(also posted on Google) The Anndore House looked cuter in person than it did online. If you see a Constantine sign, you're at the right place. To enter the hotel, you have to go through two very heavy doors. (I started using the auto button on the side after a couple times of trying to push or pull the doors.) Then there is the front desk, which doesn't face you. It's a bit odd of a situation. There is cold lemon water available in a dispenser. I like that you need a room key to use the elevator. The room was very spacious with interesting little details. I had a room with two queen beds. There was a rotary phone, a record player, and two very comfy chairs. There was a mini fridge and a coffee maker. You could request to borrow a microwave. I loved the scent of the hand soap and body wash in the room. It was supposed to be "berry". It's a quick walk through the Green Parking garage to get to the subway station Bloor-Yonge. You can access line 1, which gets you around downtown pretty easily. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at The Anndore House. It is in a good location in Yorkville, a nice neighborhood with multiple restaurants and shopping opportunities nearby. The subway is about 2.5 blocks from the hotel with good connectivity to various parts of the city. The front desk is off to one side. Check in was straight forward and speedy, which I appreciated after a long trip from Toulouse that had a connection in Amsterdam. My room was quite large. There was a seating area with two chairs and a table. There was a king bed with great linens and pillows. The shower was also large with good water pressure. I was surprised and pleased by the size of the closet. I was also surprised how quiet the room was. The bath products were also so good that I wanted to throw them into my suitcase to take home. My hair hadn't looked that good in years. Breakfast was uneven. I had the best omelet of my life the first day I was there (and that is saying something since I live most of the time in France.) The second omelet that I had was terrible and not even close. I had the breakfast sandwich on the final day, which was good. Overall, you get a decent bang for your buck with both the room price and breakfast menu. read more

When I first booked the anndore house, I thought that it was a cute looking boutique hotel affiliated with the Hyatt brand. I tend to like those quirky little boutique hotels usually, but often times they lack some amenities the larger hotels usually offer; but not this place! I had no idea I was about to stay somewhere that was so incredibly accommodating to its guests. Just like the major chain hotels, they have the same standards or cleanliness and friendly staff that i would expect from a nicer hotel stay. But they have many things that also set them apart, So let me go over what stands out. 1: They let Uber eats drivers come to your room if your elevador requires a key fob, here they do the logical thing and ask the driver to show proof that he is delivering to that room, which results in having the full benefit of ordering delivery to your room. At most larger chain hotels I would have to get dressed and go downstairs and come back up, it would turn into a whole ordeal. 2: you can get something delivered to your room anytime 24 hours a day and it arrives quickly, never with any attitude either. 3: your room doesn't come with an ice bucket which normally you would think is a bummer, but actually it's a blessing here because they will bring you unlimited refills of ice buckets delivered to your room for free! 4: most hotels rip you off with $9 bottles of water. Well this hotel gives you unlimited FREE bottles of water as many times as you want, delivered to your room 24 hours a day!!!! This has to be my favorite amenity of all time. I love this! 5: the hotel room is well decorated with art deco designs and has a rainfall showerhead, I actually love this room it's one of the most beautiful rooms I've stayed in recently. 6: the valet is so quick and friendly. They aren't rude if you don't have cash to tip every single time you get your car like other hotel valet usually are; and they seem genuinely happy to help you just like the rest of the staff. Honestly this hotel did a great job at hiring. I have absolutely no grievances at this hotel besides just that the lobby and front desk is a little small, I remember having a hard time moving the luggage cart around when I checked in. But honestly I'm not going to remove a star for something that silly! read more

The neighborhood was alittle mixed with pockets of transients but nothing overly concerning. Good walk to different places, close to many different restaurants. Area is very diverse which we loved. I can't say enough about the wonderful staff, we felt so good each day and night welcomed each and every time. We will definitely be back! read more

