Went to the airport to see my loved ones off, I decided to check out &More Restaurant at Sheraton Gateway Hotel at Terminal 3 for a quick lunch before heading back home :) To my surprise, I really enjoyed the experience! Oct 2021 - Reno's in progress expect construction noise after 8:30 am. The staff here are great. The hotel updates are shiny and new and prominent in the lobby and dining areas. Very modern, almost stark and a little too hipster for my personal preference but I understand who they're catering to. The rooms are average, the beds however are always the best which is why I return. Stayed here twice in the past few weeks; one old room, 1 new room. The "new" rooms are painted, new fixtures, new furniture, new shower but otherwise just felt like the old rooms. The club lounge is located off the lobby and when I was there this time it was still order & pay versus previous club lounge breakfast buffet etc. Food quality and price is always above average and modifications are accommodated. If needing a quick overnight at YYZ this is always my go to. read more

If I could give negatives I would. When we first walked in the phone was not hooked up and the only outlet that worked was the one connected to the alarm clock. We called up a worker and he fixed it and said stuff just needed to be connected behind the table. We were able to laugh it off then wanted to go get some ice for the drinks we purchased earlier that day... there is not a single ice or vending machine in this hotel. While we were aimlessly searching for ice, the rest of our family was parking our vehicle in the "5 star" parking lot that was supposedly 0.6km away. When I checked they were 5.7km away and not parked yet. They were then given a hard time about money and disrespected by all staff. While we wait for them to get back I lay here watching a tv that can only be seen by one of the beds and laying on my "pillows" and unmade bed. Update: not even two minutes after posting this I get a video from my family showing the beat up shuttle bus they're in. The driver won't speak and has nothing on the radio. I'm not sure why this hotel had such a low rating. The staff is so friendly. I've stayed here a few times and everyone is always friendly but as I just checked in tonight after a very long day - the front desk was really great. He could tell I was exhausted and went out of his way to really make things as easy as possible for me. Service in the bar table area can be a little slow sometimes but it's always excellent at the bar. The chicken Club is delicious. Highly recommend. Wanted to update because several of my cool workers arrived today and I was with them as they were my in... Again super friendly. Then we all had dinner at the restaurant and again everyone was amazing! I ordered the two meatballs with spaghetti and it was perfect. The exact right combination of meatball to mozzarella. My coworkers ordered the charcuterie platter and it was definitely big enough to share. Great service all around. read more

Very nice in the airport hotel and worth the rack rate if you are arriving into Toronto late or departing early Which is exactly what I did on my last pass through Toronto. The Sheraton does an excellent job greeting you as you arrive and getting you checked into your room. I was upgraded to the club level because I just reached Platinum with Marriott. That was nice! For Marriott Reward members with the right status the hotel offers a lounge on the 9th floor. There you can enjoy a full breakfast. They also have something in the evening but I missed this both nights I was here. Here I think I want to point out that Marriott Rewards are so much better than Hilton. I am also a Hilton Platinum level and only get a bottle of water for that. In the lobby is a bar and restaurant. The food and drinks here are ok if you are feeling lazy and not wanting to go into the city for more. read more

Expensive but well-worth it to be right at Pearson Airport. In addition to the convenient location this newly-renovated hotel offers excellent service and amenities. We were greeted warmly and immediately and our luggage was brought to our room. The following morning a luggage cart was obtained from the Terminal and we were escorted right into the Terminal. My wife and I were regulars at the Gateway because it was so convenient for flying in and out of TO, however, we will never stay there again!! Such a run around for booking a room. Within one hour, three calls answered overseas by people I could barely understand, prices went from 280 to 440 for one night. Definitely not supporting the Canadian economy using off shore call centers who can barely speak the English language. And then charging way beyond what it should cost. Hotel properties paid for many times over and still charge way too much. 280 I would pay but within an hour 440, not a chance. I will never spend a dime in another Marriot property. BED BUG INFESTED! -Run, Run Away I booked into this hotel for less than 8 hours for a night's sleep. The next day after arriving at my destination, I flipped the lid of my suitcase to find a big fat reddish bed bug ontop of my clothes. Killed it & it squirted blood, probably mine. The following day my neck & top of back swelled up red. Estimated over 80 bites. The thought of how I got them makes me sick. Spoke with the manager who claimed they have a clean bill of health & are allowed to sell that room. Ha! Do not stay here. The hassel I went through with my clothes, my sister's house. It's not worth it. Have lost all respect for the Shereton Gate Way, purveyors of fine bed bugs. read more

