Stayed here for one night. Clean, comfortable, and large.... but unfriendly and cold staff made it much less of a welcoming experience.

Had a wonderful stay at the Victorian Inn. We were sad to leave this morning and hope to return…read more The inn is located in the sweet town of Ferndale. The architecture of the inn reflects the charm of the city. The rooms are very quaint and quiet. They may be small but they are very comfortable and well adorned. The only issue is that the inn is not ADA compliant and the stairs are a little steep when carrying luggage. All the rooms are upstairs Jason the owner was accommodating and very friendly Our deep respects and admiration for Lowell at the desk who made our stay so special and was beyond friendly and caring We are both nights in the village pub where both Lili and Andrea outdid the service. Not only was their hospitality and friendliness superior but the food was very good. The fish and chips cooked to perfection, the fries crispy and delicious and the smashed burger perfectly made. Lily was friendly and sure to greet us on her day off ! We can't say enough wonderful words about our experience We just wish that the breakfast service was available before 8am and had a few more substantial choices.

The people here were the most amazing part of our visit. They were so warm and friendly and authentic. And so accommodating- we stopped in with short notice and they put us up, when we sat at the bar and asked for some cards they found some for us, and the cocktails were amazing. We absolutely loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. And this place feels very safe - the Inn, the people, the town - I felt perfectly safe going to my car at night after dark to fetch a couple things. Great location for female travelers.

Can I just live here?…read more Scotia Lodge went beyond our expectations by a mile, and then some. When we saw the price we thought, is this too good to be true? It's true! They have managed to blend the historic nature of this hotel with modern amenities perfectly (without feeling too boutique/hipster-y). Greeted with a free beverage upon arrival, we made our way to our room to find it clean and cozy, with ample outlets, reliable wifi, and a clawfoot tub. After four days on the road, a soak in that tub gave me life! There is a restaurant serving breakfast 8-12, dinner 5-9 (we got The Lumberjack waffle sandwich for breakfast. Not sure what I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting in-house recipe waffle mix stuffed to bursting with eggs, sausage and cheese. YUM!), and a bar downstairs that has very fair pricing. They also have soaking tubs for $25/hour with Epsom salts and other amenities (we didn't rent it but it sounds great). There is a local grocery store just across the street that has ready made hot/cold foods, beer and liquor, and anything else you may need. Located just north of the Humboldt Redwoods State Park, it's a perfect starting or ending point for your redwoods excursion. Every staff member we interacted with was kind, prompt, and informative. The grounds are beautiful, with a large picnic area to enjoy your morning cup at. This place gives Overlook Hotel vibes in the BEST way possible. Can't wait to come back! And to think we almost stayed at the Best Western for $10 cheaper... lol. Thank you, Scotia Lodge, I will be recommending you to anybody I know traveling through the area! We stayed one night, 6/25/26-6/26/26

No safety rails for help getting in/out of tub. Seemed dangerous even for a youngster. The mattress appeared old and not comfortable. Rug in the room ... slipped on it.... safety concern. Its obviously an old building and had a little creepy feel to it. No elevator so anyone with limitations would have issues with the stairs. Limited parking. The restaurant wasn't open during our stay. Not the highlight of our vacation.

It was in the middle of downtown. The second night the weather was bad so we stopped in Redding and stayed the night at a best western there. I really enjoy the breakfast at the best western hotels and these two hotels werent all that great. Ive spent many nights at your hotel in Fortuna and I got to say that your guys breakfast is the best by far. Your biscuits and gravy is my favorite, neither of the two hotels had either so please keep making them. Yes of course I would recommend staying there and I will keep staying there Thank you

Yum, biscuits and gravy! Got a jacuzzi room this time which was nice to soak my broken bones and was able to sleep better! Love that you guys are pet friendly so our fur baby/child is able to come along on our trips! And with the rooms being pet friendly the rooms are remarkably clean. This Best Western is the place that we have always set our standards to for everyplace we travel. By far the Best! We have gone to a lot of locations and the other Best Westerns are not as good as this one. Your breakfasts definitely makes a difference and impact. Thank you everyone! Love, Mr. and Mrs. Dirtbike and baby Snoots too!