My experience at the Anndore House was absolutely phenomenal. I woke up one day and decided that I would try an impromptu trip to Toronto! I love that this team made this experience so easy for me. When I arrived I was instantly with cheers. I valeted my car ( 45 CAD + HST). I inquired to see if an upgrade was available. I then was provided with a corner king studio. The specific room photographed was 807 :). Okay quick about the room - One of the best beds I've ever slept in. - Rainforest shower AMAZING - Separate dressing area & foyer that I appreciated. This hotel is located in an ideal space. Great place to stay. The check in was easy and the location is very convenient. This hotel is close to the subway and also buses. There is paid parking public parking across the street in the garage for $18/day or there is valet at the hotel. The hotel rooms aren't super fancy but they are trendy and clean. It was cute that they had record players in the room but no great record selection to play. There is a bathtub and the shower and toilet are separate, very European style. There is a mini fridge and water, tea, coffee in the room for guests. There is a tv and two chairs in the room. The bed is pretty comfortable, I was able to sleep well. No frills but for the price it's a good deal. There is an attached restaurant and bar that looked nice but we didn't try it. I would stay again if I was in Toronto. read more

Location? Ehh..... Restaurant? Excellent! Vibe? Super-cool! Full transparency- Hyatt "Globalist" so yes, enjoy the "perks" that come with it. Let's go! - This was a (2) night stay/business trip - So what about that location? I found the area around the hotel to be a little "seedy" however- had a car/wasn't in town to walk around - Dumb/dumb struggled to find the hotel entrance.....as I thought the entrance in front was for the restaurant! (don't ask, it was a long day!) - My room/suite was excellent! Plenty of space, cool vibe, all the way down to vinyl albums - Because I got into Toronto/the hotel late (around 8:30pm) I decided to eat at the restaurant in the hotel called "Constantine" (and glad I did, as it was excellent, both food quality + vibe) The Positives: - Great bar/restaurant - Great room - Great vibe - Cleanliness The Negatives: - No valet parking (covid related, I don't know), however, their was a parking garage across the street - No lobby/common area (wasn't a make it or break it for me, however- keep that in mind if you are considering this place) - Awkward location If you are looking for a cool/comfy place....then yes, put this place on your list. Stayed here for a 6 day trip! We loved the location! We were thankful it was super close to subway and bus so we didn't get to drag our luggage far. The outside of this hotel is super unique. I wouldn't have know it was a hotel. Looks more like a restaurant Liked the industrial retro look. The bed was super comfy and blankets were warm. Everything was clean. Ample space to place your clothes and luggage. Loved the 2 single seats and room for desk if you needed to work. Safe and TV also nice to have. Good size counter space to put all your toiletries. Down side: I would have loved a microwave in the room. Also the walls are super thin so easy to hear loud noises. None of the noises bother me at all. read more

The place is really easy to miss. Passed by it 3 times before we realized the outdoor cafe out front was the entrance. Nudie bar right across the street Hotel Doors are locked at 10pm every night. Hallway carpet floors could use a cleaning. The room safe is so small I doubt I could fit a book in it. Thought I was paying for 4 Star Hotel with Amenities, more like a 4 Star Motel with clean rooms. read more

The Anndore House - The Nasty Kitty Right outside the front door - Hotels Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in the master suite. Overall, our stay was wonderful. For a 3-star hotel, the rooms feel elevated and polished. The cleaning staff did a great job everyday, and front desk was available whenever we called. The bar, restaurant, and coffeehouse downstairs were great bonuses. There were, unfortunately, just a few things that soured our stay. For one, we were checked in nearly an hour late (though to be fair, they approved a one-hour late checkout on our last day when we asked). It wasn't even necessarily the late check-in; things happen, it's fine. It's that whenever we asked, we were met with callous, short answers, as if a late check-in was regular procedure. A simple apology would have eased so much of the tension while we waited in the closed restaurant. When we got to our rooms, we learned that the internet was spotty that day, (again, not prefaced, we had to ask about it), so we couldn't stream anything on their TV. No problem- we could just cast from our phones, until we learned they only accept cast through non-iPhones and the HDMI cord only accepted Macs. We headed down to a Best Buy and purchased both a Roku streaming stick and the HDMI, gave our laptop a hotspot Wi-Fi to connect, and laid down in bed for the night to watch Netflix. We learned, then, that the bedroom TV maxed itself at 25 for the volume (for noise complaint reasons, we were told). We played the volume from our laptop because it was louder than the TV. After we checked out, we sat in their closed restaurant waiting for our Uber to the airport, and were approached by staff after not even 3 minutes in "how long do you plan on being here?" It was possibly the easiest way to end the stay on a negative note-- that we stayed for an entire week, but the moment we checked out, we were being ushered off the premises. Again, overall a nice stay, but a few mannerisms by staff could be improved. read more