Outdated hotel in a very convenient location if you are travelling internationally. I stayed for one day waiting for a 1:30 AM flight to China. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant served a Moroccan chicken entree which was excellent. The prices are out of line, chicken with a side of asparagus and one glass of wine including tip $70 Canadian dollars. I will stay here again due to the convenience and ease of getting to the Toronto airport terminals. read more

I didn't take pics, but I've stayed here a handful of times and have never been disappointed. It's a bit on the pricey side, but the location is ideal for overnight connections. Check in was seamless and I love the scent they use for the lobby. My room was clean and otherwise as expected. I appreciate the coffee maker as my connection was going to be tight and I knew I wouldn't have time to stop anywhere in the morning. The view was of the terminal, but I wasn't staying there as a get-away and really didn't care. It was quiet and that was most important to me. The bed was comfortable and the blanket felt cozy and weighted. The bathroom was a bit on the smaller side, but it worked for me and the shower had good pressure. In the past, I've used the business centre which was functional. I debated calling for room service, but had a midnight snack as take-out from The Bar restaurant downstairs. My server Ulla was attentive, friendly, prompt and got my order just right. The sandwich was tastey and the kale salad wasn't overdressed. Check out was also smooth. What I didn't notice was the staff anticipating, which is what one might expect for a place with elevated service. For example, due to a last minute booking, my loyalty number didn't end up on my account. I wasn't asked about it, but at least they were happy to add when I made mention of it upon departure. read more

We had an early morning International flight and decided to stay at the airport to make it easier on us. This hotel had just what we were looking for but came with a Hefty price. When we got to the room hubby immediately turned to me and said it was hot. He knows I can't do hot hotel rooms. We played with the thermostat and could not get the room to cool down so we called maintenance and sat there sweating while we waited. Igor knocked on the door about 20 minutes later with a filter and proceeded to try to bring the thermostat below 24C(77F) with no success, so he was kind enough to call down and request another room for us. A staff member came up to assist us in moving our bags. Being Titanium we had access to the Sheraton Club and were greeted by friendly staff and complimentary appetizers. The bed was very comfortable and since our flight was delayed we were able to enjoy breakfast in the Club. If you have an early morning flight and can pay the price this is a convenient hotel. read more

A delayed flight that caused us to miss our connection made us stay at the hotel. Any last minute day of room rates are over $400... a date in September is as low as $115. So what do you get with a $500 hotel room? Fruit flies and dried blood on the door, removed door hook..What a way to make some money from tired travelers. I decided to stay at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel because I came in late last night... this hotel is old, dark yellow and brown hallways, dark brown and yellow rooms. This place is in need of some major renovation... for the price of one night is not worth it. The only positive points are as follow... large 55" tv, great shower with strong pressure for water, keurig in the room... I will think twice before staying here again... there are many other places to stay and competition is fearsome! Think about it. Very nice place to stop in if going to Terminal 3. This hotel serves multpile purposes. In one case, its a hotel. As in, you need a place to rest your head for the night. As far as that goes, its a fine hotel, and if you are on the club level its a nice little bonus. Nice lounge, edible food, nice drinks, really cant loose for a hotel club level lounge. It is also a great place to park and walk through if you are picking someone up from Pearson. You can park at the hotel (there is a fee), and walk through to find your person, the arrivals are near the hotel, and then go back out through the hotel. You can do the same by parking at the airport, however, this is very easy and it may be faster in the long run as well. If you have to wait, there are nice restaurants and a bar in the hotel itself. The third nice thing is they have a deal, if you spend a night here you can leave your car for a reduced rate for a week or more if travelling overseas. This is terrific. You can of course stay here on the way back as well. Your car will be here, covered parking if you want and its all just easy. 3 stars because it is a hotel at the end, comfortable, nice beds, fine rooms, easy parking, reasonbale food. The 4th for the ease of the airport as a result of the hotels location. But if the hotel were just "another hotel" near the airport, it would be three stars. Its the parking, the airport access from the hotel that give it the extra "umph". read more

