again. 4 stars based on location, cleanliness, proximity to redwood parks, reasonable price, and friendly staff. read more

We just spent a weekend at this park and would definitely stay there again! It was very clean & well maintained! Staff was friendly & helpful. Gift store on site. Roads & sites were all blacktopped & level with full hookup, $50 a night! There was a very decent amount of green grass between sites, more space than a lot of private RV parks we have stayed at! It is located on & near the North end of the Avenue of the Giants. Great spot, surrounded by tall trees & quiet! Basically no shade because there are small, young trees between each site. But we like the sun & it was perfect weather when we where there, 60's! We did not use the restrooms or laundry because of Covid. This seemed to be a nice little RV park. Most of the staff seemed friendly and helpful. The sites are close (maybe 10' between RVs) and there is very little privacy but I knew that beforehand. What turned my opinion of this campground to the bad side was my interactions with either the manager or the owner. The first was him unlocking the shower room and opening the door while I was unclothed and soaking wet because he had heard that there was possibly a transient in the area. Really? Is it that utterly important that a transient be denied a shower that you barge into an occupied shower? The second had to do with campground maintenance. One morning before we were leaving to go see the sights he had a string trimmer out and was whacking away at the grass and weeds on all of the sites, occupied or not. Grass clippings were flung about on our outdoor stuff and small stones thwacked against the sides and windows of the RV. After returning later that day I discovered that our outdoor mat had a corner chewed up and a note on the door saying "Oops, please come to the front office". Apparently he also runs the mower through set up sites! At the front office he offered me $20 for my troubles. When I said that it was a $65 mat and had the Amazon order up on my phone, he got irate, pulled $65 from the till and said that he had just bought the mat. I really didn't think much of it, but when I exited the office he had already (somehow) gotten to his golf cart and was literally halfway to the site to go repossess the mat. I couldn't believe it! When I confronted him about it he "graciously" offered to let us continue to use it for the rest of our stay. I wanted to like this RV park, but management soured it beyond redemption. read more

We recently stayed here while visiting the Humboldt redwoods. The staff here is beyond friendly and the park was very clean. The park was centrally located and easy to access all the major tourist attractions. The one thing that would be nice instead of the flimsy plastic table, is a picnic bench at each site for the family to sit and eat dinner, lunch or breakfast outside in the scenic surrounding views. read more

No service for your phone and WiFi doesn't work. They give you a code for one use and they actually mean one USE. Not 24 hours. Or the length of your stay. If you use it once and then Walk away from your phone, you're done. They have you trapped in a place with no service and then force you to buy internet if you want to, oh I don't know, check in with other family members who thought we were dead on the road because of this dark spot. We couldn't even buy internet because that's broken too. I don't need to be on my phone on vacation but I do need to keep my family apprised if my whereabouts and this place puts you in a dark zone. Add the cost of buying internet to whatever price they quote you. read more

There is a part of me that would like to keep this a bit of a secret but that wouldn't be fair. This is a great place to stay. They focus on hospitality and they do a great job. Quiet location with clean full hook up sites. The owners are so accommodating and friendly. It is your best bet on the Avenue of the Giants. I am a local so I did my research and nothing else really matches the layed back friendly vibe. The gift shop on site is worth the time to walk through. The redwood art is really top notch. Be sure to make the time to stop by and at least take a look if you are visiting our beautiful redwoods. read more

Nice park, nice people! The only reason I am giving it a 3 is because of the wifi. Wifi wouldn't be a problem if cellphone worked but the only company with any connection is Verizon. You are give 1000 megabytes per site (2 500's) and mine disconnected after 2 hours. I wasn't even using my phone but they said I must of been. I purchased another 500 megabytes for $5 (no biggy) and it was still working when we pulled out the next day. I have never been to a park where one the wifi was limited and two you had to pay when the free disconnected! The price of the park is very reasonable and because so we decided to pull out a day early to get closer to home losing a nights paid stay. read more

Beautiful Park. Clean Friendly and great location away from crowds. All campers were RV'ers and quiet and friendly. Nice grass, etc. The only negative was the promised wi-Fi that didn't exist. They would be better off just saying they dont have wi-fi. They claim to give you a "voucher" for 1GB and it lasted for one log on and then was invalid. Very disconcerting if you needed it for work or family contact. Essentially, no internet or WiFi at all. Other wise a nice place. read more

We rented an RV for the first time and this was our first stop. What a delight! The grounds were very clean and nicely maintained. The bathrooms and showers were also very clean. The best part is the owners. They are extremely helpful and friendly. They guided us to some great hikes for us and our kids and made the necessary arrangements for us when we came into the park late. We would definitely stay here again! read more

family owned rv park and gift shop/store since the 1950's, the park reflects pride in ownership. the park is clean and well maintained. pull through and full hookups are ample. sites are level with a small area of grass ( brown due to watering restrictions) the two showers and two bathrooms are clean. park is located on avenue of the giants just north of redcrest. try and arrive before office closes at 5 or 5:30. owners are very accommodating and helpful. Fortuna is about 20 minutes away and has grocery stores and Eureka about 40 minutes. park is quiet and rv-ers tend toward a more mature crowd. only down side is spotty wifi and the occasional wiff and fly from a nearby cow farm. bonus is blackberries for picking along fence read more