Mixed review because of noise but do note their excellence in some areas. One of the best hotel restaurants I've ever experienced. You'll want to try everything. I didn't have one dish that wasn't exceptional. 5/5 Great hotel staff, from door man, to front desk, to cleaning lady. Everyone was very nice and helpful. 5/5 Decor and room design were all tasteful, minimalist, and industrial. The lighting in the rooms was perfect and the vinyl player was a nice taste. The media that is available on the TV is very sparse, only TV channels. But who is in a hotel in Toronto to watch TV? Really yummy and pricy snacks provided. 5/5 So why the "only OK" review? I was staying in room 201, which is on the side facing Charles Street. The room is literally the closest room one could have to the elevators. There was a high pitched sound that sounded like a person making a loud quick whistle randomly throughout the evenings/nights when I was in the room. It took me a day to realize it was coming from the elevator. Since I was there for work and gone everyday from 6am to 9pm, it was one of those things that I didn't diagnose until after the second night. But it stopped me from having one night of solid sleep. It's hard for the body to sleep not knowing if it's seconds or minutes till the sound would go off. I think it was some of the worse sleep I've had in ages. I realize it's my fault to not have said something sooner. I was only home at night after long days of work and never felt like packing up my whole room and moving. I kept thinking maybe with the room A/C on, or ear plugs, or white noise, I could get through it. It was, though, pretty bad. Just be aware and ask for rooms far away from the elevator. It's a pretty old building (historic even). But they really must do something about those noises from the elevator shaft. 0/5 read more

Very much enjoyed my stay! The hotel is located about a 15 min walk to Yorkville, a 5 min walk to Bloor Station (line 1 and line 2 of the subway), and close to several restaurants. The room was spacious with a king-sized bed, nice furnishing, a great walk-in shower, a bar refrigerator, great free WiFi connection, and a smart TV. The hotel also has the Anndore House app on the Apple App Store and the Google APP store, which allows you to control the lights and AC from your smartphone. The app can also allow you to unlock the room door and access the elevator with an electronic key; however, I would not recommend using the electronic key, as I had to re-pair every time I returned to the hotel before I could access the elevator or unlock the room door. Simply use the key card issued by the hotel and save the app to control the room lights and room AC. I also had supper at Constantine. I would highly recommend the restaurant. The food was delicious; I would recommend the fire-roasted eggplant salad and the lamb burger. The staff also know their wine pairings and made an excellent recommendation to go with the meal. Let's start off with the friendly staff. Very polite and helpful. When you walk in it's a bit confusing because there's a sort of hotel computer stand up table in the center. It's not that, it's the front desk to check in. After checking in there's a very beautiful restaurant. There's also a coffee place and a barber in the hotel lobby area. The elevators are a bit hidden around the bend. The hotel room is beautiful. It's styled in a very cute modern yet 1920s kind of way. The beds are very comfortable!!!!!!!! That's the most important. The beds are very nice. Pillows are nice. So clean. Great part of town. This seems more like a place for couples/single adults. Not really anything for kids at all so don't bring them here. No pool or spa or gym area which makes me sad. So because of a lack of these facilities which I like in a hotel, I took a star. read more