Toronto Pearson Airport is literally surrounded with hotels, but only one is located within the actual airport itself! If you're flying to/from Toronto and don't want to to deal with the hassle of taxis, finding your way around an unfamiliar city, or have to leave for an early morning/late night flight, the Sheraton is located right inside Terminal 3. Driving to the hotel was a bit of a mission - the roads leading up/around the airport are a nightmare so it took us 4 laps around the airport before we found the hotel. You have to drive through the parking lot to the top floor in order to get to the hotel entrance. Parking is $30 a night, but there's a value parking lot just a short distance away. Access to Terminal 1 is also super easy, as the hotel is connected to the terminal link monorail train. The reception was absolutely lovely. I'm part of the Starwood Preferred Guest program because I travel quite often, and was upgraded to the Prime Minister Suite! This is more of a business executive type of room I'm guessing, so it's great if you're on a business trip or need a conference area. The bedroom has a king sized bed, a bose sound system, a large dresser, a desk and a large flat screen TV! The room itself is on a private floor and has a lounge area with buffet - the food is great and there is always a supervising attendant. There's a Sheraton Club lounge located by the elevators. Sheraton Club hosts hors d'oeuvres until about 8:30PM, so we popped by for a light evening snack. In case you're wondering about the noise - the hotel is located at the airport, so that means non-stop airplanes overhead right? This was a concern of mine until I learned that the windows are double paned so you don't hear anything! Overall, I had a lovely experience at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel! I highly recommend it if you need a place to stay while traveling in/out of Toronto Pearson Airport. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the location is super convenient! An all around winner, methinks. read more

Oof, this place needs improvement. But they know they have a captive audience, as it's attached to Terminal 1 at YYZ. Our experience was roundly terrible. The lobby was a zoo. Perhaps that's something outside of the hotel's control, but they surely needed more employees to handle the demand. There was a pretty significant back-up for the elevators as well. It seems that there are too many rooms for the size of the common facilities. After a frenetic check-in, we discovered that our room wasn't clean. So we had to go back through the process to get a room that had been serviced. After waiting twelve minutes at the bar without a greeting or menu, we left. It's perhaps for the best, as draft beers ran $13. With few other dinner options nearby, we ordered room service. They said that the food would arrive in 30 minutes or less. Instead, the food arrived 62 minutes later. The runner was very apologetic about it and very nice. I'm no jet-setter, but I am a Bonvoy member and stay at Marriott-branded hotels with some frequency. O can say that this was one of their worse showings. We opted to stay here overnight to potentially alleviate some of the stress of travel, but honestly the stay at the Sheraton did no such thing. I had a late night flight into TO so I called both Sheraton's to see how much a room cost. They were very similar in prices so I decided to stay at the one that I could stay indoors in the whole time. There is a connection from Pearson terminal to this Sheraton so I came over here. When I arrived I got quoted a different price but they were "willing" to give me another room at a discount slightly above the original price they mentioned but had to go through a cleaning because someone had smoked in it. Thanks to the jerk-ass on the phone for not telling me this when I called. I would have went to the other Sheraton. I was exhausted so I stayed but the room stunk of smoke. The room was very large and like most Sheraton's you never feel like you get your money's worth for the stay. read more

Not sure why they do not always get 5 stars. The location is worth 10 stars alone. For parking the entrance is just past the main hotel entrance to the left on the departure road way for terminal 3( the road where you would drop off passengers) terminal is on the right, hotel and parking on the left. Take a ticket go to the top floor of the parting(outside), the entrance to the hotel is on this level. You end up in the main lobby check in and bar area. You can grab one of the CIBC free carts and bring it up to your room and wheel out your luggage in the morning. When you leave to walk over to the airport the entrance is opposite the parking entrance, walk 60 feet down the hallway thru a couple doors and down the escalator and you are in terminal 3 at westjet check in. When you check in to the hotel if you have a room + parking for 8 or 15 nights make sure the person who checks you in validates your parking ticket otherwise you will be sitting at the parking gate with them wanting a couple hundred dollars and a line up of cars behind you honking at the idiot (you), been there done that. The lobby bar, food and service is 7 star. Prices are what you would expect... your on vacation don't whine. The gift shop is stupid expensive, it's more expensive than the actual airport. I bought a couple of items and felt... Violated, i did feel better after I found a 5$ bill outside on the ground. Room was on the club floor over looking runway.. stellar. Bring your binoculars and pull the chair up to the window make a nice drink and enjoy the sights for hours. Quiet room. Amazing value, location, staff, food ,drinks, free luggage carts, 2.5 minutes to check in at terminal 3. Don't stay anywhere else unless you can't afford it, then stay at the other Sheraton with a shuttle. read more

Landed at 11pm and had another flight at 7am, so naturally we wanted the easiest, convenient sleeping option, which = this hotel as it's the only one actually connected to the airport. Check in was a breeze and we opted to go straight to the bar to grab a late night bite to eat. Bartender was friendly and made some suggestions on the menu. Hotel pricing, but we managed to get two glasses of wine, a soup and a pizza for about $50. Food came out relatively fast, and found it was decent. Room was quite nice, and the shower head had some amazing pressure. Nothing too special, but perfect for getting a few hours of sleep. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my 2-night stay at this hotel. If your meetings are at the airport, there's no better place. I arrived after a flight and received a friendly greeting from both the desk clerk and the manager. I was informed that since I had requested a feather-free room, I would receive one of Sheraton's new Pure Allergy-Friendly room, which includes treatments to avoid dust and pollen, and an air filtration system. Now I'm sure the majority of their treatments are not scientifically-proven, however it made me feel a bit better. I wouldn't pay extra for the Pure rooms, but it was a nice touch. The room was quiet and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The rooms had 2 features that I deem 5-star worthy, and essential when I travel for business: 1. Plenty of electrical outlets - you'd be surprised how many hotels don't have outlets next to the bed to charge phones, watches etc. This room had many. 2. Blazing fast wifi - I achieved speeds of over 1000 Mb/sec. Very unusual for free hotel wifi. I also ate down in the bar and ordered room service. Both came very quickly, and service was friendly and warm. The fitness centre wasn't bad - plenty of treadmills and cardio machines, but not a huge space for weight training. That being said, there's a Goodlife Fitness at Terminal 1, so I used that. Finally, our meeting was in the hotel meeting rooms. They did a great job with catering, AV, and all aspects of the meeting. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. If you don't have time to leave the hotel and visit downtown Toronto, this is a nice place to stay! read more

We've dialed the number on the menus for room service and no one picks up. It supposed to be open until 1 am. Dialed again and front desk picked up and asked to call room service which I did. Called room service again and someone hung up immediately after picking up. Called again and he put me on hold, and forward me to the answering machine. If you're looking to be closest to the airport, then this hotel has the best location. The sky walk / pedway connects this hotel to Terminal 3 and also has a convenient access point to get to Terminal 1. The price for this hotel is pretty high relative to other hotels, but it's location cannot be beat, especially when you need a place to stay to make an early morning connection. My room was a traditional king and it was a bit dated and a little dirty compared to what I'm used to when paying $400/night. The bed was comfy. I arrived late at night and their room service offerings (once we got the in-room phone working) were decent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would I return? Only if I had to stay near the airport. read more