Very clean, spacious and comfortable hotel! King size bed was very comfy. The bathroom is very clean and had an amazing rainfall shower head. Record player was great as it always plays through Bluetooth with your phone. Mini fridge under the cabinet, Robes in the closet, safe in one of the cabinets, a "master" light switch on each side of the bed and also by the door. This place really has everything nailed down to the little things. Only thing I couldn't seem to find was an ice machine and our housekeeper said I could call the office for ice. Would of just been nice to get it myself when convenient. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and professional. Evee checked us in and even made birthday cards and placed them in our for us. She also was able to give us some great recommendations for things to do around the city. Another staff member held our luggage for us for a few hours as we didn't fly out until late on our check out date. Another great amenity of this hotel was the restaurant and bar that is in the lobby. We didn't actually eat at the restaurant but it almost came in handy a few times. Just got back to LA from my visit to Toronto. I was a bit hesitant about staying here because of some negative reviews. But I'm so glad we did. Family of 4 with 2 kids. I had a really great time here. First a big shoutout to Augusto in front desk. Next Janelle and Shante (forgive me for misspelling) for providing me with the extras I needed. And finally the young women working the breakfast bar. All made us feel welcome and were kind and accommodating. Our room was not huge but it was just right. We did not drive in Toronto so did not require parking. Being from LA, we drive everywhere, but Toronto should be done using their metro system as it's super efficient, practical, and fast. This hotel has 2 metro stops a block away. Which makes its location super convenient. We took the 'UP express", Toronto's airport Express for a few bucks. We were literally at airport terminal in under 30 minutes or so from the hotel. Lots of places to eat nearby including the hotel. Check out their happy hour specials. FYI, this is a busy city and if I had to describe it, it would be that it's as busy as NY (more or less). This hotel had the right location , the right price and awesome staff. read more

I've spent a lot of days at The Anndore House this year, and I definitely recommend it if you're heading to Toronto. The rooms are stylish and comfy, with a modern loft vibe, record player, flat screen, armchairs, and really comfy beds. The property is centrally located in an area with lots of shopping, dining, and transportation access. I do wish they hadn't closed the lovely and convenient little coffee shop of the ground floor, and that the restaurant (Constantine, excellence personified) served in the morning and on Sundays and Mondays - pandemic bummers, probably, but breakfast isn't convenient. Otherwise, and great place to stay. I'll be back, and hopefully the coffee shop will too. read more

Pleasantly surprised with my online pick of this quaint, boutique hotel full of cool people, and staff. We loved the location off the beaten path. The hotel restaurant was exceptional as was the loung area. We were a little caught off guard with the entry thinking we were in the wrong area, but we got it after they greeted us. Our second stay at this hotel and while I like the hotel and the location, I'm not impressed with the noise during this stay. It is a pet-friendly hotel and there is an incessantly barking dog on our floor. I have two dogs, and I know they all bark sometimes for a minute or two, but to have to listen to a dog whine and bark for hours on end while my kid is trying to sleep? Not cool. Called down to the front desk and nothing is being done. I don't think we will be returning after this experience. read more

AMAZING hotel! We both had the best experience staying at this place. This place is clean, and very modern. The design and room decor is really unique. When we got to our room we were amazed by the view of the city. The room was super spacious and it made us feel like we were at home. It's cozy and made our 2 night stay here very comfortable. I would 100% come back here next time we visit Toronto again. The restaurant and bar downstairs is elegant and very hipster. I love the vibe here. Also, valet service was easy and efficient. All we had to do was call for our car from the room and once we got down to the lobby, our car was pulled up to the front. Staff were friendly and welcoming. A new trendy place to stay. The entire hotel has been revamped as it was previously a Comfort Inn. There were 4 of us staying in the the room so it was a bit quaint. The restaurant is busy and the drinks in the hotel were pricey...($15 for a glass of wine) but they do have happy hour from 4-6. The rooms are expensive but we booked through Hot wire so that cut the price. My friends were going to stay an extra night and was quoted "$524" for the night . It's a nice hotel but I don't think it's worth that much for one night. Location is great and there were plenty of places to eat, shop and visit within 5-15 minute walking distance. Overall a nice stay and I would stay here again. read more