While I cannot comment on this hotel as a guest, I feel it is noteworthy that I review my experience here. I am a meticulous-OCD traveler. I have itineraries, addresses, phone #, hours of operation etc. with me everywhere I go. Rome may not have been built in a day, but I got us through Rome in a day! Fast forward to the one time I did not get down to ONE detail on a vacation. Weeks before the trip, I download app after app so I could be well prepared. When our plane landed in Toronto, I turned on my iPhone and realize it doesn't read AT&T on my phone anymore. Why?! Because we are NOT IN AMERICA and did not plan ahead with our carrier that we were going outside of the country. Our phones were roaming and basically useless. After going through the airport and getting vague directions from staff there, we walk outside of the terminal and I notice there is a hotel literally at the airport terminal. We decide to walk over and ask if we can use their wi-fi (we clearly did not know the airport had wi-fi) so we can plug in the laptop and try to figure things out. We needed to accomplish two things: 1. get to an AT&T store 2. get to our hotel. Upon walking into the hotel, we were greeted by Flavia at the front desk. I told her about our little embarrassing situation and had to be an unfortunate representation of a product of American public education. Instead of giving us wi-fi, she took matters into her own hands and feverishly searched on her computer for an AT&T store and when that could not be found as they do not exist in Canada, she got us their customer service number so we could call them later when we got settled into our hotel. She also went above and beyond and called our hotel to let them know about two stranded guests, asked if they provided a shuttle to/from the hotel/airport and what was the best/easiest way for us to get to the hotel and to ask if we could check in early as we would be there in an hour or so. She wrote down a ton of useful information for us and sent us on our way. While we were not guests, Flavia's service truly stands testament to this hotel's customer service. Having been my first impression in Canada, I was humbled by her act of kindness. Flavia was extremely kind and efficient, what she did was far beyond the call of duty as she was helping non-guests. She really took control of our situation and made sure we were taken care of. I am so thankful for Flavia's generosity and the Sheraton is very lucky to have her represent the company at the front desk. Sometimes you don't have a choice... this hotel is old and dated. As soon as I got off the elevator onto my floor I was sneezing uncontrollably. The carpets smell old and are full of dust. Pillows are terrible. I woke up with my neck hurting. Rooms are dry, so you wake up in the middle of the night looking for water (luckily they give 2 complimentary bottles of Aquafina). There's an Alt down the street that is probably more modern and clean for the same price. Next time I'll go there. read more

Three stars for the hotel room quality, four stars for the check-in staff, one star for the food quality, point five for the food service. (Reverse those last two if you wish.) An okay place to stay, just don't get stuck eating here. You are better off going to Wendy's in Terminal three than subjecting yourself to the dubious food, indifferent service and ridiculous prices of the Gateway restaurants. I ate two poor to mediocre dinners here, both with tabs in excess of $50 including tax and tip. Gluey soup, microwaved bread, pizza crust reminiscent of cardboard. (Worse than the frozen pizzas you buy for your five-year old.) The spicy pretzel mix at the bar was the culinary highlight of my visit. read more

I am a platinum guest with Starwood hotels. Love the brand and for the most part love the service offered by all Sheraton hotels. I have stayed at this hotel many times and they have virtually zero platinum recognition. It all starts upon check-in where the spg preferred guests are ignored and preference is given to flight crews and other guests from the regular line-up. My most recent visit I actually called ahead to tell them I was arriving at 6AM and would only be staying for 3 hours to catch up on sleep - I paid for the full night. Not only was I not given an upgrade I was put on the louder side of the hotel. Furthermore they were cleaning the room across the hall from me at 6AM! Seriously who cleans a room at 6AM? The hotel that is trying to double sell a room to airline crews does that!! No worries that the noise will be inconveniencing guests at that hour. Upon leaving today I am carrying 2 coffees and my bags out the front door and was having difficulties with the door and the door man stood and watched while he chatted on the phone. My colleague who was picking me up saw this from his car and noted he had been on his phone for over 15 minutes. I will give the morning staff in the club lounge credit. They are over the top friendly and offer fantastic service! Take note of this as this should be the standard for the entire hotel! I have complained to the hotel management on numerous occasions and apparently it is falling on deaf ears as nothing ever improves. If anything it gets worse!! Unfortunately there are no other choices attached to the airport otherwise I would have switched long ago!! read more

The Toronto Pearson International Airport, Terminal 3, has this Sheraton hotel literally connected to the terminal. So, if you don't need to travel into the city for any reason and convince your meeting host just to utilize a conference room here, then you are in luck. You could literally just wander around in your pajamas if you wished. Now, the downfalls are exactly the same as the positives in that you are nowhere near the city itself (relatively speaking, i.e., you cannot from your hotel out onto the streets of the city and explore). As a result, you are confided to room service, the hotel restaurant, or starvation (or I suppose airport food)... and then there is always taking a taxi into the city - which sort of defeats the purpose of staying here, I think. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are spacious and acceptably maintained, and you are not going to come away with "the pox" or any other malady from staying here. You are also very safe and secure. Additionally, since this is probably a concern, the rooms are amazingly soundproof. You will absolutely not hear the planes coming and going around you - which is pretty phenomenal. Anyhow, you might as well give the joint a whirl. In the end, it's a Sheraton (not a W, not the Ritz, etc.) so 3-stars seems fair. read more

First of all, this is NOT a 4 or 5 star hotel as it is ranked on many travel booking sites. The rooms are nice, a little tired as some other reviewers have noticed. Fine for a 3 star but if you are really expecting more than that you will be disappointed. Pros: *Easy to access location *Friendly staff * Decent sized rooms *Clean rooms *quiet rooms-easy to forget you were at the airport. *Onsite store-pricey but good if you are snacky Cons: *Parking is very expensive so if you aren't travelling on business (ie can't expense it) and have a car, reconsider. *They overcharge on room service. Yes, I get room service costs more but they add two separate fees not including taxes on top of the already grossly inflated food prices *Want internet? It is free 50 ft across the road at the terminal but they'll charge $20 a day for it here. It isn't 2005 anymore Sheraton..stop charging for internet access. I might consider staying here on business if it suited my plans. But if I am footing the bill I'd rather go to a nicer hotel that includes a little more with its rates. read more

Sleepless night in this hotel. PRO: it's located attached to the airport CON: Rooms are dated and old. Carpet is loose and ragged. Shower is fitted with old, 1970 's faucet and head with very little consistency in water temp during the shower. A/C (loud) would run for 30-45 seconds and cuts off for about 2 minutes and then back on for 30-45 seconds... All night in this loop. The whole time it was hot in the room. I had a 13 hour layover in Toronto, so I stopped in for a massage. I decided to go with the sports massage as the description sounded more to my liking. I think that was a mistake, as it was more expensive than other options (125 Canadian plus tax for 60 min). This was more of a rub down than a massage, and it was extremely disappointing, especially considering the price. While I really enjoy a good massage, this was simply an expensive time waste. I don't know if it was just that massage therapist, or the whole spa, but I would not recommend their services. read more

This hotel is handy if you have an overnight connection... certainly beats the Toronto traffic! That said, the amenities were generally poor, though that isn't entirely the hotel's fault -- aside from the hotel lounge, there were few choices for dinner, etc. This is probably the best feature of YYZ, but that's not saying much... It most certainly was not on-par with a Renaissance (YEG) hotel nor a Fairmont (YVR). read more

Our surreal experience in this factory-like hotel is worth recounting. But first, the review: Pluses: great bed, well-appointed room, great shower and bath. Good ventilation and soundproofing, and the entire hotel is non-smoking. The front-desk staff were attentive. We got our room via hotwire.com for about $84, including all taxes. Minuses: The sound of diesel engines in the background is constant, from buses and service vehicles in the terminal. Our third floor room was next to the monorail, which was quiet, but it was disconcerting to see a train flash by periodically. Internet access costs over $7 for 30 minutes! Housekeeping left the alarm set, so we were rudely awakened at 7am, after arriving at midnight from a long flight. Then housekeeping knocked on our door at 7:30am (on a Saturday!) But the best was yet to come. The fire alarm went off at 10am. This is of course just an accident. However it kept chiming for 35 minutes, off and on, louder and softer, until the staff finally announced the all clear. This mostly motivated us to get our stuff packed and get out of the hotel as soon as possible. The in-room Starbucks coffee was horrible. Honestly, I've stayed in one-star hotels that were more comfortable and relaxing. With free or reasonably-priced internet, no less. Hotwire rated this four-stars...I don't think so. The best thing about this hotel is the convenience of staying right in the airport. read more

Very nice hotel. Beds are super comfortable and the pillows very soft. As this is next to Pearson Airport, the windows are heavy double glazed so you don't get any airport noise at all. They have the club floor, for those who either pay or are SPG Elites. There is a gym, but like a typical hotel gym, not fully outfitted, but you can get a workout in there. The lobby has a bar/restaurant. See other review.....And if you are flying out, there is a free train shuttle to take you between terminals. read more

Comfy beds, seemingly soundproof windows, beautiful views of the airport area, but my god the doors can't keep our hallway sounds from cackling tourists tramping through the halls at 2:30 AM. I travel through here on business pretty frequently and it's my only stop for a few hours of rest between two days of travel. The restaurant/bar downstairs is pretty run-of-the-mill for Sheraton hotels -- don't expect to have your expectations shattered -- it's on par but nothing I've experienced was ever above and beyond. read more