I was so disappointed with my experience after reading all these great reviews about the hotel. Walking into the room, the first thing I noticed was hair on the carpet as well as food stains on the side table. Thankfully, I had cleaning wipes with me so I took care of it but I was frustrated with the lack of care they put into cleaning the room between each visit, especially during Covid. The room didn't come with any cups, toothbrushes, water, or any proper instructions on how to call for room service etc so it was kind of up to me to figure it out. When I called for room service during the hours told by the receptionist, I was then told the hours had changed because of Covid and they were not servicing for breakfast or lunch during weekends. Only half the TV channels were working during my visit. I was told there was a technical issue they were trying to figure out. A few times while I was watching TV, the signal disconnected and the entire TV screen would go dark.. I would then have to wait 10-15 minutes before the TV was back online. While I've got to say the rooms themselves feel nice, the guest service is so inadequate I would never stay at this hotel again. read more

What a horrible experience . Please never stay at this hotel if you want any type of reasonable guest services . Yes the hotel has a wonderful and well thought out and cool esthetic design but for the price of rooms the guest experience they provided is just horrible. Although the design is very cool , the actual furniture and interiors are very cheaply done with cheap linoleum flooring , and the top service is unacceptable , we called 2 out of three mornings to order breakfast and learned first that there was breakfast starting at 111 and then 12 on weekends. We then called back to order before our 11 am checkout only to find they still would not be able to bring our food out before out pre arranged late check out . Also the food the finally did serve was actually not worth the very high prices they charge: little options. read more

LOVED this hotel! First time staying there last night and I was sad to leave. The vibe and energy of this place was amazing! I stayed in room 510 and it was so cool! Had an old school rotary phone, a record player, a powder room, kind size bed and a gorgeous shower! I would highly recommend staying here! The coffee shop downstairs is called "The Scarlet Door" and it's was a cute little spot. Th barista was absolutely hilarious and made me laugh. My girlfiend and I stayed here a few months ago. Recently, we were reminiscing about our vacation in Toronto and it is only in hindsight that I can truly appreciate how much of our amazing trip could be attributed to The Anndore House. First of all, the location is incredible! The property is situated right in the heart of this bustling city. We had easy access to a plethora of bars, restaurants, and late-night eats including Constantine, the restaurant located on the first floor. The room itself was spacious yet very inviting. We loved the record player and other nostalgic items that adorned the room. The king-sized bed was comfortable and the bathroom was pristine. The staff was extremely friendly and provided us with a wealth of information. Thank you for the memories! read more

My husband took me to Toronto this past weekend for my birthday and we stayed at the Anndore House. It's just opened and is still being renovated so the restaurant and café are not yet opened. However, we absolutely loved it there. The building was built in the 1950's and the owners have tried to restore it to that era. Our room was decorated to 50's retro style and it was gorgeous! Super clean and welcoming and the bed was really comfortable. There is parking right across the street and there is a Tim Horton's nearby for morning coffee (The Anndore had coffee but I love my Timmies). The staff were really nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay when you're in Toronto. We will definitely go back! read more

Too noisy from other guests, not street noise. I requested "a quietest room possible" at the time of reservation. Then again at check-in at which point I was told that they saw and honoured the request. The bachelorette party in the adjacent room had another agenda in mind. Why would you assign a room to a business traveler requesting "quiet" next to a bachelorette party checking in? Perhaps this relates to the deposit collected at check-in and the clientele that frequents this property? I've traveled the world and do not see such a practice. Don't apologize at check out and blame it on the guest for not complaining more, and don't respond to google comments with faux apologies; this is simple - honour the guest's request for a quiet room from the start.
